10: Chapter 6.1 Look here, Minister!
And so, contrary to my expectations (?), a few days after the banquet ended without an Assassination Commotion at the Founding Festival.
I am learning magic from my Grandfather.
My Grandfather checked my pulse, then spoke with a pleased smile.
“Imperial Prince, I believe it’s about time you created a Circle.” The Mana Circle Event had finally arrived.
What is a Mana Circle?
A Ring of Mana that fiercely spins inside the heart, but for some reason, doesn’t tear the three-dimensional organ apart—a Fantasy-style Level System!
Only once this is settled in the heart can one be said to have taken the first step as a mage.
“Grandfather, I have a question before we begin.” “Yes, please ask.” “A ring forms in the heart, but can the heart remain unharmed?” “Hmm?
Ohoho!
So that’s what you were worried about.” Grandfather laughed amusingly before displaying a Cross-section of the Heart above his right hand.
‘Ugh, how gross.’ “First of all, you can think of a Circle not as a Physical Ring that forms directly in the heart, but as a Spiritual Circuit.” Then, a ring formed in his left hand, and he merged it over the heart.
The circle surrounding the heart rotated, and the inside of the heart began to sparkle.
“Therefore, as we study, train our Mental Image, and gain enlightenment, we add one ring at a time to produce a higher output.
You can think of the Circle as a device to smoothly transmit the magic power stored in the heart to the circuit.” The cross-section that had been floating above his right hand disappeared, and a cube made of transparent ice floated up.
“Mages are beings who project their will into mana to create miracles in the world.” Before I knew it, the Ice Cube in his hand was filling with water and rotating.
“The more Circles you have, the higher the output becomes, allowing you to more strongly assert your will upon the world and defy its laws.” A flame sparked in the center of the cube, which was full of rotating water.
As I stared blankly for a while, Grandfather grinned and burst the cube in his hand.
Light exploded, and starlight filled the room.
“In short, you can think of the Circle as a Spiritual Organ that increases the output of Refined Mana in the heart.” As I stared blankly at the light in the room, I felt my heart pounding fiercely.
Witnessing a miracle, and knowing that I could perform that miracle myself, made me increasingly excited.
‘So damn charismatic…
so cool!’ When I looked at my Grandfather with eyes sparkling with excitement, he smiled contentedly and patted my head.
“Imperial Prince, you will surely gaze upon a higher view than I.
I guarantee it.” Drunk on a Magic High, I immediately began the process of creating a Circle.
I sat in the cross-legged sitting (lotus position), took a deep breath, and focused my mind.
“Now, try drawing a circle in your mind.
Once you’ve drawn it, think of rotating that circle and spreading the mana from your heart to put down roots in the world.” I took a deep breath and closed both eyes.
As I focused on the Mental Image, a faint tremor and an unfamiliar warmth spread through my blood vessels.
At first, it was like an unstably flickering light.
However, the streams of light gradually gathered to form a single flow.
In the deep place of my heart, mana shone as if a small star was rising in the darkness.
As that light circled and circled around my heart to form a circle, I felt a strange resonation, as if my heart had gained a new pulse.
Thin lines intertwined layer by layer to form a single ring, and finally, a Perfect Circle was engraved upon my heart.
For a moment, a vibration resonated throughout my body and I felt a suffocating tightness, but soon, a refreshing sense of liberation washed over me.
I felt my vision expand, as if I had spread a small root into the world.
“Welcome to the World of Mages.” I reached out into the empty air and tried to wrap a glass bottle in the room with mana.
It was something I had been doing constantly since I was young.
The surrounding mana enveloped the bottle in a sphere.
I drew a giant hand in my mind and pulled the mana with the feeling of supporting the glass bottle, and the bottle slowly flew towards me.
Holding the bottle, I was feeling a sense of accomplishment…
“Imperial Prince, what you just…
what you just did, please do it again!” “Yes?” “Hurry!” Grandfather was unusually excited.
‘Isn’t imbuing Magic Power with weight a basic course…
It’s what I was practicing the other day.’ In response, I reached out and brought over another teacup that was nearby.
Seeing this, Grandfather stared blankly for a moment, then explained to me with an excited expression.
“Hahahaha!
Imperial Prince, take a look at this.” At that, Grandfather reached out and instantly grasped the teacup in his hand.
What’s this?
Just when I was wondering if this was some advanced form of teabagging to show a newbie the skill level difference.
“Normally, the process of using magic involves absorbing surrounding mana, refining it, and then going through an output process.
But just now, the Imperial Prince used the surrounding mana with will alone!
This is a miracle…
a surprising Mana Affinity!
It reminds me of the Dragons of the past, who were said to be able to handle mana just by breathing.
Hahahahaha!”
