6 – I Am System K
Opening those images, aside from a certain popular young actor and a heavily promoted newcomer from some company among the official announcements, only two caught her attention the most…
One was the original female lead, Yang Qianqian, and the original male lead, Zhao Rui.
The original book’s main couple was also participating in this dating show.
Shi Yuan opened the repost and casually scanned the comments.
【Wuwu! Why is Shi Yuan here! Is she going to bully Qianqian in Love’s Heart?!】
【Don’t worry, our Qianqian is a Lucky charm with great fortune. Even if Shi Yuan tries to cause trouble, she’ll only face backlash! Everyone hurry to Qianqian’s V-Blog to make a wish and ward off bad luck!】
【But to be fair, putting aside moral judgments, Shi Yuan’s looks are absolutely stunning.】
【Hahaha, this season of Love’s Heart is definitely going to be ‘exciting’ – waiting for the two sides to tear into each other.】
Shi Yuan took a few sips of coffee, thinking these people really had endless energy. Just talking about her had generated over ten thousand comments.
She could already imagine what the Live comments would look like if she joined this variety show.
Although In Love and Aflutter was currently the hottest dating show, and even adopted the model of live broadcast followed by edited television broadcast, this completely one-sided criticism still made her somewhat weary.
Just as Shi Yuan was contemplating whether to participate, a small glowing sphere drifted gradually toward her.
It finally hovered about a dozen centimeters away from her.
Shi Yuan paused mid-sip, her curled lashes fluttering slightly. What in the world was this?
A firefly?
A UFO?
While Shi Yuan narrowed her eyes to carefully examine the little thing,
a faint voice emerged from the floating sphere.
“Wuwu~ She’s so pretty!”
Shi Yuan: “??”
For some reason, she seemed to sense a dorky vibe from this glowing sphere.
She set down her coffee cup, first subtly shifting her sitting posture before swiftly reaching out to grab it, easily catching the little thing in her palm.
“Ah! What’s happening!”
Shi Yuan only heard a startled exclamation, and when she reopened her hand, the little thing had vanished.
Shi Yuan frowned. She clearly caught it – so where did it go?
【Ding dong!】
【Binding successful! Thank you for using the Sudden Mission System!】
【I am System Xiao K, pleased to be at your service.】
An unfamiliar voice suddenly appeared in her mind, but Shi Yuan didn’t panic. She quietly waited for the voice to completely fade before speaking.
“System?”
【Host can communicate with me mentally – I can hear everything.】
Unlike the previous mechanical and serious tone, this voice carried clear human-like qualities.
Shi Yuan closed her mouth, 【Are you that glowing sphere from earlier?】
【(Ｔ▽Ｔ) Yes, that was me.】
Seeing the vivid emoticon, Shi Yuan chuckled lightly, 【What’s going on? And what is this Sudden Mission System?】
【Well… about what happened, Xiao K doesn’t really know either. Xiao K was just taking a stroll, saw how beautiful you were, came over to look a bit longer, and then got pulled by an irresistible force to bind with you.】
Came to look longer because she was pretty? And then got bound to her?
Though it felt somewhat perfunctory, it wasn’t entirely impossible.[The Sudden Mission System is the full name of the system hosted by Xiao K. As long as the host completes the tasks issued by the System, they will receive corresponding rewards! The rewards are very generous!]
Shi Yuan shifted her sitting position.
[Can I not do them?]
Right now, all she needs to do is survive in this world for one year to get thirty million. With thirty million, she can retire comfortably and doesn’t need to go through the trouble of doing these tasks.
[No~ If you don’t complete the tasks, you will be punished.]
[Moreover, host, Xiao K has just detected that your life expectancy is only three years left. If you don’t complete the tasks, you’ll be lying flat on a board in three years.]
Shi Yuan ignored Xiao K’s choice of words and focused on the key point. [Three years?]
[That’s right! Your current life expectancy is only three years. But as long as you diligently complete the tasks, you can exchange for the Live-to-100 Item in Xiao K’s System Store!]
As she said this, Xiao K opened the System Store.
It directly jumped to the Live-to-100 Item.
Shi Yuan checked the price.
A one at the front, followed by seven zeros.
