Above the waterfall where Tanjiro usually fished, Urokodaki Sakonji brought Shin and Tanjiro for training in sensing the rhythm of water.
Of course, Urokodaki Sakonji knew that Shin no longer needed this training.
He could activate Water Breathing at will, clearly demonstrating a thorough understanding of the water’s rhythm.
This session was primarily for Tanjiro.
“Shin, Tanjiro, what you need to do today is become one with the water!” Urokodaki Sakonji said slowly to the two of them.
“Master, become one with the water?
Are you sure you’re not joking?” Tanjiro looked extremely surprised.
“Go now!” Urokodaki Sakonji did not bother explaining or wasting words with Tanjiro.
He simply kicked him off the waterfall.
Tanjiro thrashed about in mid-air before plummeting straight down.
Urokodaki Sakonji’s gaze then swept over to Shin.
Sensing the old man’s intention, Shin did not give him the chance to kick him down.
Instead, he jumped off the waterfall himself.
In mid-air, Shin began practicing Water Breathing.
Just as he was about to fall into the water like Tanjiro, he performed a somersault.
His right foot made first contact with the surface.
The flowing water seemed to freeze instantly, and Shin’s reflection appeared clearly on the surface.
One second, two seconds, three seconds passed.
Shin had not submerged at all.
Instead, he stood upright on the water’s surface as if on flat ground.
Then, where Shin’s feet touched the water, a ripple suddenly spread outwards. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.
After the ripples subsided, the water began to flow again.
At that moment, Shin slowly lowered his left leg and stood completely on the water’s surface.
Tanjiro, who suddenly popped his head out of the water, was astonished to see Shin standing on the surface.
This was incredible!
His master had not been joking; one really could become one with the water!
“Hmm!
Well done!” Urokodaki Sakonji, standing atop the waterfall, affirmed Shin’s performance.
“Shin-senpai, how did you do that?
That’s amazing!” Tanjiro could not contain his shock and excitement as he shouted up at Shin.
Shin slowly walked toward Tanjiro across the water, then stood before him and said, “Master the Water Breathing your master taught you, and you can do it too!”
…
After that day, Tanjiro gained an additional training exercise.
At Urokodaki Sakonji’s instruction, Shin would also guide Tanjiro during his training.
“Ughhhhh~ Nezuko!
I am water!
I am water!
I am~”
Facing the cascading waterfall, Tanjiro instinctively screamed, but ultimately succumbed to the force and fainted.
On the other hand, Shin, also standing beneath the waterfall, had become one with the water. Get faster updates on g.com.
The cascading water did not hit him directly but flowed silently around him.
Time flew by, and a year passed.
During this time, Tanjiro continued his training as always, gradually figuring out the secrets of breathing.
One day, Urokodaki Sakonji suddenly summoned Shin and Tanjiro to his side.
“Tanjiro, I have nothing more to teach you!”
Upon hearing this, Tanjiro was taken aback.
He had never imagined Urokodaki Sakonji would say such a thing to him.
Tanjiro had always felt there was still so much more he could learn from his master.
