“Get back here, Lily!

That bastard is dangerous!” Gareth said, trying to reach back for his woman.

But Lily stepped back and hid behind Ren’s fluffy tails instead.Full novel: Court of Moonlight: Fated to Four Beast Kings — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The Fox Lord’s ears twitched, and he taunted, “It seems that she has made her decision, mutt.” Then, he snapped his fingers, and the blue flame on Gareth’s leg vanished instantly.

However, the burning sensation and scorched skin remained, meaning Gareth would still need to be treated for the injury.

Gareth looked at Lily in disbelief, as if his heart had been crushed by the decision she had made.

But Lily did not even look at him anymore.

Instead, she asked the Fox Lord, “Can you give me something to heal his leg?” “I can, but what would you give me for it?” “W-we can talk about that later.

Just give me anything that can heal his leg,” Lily pleaded.

“Lily, you…” “Shut up, Gareth,” Lily cut him off while glaring at him.

She had had enough of this hothead.

In fact, she did not understand why Gareth had suddenly stormed into the camp without even talking first.

He could have just stood outside the gate and asked the guards to announce his arrival.

There would probably have been some arguments, but at least it would not have turned into a full-blown fight to the death that resulted in him getting injured and the entire Fox Clan camp being burned to the ground.

Gareth growled again, but when he saw Lily glaring at him, he could only scoff and look away.

“The fire’s been put out.

I’m not in pain anymore.” “I do have a healing salve for him,” Ren said, ignoring Gareth entirely.

He looked at Lily with interest, but it was not the good kind of interest.

He looked like a fox who had just found a new toy to entertain himself with during his free time.

Gareth noticed it and was ready to attack again, but Lily continued glaring at him, silently warning him not to cause any more trouble.

Once again, Gareth could only bare his fangs and growl in frustration.

He did not understand why he had to listen to an idiot who had willingly gotten herself kidnapped by this devious fox, but he still did…

in the end.

Ren took out a small bottle from his robe and handed it to Lily.

“You can rub it on his wounded leg.

Don’t worry, I won’t disturb you two lovebirds.” Ren looked around at his surroundings and scoffed when he saw his kin still trying to hide from the blue flames that could kill them.

“Besides, I have so much to do now that the entire camp has been turned to ashes,” Ren said before turning around and leaving Lily and Gareth alone.

As he walked away, he suddenly stopped and looked over his shoulder.

“And don’t try to run away, little woman.

Your Gareth is still very weak right now.

I can catch up in no time.” That threat effectively shut down Lily’s idea of running away.

She had not expected Gareth to suddenly become a liability now.

She turned toward Gareth and continued glaring at him in silence before pulling off the lid and slowly rubbing the ointment onto Gareth’s leg.

Gareth, still in his wolf form, continued to growl, whether from pain, frustration, or both.

Lily had to grab the wolf’s leg, which was bigger than her own hand, before commenting, “Can you stay still?

You’ve created enough mess, Gareth.” “Mess?

I was trying to save you!” Gareth defended himself.

“You could have done it in a more civil way.

Ren hasn’t done anything to hurt me,” Lily said.

“But he kissed you, didn’t he?” Gareth pointed out.

Lily fell quiet after that.

She continued rubbing the ointment onto his leg until the burn scar seemed to cool, and there was no longer much sign of discomfort from Gareth.

Well, he was in his wolf form, so the only reason Lily knew he was getting better was because he had stopped baring his fangs so much.

They remained quiet for a while before Lily finally spoke.

“You never told me anything about your identity.” “Because I lost my wolf for a while.

I was basically the same species as you the entire time I was at the barn,” Gareth replied, still not looking at Lily, as if he were still pissed.

“I told you not to take anything from the forest while I was away.” “It was Marigold,” Lily replied.

“And you claimed that you were the one who killed Ren’s spouse,” he pointed out.

“Otherwise, that devious fox would have taken Marigold instead.” “Do you know how foolish you are?

Endangering yourself to protect that ungrateful bitch,” Gareth added, scolding her while he was still angry.

“This is why I rarely take my eyes off you, you idiot.

I leave you alone for a day, and you’re already in so much danger.

Do you know how worried sick I am?” “And now you’re here, getting kissed by that devious bastard!” Gareth jerked his head toward Lily, the anger in his eyes growing like a blazing fire.

“Had I known that you’d willingly get yourself into his arms, then I wouldn’t have gone so far to come here!” … Lily remained quiet for a while, listening to Gareth’s tirade.

She looked offended by his words, but she waited patiently until Gareth finally stopped yelling before replying with only a single sentence.

“I did it for you.” Gareth was stunned for a moment, then his expression hardened.

“What do you mean you did it for me?

You’re endangering yourself for no reason, Lily!” “Because Marigold is a liability, and I know you are kind,” Lily replied matter-of-factly.

“If she were the one who got taken by Ren, you would still try to help her, but she would betray you in one way or another.

We both know what kind of person she is.” Lily lowered her gaze for a moment before continuing, her voice remaining calm despite everything that had happened.

“I don’t want you to get hurt even more, so I thought that if I were the one who got taken, I could at least try not to burden you so much,” Lily added.

“After all, I see you as my family, whatever kind of family that’d be.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Apup A family, hm?

Is that…

PG 13 family, or the R18 family?
