In Conner’s farm backyard, the air once again distorted from the speed of our movements.

“Too slow, Conner!”

Karen’s teasing voice echoed right behind my right ear.Full novel: DC: Reincarnated with the Superboy Template — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Before I could react or activate my Kryptonian reflexes, I felt a light but firm strike to the back of my knees that made me lose my balance.

I let out a muffled groan as I fell backward onto the grass, kicking up a small cloud of dirt.

Karen landed softly beside me, floating a few inches above the ground with her arms crossed beneath her chest and an incredibly arrogant smile that shattered any attempt at maintaining seriousness.

Her blue eyes sparkled with amusement as she looked down at me lying on the ground.

“You have the strength, but you get distracted way too easily by my movements,” she joked, extending a hand to help me up.

“At this rate, Laurel is going to keep using you as a punching bag in every training session.”

“Hey, I’m doing the best I can,” I replied with a smile, accepting her hand and springing back to my feet.

I brushed the grass off my clothes and let out a sigh.

“Well, at least I have better control over my powers.”

I murmured that to myself as I clenched my fists excitedly.

Who wouldn’t be damn happy in my position?

Going from being a completely ordinary person in my previous life to now possessing amazing powers identical to Superman’s…

and best of all, being accompanied by two beautiful and powerful Kryptonian women who helped me improve every day.

Aside from combat practice, the three of us had established an unbreakable daily routine: every morning we sunbathed at the highest point of the farm to recharge our cells with yellow solar radiation, and then we trained in turns.

“Now that I’m done with combat practice, I’ll test my senses.

Sometimes controlling the volume of everything is a real problem,” I murmured, taking a deep breath and focusing my abilities on the subtle creaking of the air around the blonde.

“Dinner is ready!”

Suddenly, Laurel’s melodic voice echoed from inside the house.

Conner and Karen stared at each other for a second and then smiled.

That was the official signal to end training for the day.

Immediately, both of us lifted off the ground and flew at low altitude toward the entrance of the house.

A few minutes later, while we were quietly having dinner in the main dining room, I couldn’t help but think once again about the future Superman who was about to arrive in this world.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t remember the exact date of his arrival, but I knew for certain that it happened sometime during October; what I didn’t know was the exact day.

We were currently in October, which meant his arrival had to be ridiculously close.

My philosophical thoughts were abruptly interrupted by Karen and Laurel’s sudden reaction.

Far from Earth, in the usually silent vacuum of space, the stillness was broken by the advance of a small capsule of advanced technology and pure alien design moving at super speed.

BOOM!

A brutal sonic explosion shook the high clouds above the continent as the craft broke the sound barrier, diving directly toward the endless fields of Kansas.

“Girls…

what’s wrong?” I asked in confusion, setting my fork and spoon down on the table when I noticed both blondes suddenly becoming completely rigid in their seats.

To be honest, I already had a pretty good idea of what might have happened.

Although I also possessed super senses, the constant overload of auditory information still bothered me a lot in daily life, so I preferred to completely shut them off whenever I was at home.

I wasn’t worried about doing that in the slightest, since I was living with two elite military superwomen who could immediately warn me if something dangerous happened.

For a normal human in the town of Smallville, the sound of the impact would take several seconds or even minutes to arrive because of the distance between the farms, but the girls heard it instantly.

The subtle disturbance in the air, the magnetic vibration of the atmosphere, and the violent electromagnetic shock of that spacecraft landing in the distant Kent fields were all perfectly detected by them.

Karen turned her head, staring through the wooden walls of the house toward the distant horizon, where a faint trail of fire and smoke was beginning to stain the southwestern sky.

“Did you feel that?” Conner murmured.

“Yes…” both of them replied at the same time, their expressions serious.

Leaving dinner half-finished, I quickly stepped out onto the farm porch and stared at the sky.

Suddenly, my breathing sped up slightly at the sight before me.

Both girls came out behind me and looked at me with confusion and a clear note of concern on their faces, but I quickly assured them it was nothing.

Inside, however, my mind was a chaotic mess of frustration.

‘What I was afraid of happened…

if this keeps up, it means I’m not entirely in the Smallville universe,’ I thought with a trace of bitterness in my chest.

Because if my calculations were correct, Superman himself had just arrived on Earth at the neighboring farm.

But in the original television series, Kal-El was supposed to arrive hidden within a massive, catastrophic, and noisy meteor shower that destroyed half the town…

I looked upward again.

The night sky above us was completely clear, dotted with peaceful stars and showing not the slightest sign that any green rocks were about to fall on our heads.

‘A completely clear sky…’ I thought bitterly, clenching my teeth.

We were in Smallville, yes, and the Kents were our distant neighbors…

but unfortunately, in the end, this universe belonged to a different DC timeline.
