“Shh……”

Qin Suining quickly grabbed Madam Zhou’s hand and brought her back into the space.

Without waiting for a response, she quickly stepped out of the space again.

Madam Zhou wanted to follow, but there was no way to do so.

In the darkness, Qin Suining soon saw two figures sneaking into the courtyard—one tall, one short.

“How is it? Are they dead yet?”

A woman’s voice came from behind. It was clearly a middle-aged woman—Grandma Gui, without a doubt.

“Mother, don’t rush. Since we’re here, even if they aren’t dead, we’ll make sure they die.”

The tall man in front was a strong-built male voice. He was likely Grandma Gui’s son.

“I’ll go in and take a look. Mother, stay here and make sure no one escapes.”

With that, he carried a gleaming steel blade and entered the house.

Grandma Gui stood guard at the door, holding a thick wooden club as big as a wrist.

Heh.

So they truly intended to kill both mother and daughter.

Qin Suining gritted her teeth and quietly took out a dagger.

This had been taken from Cuizhu. She had kept it for self-defense.

Using the space as cover, she crept silently behind Grandma Gui.

There was no time to delay—otherwise they would soon realize the house was empty.

With a cold expression, Qin Suining raised the dagger and stabbed straight into Grandma Gui’s back.

“Puchi—!”

The blade pierced through cleanly.

Grandma Gui only let out a hoarse sound before collapsing to the ground.

The man inside immediately sensed something was wrong and rushed out with his blade.

“Mother! Mother, what happened?!”

He tried to lift her, but his hands were instantly covered in sticky blood.

The dagger was quickly taken back into the space by Qin Suining.

One strike succeeded—her confidence surged.

If she could take down the son as well, their plan would proceed and they could gain a few days of peace.

Without resting, she once again stepped out of the space holding the bloodied dagger.

The man, realizing his mother was beyond saving, flew into rage and swung his blade wildly.

“Coward hiding in the dark! If you have the guts, come out and fight me one-on-one!”

He shouted angrily, but no one responded.

Hiding behind a pillar, Qin Suining sneered slightly.

A crow laughing at a pig for being black—breaking into someone’s home at night and yet acting righteous.

Besides, she was just a ten-year-old girl. How could she be called a “heroic man”?

As the man searched around, he was getting closer and closer to her hiding spot.

Just as he was about to discover her, Qin Suining quickly slipped back into the space.

The moment he turned away again, she reappeared and struck once more with the dagger.

This time, she aimed for his neck.

Blood instantly spurted out, splashing all over her face.

The strong smell of blood nearly made her vomit on the spot.

Fortunately, the man collapsed to the ground with a thud, completely lifeless.

Only then did Qin Suining gather the courage to step forward and kick the blade away.

At this moment, she finally felt fear rising.

Her clothes were soaked in cold sweat, her back completely chilled.

The matter was settled.

She quickly brought Madam Zhou out of the space.

Madam Zhou had been pacing anxiously inside. Seeing the scene outside, she ignored her fear and immediately pulled Qin Suining over to check her.

“You child, always so bold. Next time something like this happens, let Mother go first……”

She was a mother—of course she should stand in front of her daughter.

“I’m fine, Mother. Let’s proceed with the plan.”

Qin Suining wiped the blood from her face and confirmed the man was truly dead.

Their original plan was based on Cuizhu’s information—only Grandma Gui had come.

They hadn’t expected her to secretly bring her son as well.

Now that there was an extra person, the plan had to change.

“Let’s put him into the space first. We’ll deal with him after we’ve gone farther.”

A grown man couldn’t be carried far by hand alone—they needed the space.

Although reluctant, Qin Suining still stored the corpse inside.

As for Grandma Gui, Madam Zhou dragged her into the house and placed her together with Cuizhu.

They searched the bodies and found two heavy money pouches.

Grandma Gui also carried several gold and silver accessories—clearly bestowed by her mistress. Madam Zhou removed them all without hesitation.
