Zhou Wanning had no idea he could be so beastly.
An hour later, she was held on his lap, eating the dinner he fed her.
Zhou Wanning’s body trembled uncontrollably.
For the first time, she truly felt how terrifying this man was.
He didn’t let her wear clothes—not even a shirt—leaving her completely bare as she sat on his lap.
Zhou Wanning couldn’t eat any more. She turned her head away from his hand, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s hum. “I… I can’t eat anymore.”
“Full?”
“Mm.”
Lu Jinzhou set down the spoon. “Then it’s Ningning’s turn to feed me.”
Just as she reached for the spoon, he lifted her up again and carried her toward the bedroom.
Zhou Wanning realized what kind of “feeding” he meant.
She kicked her legs. “No, Lu Jinzhou, no. Please, I’m in pain.”
It really did hurt.
Lu Jinzhou frowned deeply and laid her on the bed.
It was swollen. “I’ll have someone bring medicine later.”
Zhou Wanning grabbed his hand. “Contraception… contraceptive pills.”
Last night and today, he hadn’t used any protection, and besides…
Her deer-like eyes gazed at him with fear.
Lu Jinzhou wasn’t angry, though. He pinched her chin. “Don’t want to have my child?”
Zhou Wanning panicked, unsure how to answer correctly. Not only was he Zhou Leyu’s boyfriend, but even if they were both single, they had only known each other for two days.
How could she possibly have a child for a man who was practically a stranger?
Yet she forced herself to reply against her true feelings, “N-no, it’s not that. I’ve been drinking. It wouldn’t be good for the baby… not healthy.”
Lu Jinzhou pursed his lips and chuckled, stroking her head. “Mm, not for now.”
He hadn’t had enough of her yet—how could he possibly want a child?
Zhou Wanning breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t dare show it.
“C-can I have something to wear? I… I’m not used to this.”
He had already had clothes prepared for her but hadn’t given them to her yet.
He teased wickedly, “Want to wear clothes? Then Ningning will have to do something in exchange.”
Zhou Wanning hated that she understood his meaning, but she pretended not to. “What should I exchange?”
“What do you think, Ningning?”
Zhou Wanning’s lips trembled as she suppressed the discomfort in her heart, her eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings.
Her swollen lips pressed against his lips, which were neither too thin nor too thick, but she didn’t take the next step.
Lu Jinzhou cupped the back of her head, his eyes half-closed as he gazed at her.
When he released her, Zhou Wanning felt as though she had nearly been sent to the brink.
His thumb pressed against her lips, his tone tinged with mockery. “Ningning is already twenty-five. How come you still don’t know how to kiss?”
Then, with a hint of jealousy, he asked, “Has that useless Luo Shuhang ever kissed Ningning?”
He had, but could she tell the truth?
Mentioning Luo Shuhang filled Zhou Wanning with overwhelming resentment.
If it weren’t for Luo Shuhang, she wouldn’t have been drugged, nor would she have ended up like this with Lu Jinzhou.
His hand suddenly gripped her waist. “What else has he done? Hmm? Has he touched you here, here, or here?”
Zhou Wanning tried to evade his touch, but she was in his arms—where could she possibly go?
“No, no, he never touched me,” Zhou Wanning denied, shaking her head.
Lu Jinzhou’s lips brushed against her collarbone. “Be good, Ningning. From now on, you belong only to me.”
Zhou Wanning’s heart pounded like a drum. Listening to his domineering words, she wondered—what was she going to do?
How could she possibly share a man with her sister?
Now, she didn’t dare anger this man and could only pretend to be obedient.
Just leave—as long as she could get away from here, everything would be fine.
When the medicine was delivered, Zhou Wanning first took the contraceptive pill, then picked up the ointment and headed for the bathroom, only to be pulled back by Lu Jinzhou.
“Let me help you.”
Zhou Wanning tightened her grip on the ointment. “No, it’s fine. I can do it myself.”
He pried her fingers open and took the ointment. “I caused this, so I should be the one to treat it.”
She was pushed onto a single-seat sofa by Lu Jinzhou, her legs propped up on the armrests.
The humiliating position brought tears to Zhou Wanning’s eyes.
Yet the man was unusually serious at this moment, as if examining a precious artifact.
His movements were slow and torturous. Zhou Wanning covered her eyes, trying her best to ignore his hands.
“Don’t wear underwear for a while.”
Wh-what?
“Friction will hurt. I’ve prepared a long dress for you—no one will see.”
“No, that won’t do. I’m not in that much pain anymore.” The thought of going out without underwear made her shudder with disgust.
But Lu Jinzhou seemed not to hear her. “Be good. Remember to apply the medicine when you get back these next couple of days.”
In the end, Zhou Wanning wasn’t allowed to wear underwear. Fortunately, the dress was as he had said—long enough to reach her ankles.
Lu Jinzhou returned her bag to her, and Zhou Wanning immediately took out her phone, only to find it dead and powered off.
A new problem arose: how would she explain things when she got home?
Lu Jinzhou smoothed her hair. “Go home and rest early. I’ll pick you up for work tomorrow morning.”
She wanted to say no.
Sensing her reluctance, he asked, “What? Not happy about it?”
Meeting his sharp gaze, the pressure made it impossible for Zhou Wanning to voice her agreement.
“No, it’s just… if someone sees you picking me up, it wouldn’t… be good.”
He stroked the back of her head. “Don’t worry, no one will see.”
Zhou Wanning thought she would wake up extra early tomorrow and leave for school before he arrived.
Lu Jinzhou drove her to the Zhou residence. Zhou Wanning moved with astonishing speed, unbuckling her seatbelt and jumping out of the car.
But Lu Jinzhou still caught her. “Why are you running? Aren’t you going to say goodnight?”
“I… I need to use the bathroom.”
Even with that excuse, Lu Jinzhou didn’t let go. Right there, outside, he openly kissed her lips.
Zhou Wanning tried to push him away, but he grabbed her hand.
When he released her, her lips were glistening.
“Go on up. See you tomorrow.”
Zhou Wanning didn’t hesitate for a second, dashing upstairs.
Her home was in an old neighborhood without an elevator. The motion-sensor lights in the stairwell lit up floor by floor with her footsteps.
All the way to the fifth floor.
Zhou Wanning opened the door and entered. The entire house was eerily quiet.
She didn’t dare turn on the lights, feeling her way back to her bedroom. Only after switching on the light and putting on underwear did she regain a sense of security.
Changing into a long-sleeved set of pajamas, she knocked on her parents’ bedroom door.
There was no response for a long while. She pushed the door open, and moonlight streamed in, falling on the headboard. The bedding on the bed was neatly folded—her parents weren’t home.
Returning to her bedroom, she picked up her charging phone. After powering it on, several WeChat messages flooded in.
Among them was one from her father, saying he and Mother Zhou had gone on a trip and wouldn’t be back for half a month.
Why would they suddenly go on a trip? She hadn’t heard anything about them planning to leave.
A new WeChat message arrived.
It was from Luo Shuhang.
【Wanning, I’m sorry, but I won’t hold it against you. Please reply to me, okay?】
Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. After half a year together, she never realized this man could be so vile.
“Luo Shuhang, you’re not even human—you’re worse than an animal. From now on, I have nothing to do with you.”
After sending the message, she deleted all of Luo Shuhang’s contact information.
Zhou Wanning lay on the bed, letting her tears soak the pillowcase.
