15 – Tan Shen, be gentle with girls
The group heading backstage together clearly thought the same.
They all wanted to catch a glimpse of the true face of this mysterious, wealthy tycoon.
Just how rich did one have to be to casually drop nearly a billion on a necklace?
Unfortunately.
None of them saw him.
The ruby necklace, purchased for almost a billion, sat untouched in its display case.
“Incredible. He didn’t even rush to collect it after winning the bid—like it was just a game.”
“Hmph, probably bit off more than he could chew and doesn’t dare show up.”
As the man finished speaking, a staff member carefully handed Xie Yurao her jewelry with a polite smile.
“The esteemed guest who won the ruby necklace has already transferred the payment immediately.”
“…”
The man’s face instantly turned ashen, and he slunk away in embarrassment.
The staff member asked Xie Yurao, “Shall we deliver these to your car for you?”
Xie Yurao simply gathered her little treasures into her arms. “No need.”
Before leaving, she took one last look at the ruby necklace in the display case. Up close, its shimmering luster was breathtakingly beautiful.
“What a gorgeous treasure. Till we meet again~”
As Xie Yurao walked out from backstage, she happened to see a tall woman pass by her and enter the backstage area.
Then, a clear, cool voice drifted faintly from behind.
“I’m here to collect the ruby necklace.”
Xie Yurao glanced back, but the backstage door had already closed. All she caught was a fleeting glimpse of a tall, sleek ponytail, looking spirited and dashing.
“It’s actually a woman?” Xie Yurao raised an eyebrow slightly.
But she didn’t have time to dwell on it.
Not far ahead of her stood Lin Zhihan along with several socialites from Ancheng, each accompanied by bodyguards. They were all glaring at her with unfriendly expressions.
It seemed they had been waiting for her for quite some time.
“So this is the person you were talking about, Zhihan.”
One of the socialites spoke up first, crossing her arms as she looked Xie Yurao up and down with a sour, mocking smile. “What a fox-like face, and not even that pretty.”
Xie Yurao lifted her eyes to look at her.
Her tone was lazy. “True, I’m not as creatively designed as you.”
She blinked her beautiful fox-like eyes, staring right at the woman’s face, adding with infuriating casualness, “Must take a lot of courage to go out with a face like yours, huh?”
Though Xie Yurao wasn’t much of a fighter, her sharp tongue had never lost to anyone.
The socialite’s face turned livid with anger. “You—”
“No need to waste words on her.”
Lin Zhihan’s voice was cold. Having experienced Xie Yurao’s mouth before, she had no intention of engaging further.
“If you don’t like her, just deal with her directly.”
“…”
Xie Yurao pouted. Resorting to violence just because you can’t win an argument—how unsportsmanlike.
But her current situation wasn’t looking good.
Tan Shen wasn’t here.
Despite the young lady’s usual bravado, without Tan Shen, she was nothing but a defenseless little rookie.
And to make matters worse, the other side had numbers on their side.
“Zhihan is right. But it’s too crowded here. Let’s take her over and drag her into the restroom to deal with her properly.”
This group of so-called socialites had quite the delinquent vibe.
All they talked about was “dealing with her.” Could Xie Yurao tolerate this?
Of course she could.
Hugging her little treasures tightly, she turned and made a run for it.
“Stop her!”
Several bodyguards closed in from all sides, blocking Xie Yurao’s path.
Lin Zhihan sneered coldly. “Bring her here.”
A bodyguard made a move to grab Xie Yurao’s arm.
“Don’t touch me!”
Xie Yurao shot him a cold glance, her fox-like eyes icy and sharp, gleaming with a frosty, stern light.
The man was genuinely intimidated by her single look, his hand freezing mid-air.
Xie Yurao said, “I’ll go over myself.”
At the restroom entrance—
Lin Zhihan pushed Xie Yurao inside without hesitation. Stumbling slightly, the jewelry box in her arms scattered across the floor, rolling near her feet. Xie Yurao’s eyes instantly turned cold.
Seeing the person reduced to a captive, Lin Zhihan felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
“Scared, Miss Xie?”
Xie Yurao turned around, leaning against the sink, and chuckled lightly as she looked at her.
“Ridiculous. I’ve had my rabies shots—why would I be afraid of you?”
“…”
That sharp tongue of hers really was always dripping with venom.
Lin Zhihan kicked the restroom door open and strode step by step toward Xie Yurao.
“Xie Yurao, seducing people comes with a price. Today, I’m going to tear your—”
“Ah—”
Just as she raised her hand, before she could even touch Xie Yurao, a piercing scream echoed from behind her.
Then, one of her bodyguards was hurled through the air and landed right at her feet.
Lin Zhihan: “??”
She quickly turned her head and saw a man effortlessly lifting one of the bodyguards she had brought.
The man’s forearm bulged with veins as he delivered a fierce punch to the bodyguard’s abdomen, then tossed him aside like trash. His expression was stern, his thin lips pressed into a tight line.
He raised his cold, piercing eyes, gazing over from a distance with a deep, wolf-like intensity.
“Sit tight.”
His icy tone seemed to soften slightly at that moment.
Then he added, “I’ll finish this soon.”
A single sentence was enough to send chills of fear down one’s spine.
When Lin Zhihan turned back, she saw Xie Yurao stepping on the shoulder of the fallen man and leisurely sitting on the sink.
She swung her slender, snow-white legs casually, one after the other.
Meeting Lin Zhihan’s wide-eyed stare, she curved her red lips with amusement.
“Scared?”
“…”
Xie Yurao patted her shoulder and said with a smile, “Don’t worry, it’ll be your turn soon.”
“…”
The restroom entrance was completely blocked by the tall, imposing man. Alone, he had taken down all the bodyguards they had brought, leaving them piled haphazardly at the door.
The socialites huddled in a corner, screaming in fear.
Then the man strode over with long steps.
Lin Zhihan instinctively took a step back, trembling slightly.
Fortunately, the man simply walked past her and went straight to Xie Yurao.
Tan Shen didn’t say a word. He reached out, lifted her arm, and began examining her carefully.
The veins on the back of his hand still bulged from the recent fight, but his movements were gentle and cautious, as if inspecting a delicate porcelain doll.
Only when Xie Yurao said, “I’m fine,” did his actions pause.
Xie Yurao looked up at him and added, “But I’m very angry.”
Tan Shen: “Mm.”
Holding her slender, soft wrist in his palm, his voice was low. “My fault.”
Today was his failure.
“We’ll talk about punishment later.” Tan Shen glanced at the few girls he hadn’t laid a hand on.
He asked her, “How should we deal with them?”
Xie Yurao looked at the socialites huddled in the corner, swung her legs, and tilted her head thoughtfully.
“Tan Shen, you should be gentle with girls. How can you use such a crude word like ‘deal with’?”
“…”
One of the socialites immediately nodded, about to speak.
Then she heard Xie Yurao say, “Go open the doors of the toilet stalls. One, two, three, four… Huh, exactly six!”
The six socialites: “??”
What does she want to do?!
