One magic spell and two skills.
By the average standards of a transmigrator, one could only call it mediocre.
However, the DanMachi system of “Falna” is truly idealistic; the ability values are all reflections of Xia Jia’s past experiences.
As an experienced transmigrator who had already traversed two worlds, evolving a space-type magic seemed logical enough; secondly, his long-standing actions of constantly seeking out “Mystery” had coalesced into a skill.
And then, there was the [Wings of Justice]—a skill manifested from the “harem ambition” that lies hidden in every man’s heart.
I suppose that really is just “everyone is my wing,” then.
Seeing that Xia Jia had finished comprehending his ability values, Astraea said:
“All three are extremely rare abilities, especially [Wings of Justice].
If you were in a powerful Familia…
Xia Jia, you would immediately possess terrifying ability values.”
Xia Jia also clutched the parchment, sighing with emotion:
“That’s true.
If it were the Freya Familia, the strongest in Orario, and if I could max out my favorability with everyone there, I reckon I could surpass the strongest in the world instantly.”
But…
dreaming of maxing out favorability with the Freya Familia was just that—a dream.
Moreover, the positioning of “favorability” here was also very ambiguous; there was no objective standard to measure it.
Xia Jia clenched his fist, testing the feel, and mused: “Based on current standards, to reach the level of 50% inheritance, one would at least need to be at the level of a long-married couple.”
In short, the more girls he “conquered” and the stronger they were, the stronger Xia Jia would become.
“Anyway, I’m sorry.
You joined a Familia as destitute as mine,” Astraea said, looking slightly guilty.
“It’s fine, this was my choice.
Besides, if ability values like mine were exposed, I’d be finished.
So…
you’ll keep this a secret for me, won’t you, Lia-sama?” Xia Jia said candidly.
“Lia?”
“Astraea, so it’s Lia.”
“My, are you starting to ‘conquer’ me already?”
Astraea nodded with a smile:
“I have already taken the liberty of locking and hiding that skill for you.
Even if you are captured by other gods, this skill will not manifest in the future.”
As expected!
Choosing the right god is crucial!
If it had been Loki, she probably would have thrown a banquet immediately and publicized it to the world.
Other gods would likely have been similar.
Moreover, although the Astraea Familia was, like Hestia’s, essentially destitute, there was no doubt that the prestige of a “Justice” Familia was at its peak, and their connections were unexpectedly wide.
Even Freya, who was known for her willfulness and poaching members from everywhere, would give Astraea some face, not to mention “colleagues” like Ganesha.
Basically, aside from the Evilus, almost every Familia would have at least a baseline of favorability toward them.
“In the future, I can finally go out and say, ‘Give this redhead some face.’ Dog-head_smirk.jpg”
After getting dressed, Xia Jia looked at Astraea with a troubled expression:
“Now we have a difficult problem.”
“What is it?”
“The matter of the Captain…”
Undoubtedly, a Familia Captain is usually the person who garners the most prestige.
Simply put, they possess basic renown.
Originally, it didn’t matter; giving up the position of Captain wouldn’t have affected Xia Jia.
“But it’s different now.
With the [Wings of Justice] skill, if we recruit new members in the future, the initial prestige of the Captain will be incredibly important!”
“Compared to working hard to ‘conquer’ a target, starting with a base favorability of ‘Respect’ is much more cost-effective.”
According to Xia Jia’s calculations, “Respect” could at least provide a 5% boost to ability values.
This was a terrifying statistic.
If he were in the Ganesha Familia, which had eleven Level 5 members, Xia Jia would naturally possess the equivalent of half a Level 5’s power!
That’s a guaranteed Level 3!
“Therefore, compared to being some unknown Vice-Captain after the Familia expands, the role of Familia Captain is clearly far more valuable.”
Xia Jia looked troubled: “The problem now is Cecile.
How am I supposed to talk to her?”
Astraea felt troubled upon hearing this, but her brow soon smoothed out:
“Cecile is a good girl.
She might throw a tantrum at first, but…
don’t you possess ‘Mystery’?”
Astraea’s eyes curved into crescents as she said confidently:
“Development abilities are traits that adventurers only have a chance to awaken after leveling up.
And ‘Mystery’ is a one-in-ten-thousand rare option.
If Cecile were to try and level up on her own, it would take at least two or three years.”
As she spoke, the Goddess leaned down and gently stroked Xia Jia’s head:
“Therefore, for Cecile, wanting to obtain the blacksmith-exclusive ‘Forging’ is a very distant goal.
So…
‘Mystery,’ which can replace ‘Forging’ to a certain extent, is vital to her.
You must learn to utilize your own advantages, Xia-chan.”
Damn it, how dare you tease me!
Looking at the fair, snowy skin the Goddess revealed inadvertently, Xia Jia nervously brushed her hand off his head and turned away:
Isn’t it just using ‘Mystery’ to craft weapons?
I’ll help out, that should be enough, right?”
“Regarding that…” Astraea straightened her expression and bowed slightly: “I must also ask a favor of you.
Please, you must agree.”
“What are you saying…” Xia Jia hurriedly reached out to support her: “If it’s something I can do, I certainly will.”
Standing back up, Astraea began to explain:
“There are many varieties of ‘Mystery,’ and each person is suited for different directions.
Among those known to possess ‘Mystery,’ there are individuals who focus on strengthening ‘Healing’ magic and specializing in the ‘Blending’ required for pharmaceutical production.”
“There are also people like Asfi, who focus on crafting magic items and special potions, and even curse-weavers who focus on forging curses.”
“Everyone chooses their ‘Mystery’ focus based on their own direction, but essentially, ‘Mystery’ is a development ability that involves the divine authority of the gods.”
“This means the pinnacle of ‘Mystery’ is the ‘Omnipotence’ of a god!”
Xia Jia nodded earnestly…
I know this…
it’s the ‘Ork Senses’ power.
In the original work, Asfi directly replicated Daedalus’s “Eye of Daedalus” using magic items.
When it comes to things like bloodline curses, it really is just a matter of “thinking it can be done, and it’s done.”
Seeing that Xia Jia understood, Astraea continued: “The reason I’ve said so much is that I hope you, Xia-chan, can help me forge a weapon.”
“A weapon?”
“Yes.
I originally intended to ask a Wind Spirit to bestow a blessing upon it, but I have never been able to find one, and the negotiations with the spirits I did know did not go well.”
“But now that I have you, Xia-chan, who possesses ‘Mystery,’ it is the same thing.”
Astraea straightened her posture and waved her index finger as she explained:
“Spirits are known as the children of the gods.
To a certain extent, they also possess the authority of the ‘Gods.’ In this Lower World where the gods’ powers are sealed, if you want to give a weapon special power, you cannot do without them.”
Xia Jia understood.
There were cases where Spirits could be turned into mounts or weapons.
Most of the heroes of ancient times achieved their respective legends through contracts with Spirits.
Although local gods have now descended and “Falna” abilities have appeared that are better than Spirit contracts, the inherent “talents” of the Spirits themselves cannot be replaced.
For instance…
The sturdy and incredibly useful “African God of War” Spirit cloth was said to be something a Spirit made just for fun.
And regarding his own skill, [Mystical Yearning], Xia Jia had his own ideas.
“My skill is a bugged ability that allows me to temporarily possess high-level ‘Mystery’ by relying on the target I yearn for!”
“Although I don’t know the proficiency level of Fels, the Great Sage who developed ‘Mystery’ to its peak and is still alive today…”
“But judging by her level, ‘Mystery’ at its peak can even craft monster items like the [Philosopher’s Stone]!”
Xia Jia scanned his own magic and skill configuration, and a devious idea popped into his head.
Speaking of which…
“Then, Astraea-sama,” Xia Jia said with a serious expression.
“Yes?”
“Please help me become more proficient!”
“Eh?
Proficient…
you mean?” Astraea tilted her head, her gaze drifting toward the bed.
“It’s about ‘Mystery’!” Xia Jia blushed: “My skill requires a ‘target’!
Therefore, as the god who possesses the greatest mystery in the Lower World, you are my best target!”
“Please, feel free to train me!”
“Very well!”
