Fujimaru Ritsuka, nicknamed Gudao, was a transmigrator from Earth.
While playing Fate/Grand Order, he hit hard pity three times in a row and smashed his phone in a fit of rage.
The phone promptly exploded, and its fiery blast transported him to another world.
After transmigrating, he found himself in Gudao’s body and was dumped into a gloomy forest.
Before crossing worlds, Ritsuka had been nothing more than an otaku.
He had never experienced anything like this and was immediately forced into a brutal struggle for survival.
He couldn’t defeat the wild boars or even climb a tree.
With neither food nor clean water, he endured three miserable days before finally collapsing in the forest.
When Ritsuka woke again, he found himself lying in a bed.
Beside him sat a beautiful young woman with long walnut-brown hair, indigo eyes resembling a starry sky, a gentle and sacred presence, and an exceptionally generous bust.
Realizing she had saved him, Ritsuka immediately declared that he would repay her for saving his life—even if he had to offer himself in marriage!
The beautiful woman froze at his sudden declaration.
After a long pause, she smiled and explained that he was at the Astraea Familia’s home, Starrest Lodge.
She was Astraea, a goddess who had descended from Heaven.
She had merely found him unconscious in the forest and helped someone in need, so she expected nothing in return.
Ritsuka refused to accept that.
“How could I possibly do that?
A life-saving debt must be repaid!” From the moment he saw her, the former otaku had already recognized both her identity and the world he had entered.
He was in the world of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and the woman before him was Goddess Astraea.
She was the goddess symbolizing justice and order, as well as the patron goddess of the Astraea Familia.
DanMachi’s most popular heroines were usually the blue-ribboned Hestia or the golden-haired Ais, but Astraea had always been Ritsuka’s favorite.
She was a central character in the later side story Astraea Record.
Knowing her identity and personality, Ritsuka openly admitted that he was a transmigrator.
He then asked to join her Familia so he could repay her kindness.
Revealing that secret to another god might have been dangerous, but Astraea was different.
She was gentle, compassionate, and overflowing with sympathy.
Learning that Ritsuka came from another world only made her pay even more attention to him.
After all, Ritsuka truly had no family, friends, or anyone else he could rely on in this world.
As expected, Astraea deeply sympathized with his circumstances and wanted to help this child from another world.
However, the Astraea Familia was currently in a difficult position.
She worried that she would be unable to provide him with enough support.
Ritsuka insisted that he did not care about the Familia’s circumstances.
He only wanted to repay the goddess who had saved his life.
And so, he successfully joined the Astraea Familia.
The moment he received his Falna, he also awakened his personal cheat ability—the Heroic Spirit Possession System!
Since he had already become Gudao, how could he possibly stop playing Fate/Grand Order?
The Heroic Spirit Possession System was almost identical to the game he had played before transmigrating.
He could use Saint Quartz to summon Heroic Spirits from a gacha and then equip their cards to possess their powers.
The method was simple.
He merely had to equip the summoned Heroic Spirit cards on his party screen.
The first party slot was permanently occupied by Ritsuka himself and could not be changed, but the remaining five slots were available.
As the party leader, Ritsuka could use the talents and Noble Phantasms of the five Heroic Spirits equipped behind him.
However, he had to pay the magical energy required to activate their Noble Phantasms himself.
Using the Saint Quartz from his beginner’s gift pack, Ritsuka summoned the Great Hero Arash and Hassan of the Hundred Faces.
Everyone knew Arash, the famous suicide archer and undisputed king of EXP farming in FGO.
He entered the battlefield, charged his Noble Phantasm, wiped out the enemy wave, and removed himself from the field in one seamless sequence.
In the game, everyone loved the suicide archer because he was simply too useful!
Reality was a different matter.
What did the suicide archer’s Noble Phantasm do?
It made him explode!
He fired one arrow, annihilated the enemy, and killed himself in the process.
How could Ritsuka possibly dare to use something like that in real life?
Fortunately, Arash remained extremely useful even without his Noble Phantasm.
Clairvoyance combined with the archery knowledge engraved into his Spirit Origin allowed Ritsuka to detect enemies from incredible distances and kill them with a single long-range arrow.
Arrow Construction allowed him to create arrows from magical energy, ensuring he would never run out of ammunition.
Robust Health EX granted him tremendous physical strength, making heavy labor effortless.
In close combat, he could even swing his longbow like a club and beat enemies with it.
However, a Noble Phantasm would always be the most important part of a Heroic Spirit’s arsenal.
It was the ultimate weapon representing their legend.
Being unable to use Arash’s Noble Phantasm meant losing his greatest power, which was an enormous waste.
That was where Ritsuka’s second summoned Heroic Spirit, Hassan of the Hundred Faces, became important.
Hundred Faces’ Noble Phantasm was not used against an enemy.
Instead, it divided the user into clones formed from different personalities.
The original body could control how many clones were created and how much magical energy each one received.
Ritsuka could use every skill and Noble Phantasm belonging to the Heroic Spirits in his party.
As a veteran of Online shitposting, he quickly came up with a brilliant idea.
He would use Hundred Faces’ Noble Phantasm to create a clone, then make the clone self-destruct!
After all, any clone created from him was still Fujimaru Ritsuka.
It was true that the deaths of Hundred Faces’ clones normally damaged their Spirit Origin.
However, Ritsuka had never inherited Hundred Faces’ Spirit Origin.
He was merely borrowing their Noble Phantasm.
So what grounds did anyone have to claim that his clones would consume a Spirit Origin when they died?
Once the idea entered his mind, Ritsuka immediately performed an experiment.
The results were absolutely perfect!
His clones could activate Arash’s Noble Phantasm without harming the original body in the slightest.
The strength of the explosion depended on how much magical energy Ritsuka allocated when creating the clone.
More energy produced a stronger blast, while less energy weakened it.
It was effectively a slightly weaker version of Arash’s self-destructive Noble Phantasm that required no sacrifice whatsoever.
He could even fire several of them in succession!
It was perfect!
Arash, who had initially seemed like a disappointing summon, instantly became Ritsuka’s greatest enforcer.
This was the Noble Phantasm combination he had used to kill the eight bandits outside Orario.
He first created a crazed clone using five percent of his magical energy, then ordered it to self-destruct.
The clone appeared, unleashed its Noble Phantasm, killed every target, and vanished in one flawless sequence!
With such a powerful trump card, Ritsuka decided to venture into Orario.
He would also announce the return of the Astraea Familia to the entire city!
Justice would inevitably prevail, and every form of evil would be brought to judgment!
Astraea was deeply worried about Ritsuka.
Although he had displayed extraordinary talent through his Heroic Spirit passives and immense power through their Noble Phantasms, she still feared something might happen to him.
As a transmigrator, she thought Ritsuka knew almost nothing about the darkness hidden within Orario.
However, he refused to give up and repeatedly declared that he would make the Astraea Familia great again.
Unable to change his mind, Astraea personally trained him in the basics for an entire month.
Once his physical abilities had improved considerably, she allowed him to travel to Orario as a member of the reborn Astraea Familia.
Ritsuka remained true to his word.
On his very first day in Orario, he annihilated a bandit gang composed of adventurers and made the name of the Astraea Familia resound throughout the city.
