Of course, Shen Mu wasn’t going to do nothing. So he hinted within his own circle about the coming apocalypse. At least until those rumors were proven false, no one dared to take over the Shen Group’s assets anymore.

At the same time, Shen Mu unexpectedly activated the space inside the jade pendant he had worn since childhood. After a leaf-shaped mark appeared on his chest, he finally realized how Jiang Yun’s space ability had worked in his previous life.

Back then, about five months before the apocalypse, he had lost that jade pendant after getting drunk at a family dinner. He searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. Later, when the apocalypse came, he heard that Jiang Yun had awakened dual abilities, one of which was an extremely powerful space ability.Full novel: Deep in the Mountains at the End of the World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Looking at the vast, endless space in front of him now, Shen Mu’s expression turned cold. As expected of that pair—both of them used such dirty methods.

With this space, along with his huge wealth and connections, Shen Mu was able to stockpile supplies on a much larger scale and far more efficiently than Cheng Feng.

Although many areas in the space were still locked, upgrading it only required gold, silver, and jade. For someone as rich as him, that was nothing—he had more money than he could spend.

Even though prices overseas had risen a lot because of the apocalypse rumors and things were becoming chaotic, Shen Mu still went crazy stockpiling supplies.

Meanwhile, when Shen Mu activated the space, Shen Ke and Jiang Yun suddenly felt a sharp pain in their chests, coughed up blood, and both fainted. They were rushed to the hospital.

When they woke up, the feeling of having lost something important still lingered. The terrifying scenes from the apocalypse in their dreams made them shudder.

With just one look at each other, they both knew the other had the same dream.

“Brother Ke, what should we do now?” Jiang Yun looked pale. She had invested all her money into the Shen Group and had also taken part when Shen Mu sold off his stocks and assets.

She hadn’t expected the online rumors about the apocalypse to actually be true. When it came, stocks would become worthless paper, houses and cars would lose their value, and even jewelry wouldn’t be enough to trade for food.

What she needed now was liquid cash to buy and stockpile as many supplies as possible. Only then could she gain an advantage in the apocalypse.

Shen Ke had clearly thought of this too. His expression was grim—not because he feared the apocalypse, but because he believed he had an advantage. Turning his assets into cash shouldn’t be difficult for him.

What troubled him was something else. “Shen Mu suddenly cashed out all his assets… could it be that he also knows the apocalypse is coming? Did he have the same dream, or some other opportunity?”

Jiang Yun’s face darkened.

“If that’s true, then I really look down on him. Even if he doesn’t care about you as his brother, how could he harm his own father? And he didn’t tell anyone—not even your father. Does that mean he doesn’t care about him either?”

Shen Ke spat angrily. “Father was right. He’s an ungrateful wolf who can’t be raised properly!”

They kept criticizing Shen Mu, but once they realized their assets were hard to sell, their complaints would only get worse.

Meanwhile, after Cheng Feng received this unexpected sum of money, he decided to use it immediately.

He had already stocked up on everything he could; now it was just a matter of quantity. With the 1.33 million, he planned to go abroad again and exchange it for energy resources.

He had bought some before, but his budget had been limited, and he always felt it wasn’t enough. With this money, it should finally be sufficient.

After returning to the country again, Cheng Feng made a trip to Shanghai to deliver supplies to Wang Yue and Shen Mu.

He contacted them in advance. Wang Yue gave him her address. Since it was a standalone villa, delivering supplies wouldn’t attract attention. Cheng Feng drove a van directly into her garage.

At that time, there were still five months before the apocalypse.

Seeing Cheng Feng standing in front of her—wearing a baseball cap and mask, completely covering himself—Wang Yue asked in surprise, “Why did you come in person?”

She had thought he would send someone else, since he had told her earlier that the “gift” they talked about had arrived in Shanghai and asked for her address. She assumed it was a delivery package. Instead, it was a van—and he was the driver.

“Sister Wang, long time no see.” Cheng Feng stepped forward and gave her a light hug, then said quietly, “It’s supplies. I don’t feel safe letting someone else deliver them.”

Wang Yue was about to say there was nothing to worry about—everyone was stockpiling anyway, and her home wasn’t noticeable—but her husband tugged her arm and reminded her, “Cheng feng is right. You shouldn’t show your wealth. If someone else delivered it, word might leak.”

Wang Yue thought about it and agreed, so she said nothing more.

Cheng Feng glanced at her husband, nodded, and motioned for them to go to the back of the van.

When he opened it, the van was packed full of supplies. Even Wang Yue’s husband was shocked—he hadn’t expected this much. He had heard that Cheng Feng was struggling financially, even selling his car and house to pay for his grandfather’s medical treatment.

Cheng Feng said, “There’s rice, flour, oil, and other staples, as well as high-calorie food and medicine. Store them properly—they’ll last a long time. There are also some barrels of gasoline. They might be useful someday, so store them carefully. And also…”

He motioned for them to come closer. Even in the garage, it was better to be cautious.

He pulled a wooden box forward slightly, opened it just enough for them to see what was inside, then quickly closed it.

The couple was so shocked they couldn’t speak. Cheng Feng didn’t bother comforting them and simply said seriously, “It’s real. I got it through special channels so you can protect yourselves. But there’s only a limited amount—each use reduces it. While things are still stable, you should practice using it.”

Only then did they fully process it.

Wang Yue felt both touched and frightened. She slapped his arm lightly, her eyes red. “What are you doing? This is illegal…”

Her husband wrapped an arm around her shoulders, stopping her from continuing. He worked in meteorology and believed more strongly in the coming apocalypse. He understood the true value of what Cheng Feng had brought.

He looked at Cheng Feng with complicated emotions.

He had always known his wife cared deeply about one of her artists and had even been suspicious before. But after talking openly with her, he stopped doubting her, though he still didn’t like Cheng Feng much.

Later, when his wife lent Cheng Feng money and didn’t ask for it back, he felt a bit uncomfortable—not because of Cheng Feng, but because he thought his wife cared too much about outsiders. After all, who wants their partner to value outsiders more than family?

But now, he had to admit his wife had good judgment. She hadn’t helped the wrong person.

This kind of item wasn’t easy to obtain, and even if someone managed to get it, very few would be willing to give it away.
