He infused lightning mana into his mana skin, this not only increased his speed but hid his appearance.

He couldn’t have anybody know he could use magic stronger than F rank yet. Mercury floated 500 metre above ground.

Lightning flickered over his body, BOOOOOM, he accelerated and the air shattered in his wake.Full novel: Cursed Mage with Infinite Mana — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A sonic booms followed behind him, he carried a tail of howling wind strong enough to uproot houses.

" I might be flying a bit too low." He increased his altitude and settled at 900 metres, he couldn’t effect the ground from that distance.

" To think a human can fly at supersonic speed using their power, this word is super awesome."

Mercury was beyond excited, he did a back flip mid air, twisted like a spiral and dived to the ground.

He turned just before hitting the ground and flew back up, he stopped about a kilometre up and took a deep breath.

’ I’ve read many books of people fighting to get back to their old world when transported to another.

Fuck that, I’m never leaving this world, I’ll become the strongest then set on an adventure to experience more of this wonderful worl...’

" Kueeeeeeee!" A loud bird screech came from above, he looked up and a claw larger than half his body grabbed him.

" Oy oy oy, don’t you dare fucken ruin my dream about this world you stupid bird!" Mercury roared.

Lightning exploded around him electrocuting the bird to death in mere moments.

" A mere E rank monster daring to challenge the great mage Mercury, you’re courting death."

Mercury felt his blood shiver, " I would die of embarrassment if anybody heard me say that, there’s no way real people talk like that I’m falling aren’t I?"

Mercury looked down at the fast approaching ground, the bird’s claw was stil locked around him.

It tightened when it died, Mercury stopped his fall and removed the claw, " What should I do with you?

Should I have chicken soup? No I’m not hungry, oh well." He tossed the bird across the sky and flew off.

On the ground, a group of weary travellers were praying, they were starving, they hadn’t eaten for days.

A child looked up, " Mommy, what is that?" The child pointed at the sky, everybody looked up.

" Eh? Did god answer our prayers?thank you, oh thank you noble god of birds, you beaked one, we will forever he grateful for your mercy." An old man shouted at the sky.

Mercury had no idea he had just saved a group of people from dying of starvation and he was now a beaked God.

It took him some time but eventually he got back to the capital, Mercury landed a few kilometres away.

Making sure nobody saw him, he made his clothes look rough, dirtied his hair and joined the crowd moving towards the gates.

" Identification." Demanded the city guard, Mercury showed his guild card and his personal ID.

He showed his personal ID first but the guards barely reacted but smiled and let him in without trouble when he showed his guild card.

’ To think my guild membership card holds more power than my ID, even though I’m the Duke’s son, how miserable.’

" NO WHY WHY MUST I LIVE LIKE THIS? Oh the injustice, such injustice." Mercury went on his knees and clasped his chest dramatically.

It was then that he remembered he wasn’t alone in the forest anymore, he felt so embarrassed he forgot to hide his power.

Using light mana he turned himself invisible and ran back to the academy as fast as he could without drawing attention.

He went to his house but when he got there all he found were stone rubbles. " What happened, who did this?"

Mercury felt rage, he didn’t usually feel this anger but this house has been his shelter in this cruel world for fours years.

He was so angry his body started shaking, a haze of mana rose from his body, Mercury took a deep breath and calmed himself down.

The mana haze disappeared but he already noticed it. " Even with the rings on, my mana pool is still 10 times more than it was when I first got here.

I didn’t notice it before but it seems due to my constant training, I can rein in my mana preventing it from going nut, to an extent at least."

Mercury was glad this happened when he was alone, if somebody had seen him, there would’ve been trouble.

" I need to go see the dwarves again, I still owe them for last time, even though somebody else paid, I still feel guilty."

Mercury used mana realm to search beneath the stone rubble of his house and he found what he was looking for.

He dug through the rubble and found a small wooden box, inside was a purple devil’s lily, Mercury took it to the guild.

" Thank you for completing the mission, you’ve been rewarded 2 points to your guild account and here’s your payment."

The receptionist gave him a sack of coins, inside were 50 silver and 4 good coins. He counted again and the number did not change.

" This is the payment for an F rank mission" He couldn’t help but ask. The receptionist looked confused.

" F rank? Did you not hear? due to how long the mission was taking, it was finally raised to E rank.

You weren’t the only one or the first to take this mission but you are the first to complete it.

Although the mission itself isn’t considered dangerous, devil lily are rare and very hard to find not to mention taking too long to mature.

They cannot be grown artificially even by the elves, naturally the guild finally decided to increase the rank of the mission." The receptionist explained.

Mercury nodded, " Thank you." He left the guild, ’ I guess being that bastards son has helped with something.’

Mercury got that lily back home before leaving for the academy, there were four of them actually.

He went to find the dwarvess d explained his situation the best he could without revealing everything.

" So you’re saying you have a curse and need artefacts that can suppress mana and mental strength to contain said curse?" Asked the elder dwarf.

Mercury nodded, " Can you make them stronger than these and possibly doesn’t have such large void stones? these are too eye catching." Requested Mercury.

" I’ll see what I can do, come back in two days." Replied the dwarf and chased him off.

Mercury found an inn and stayed there for two days, in those two days, his mana nearly doubled again.

" My mental strength has grown stronger again, I can absorb even more mana now." Mercury sighed, " At this rate I might draw unwanted attention." He went to find the dwarves.

" Ah young lass."

" No but I’m a boy though."

" I have what you asked, come check it out." The dwarf ignored him and led him to the back.

" See this, isn’t it great, huh? Do you like it?"

Mercury rubbed his forehead, " This is a woman’s jewellery isn’t it?"
