Yuan Ming sensed something was wrong and leaned toward the glass. After seeing the Omega’s face clearly, his face was instantly covered in dark clouds. He slammed his dragon-head cane viciously against Ha Tu, strike after strike.
“You bastard! The one you caught is my younger brother! Yuan Zhong!”
Yuan Zhong was the child Yuan Jing had with an Omega at the age of 73. He was Yuan Jing’s youngest child, so even as an Omega, he was deeply loved by Yuan Jing.
In recent years, Yuan Jing had practically worshipped Yuan Zhong. If it were not for the gender restrictions of an Omega, he likely would have wanted Yuan Zhong to succeed him as Star Lord.
Ha Tu was terrified, quickly dodging and begging for mercy.
“Master Ming, I did not know who he was!”
“It was not me! I was framed! Master Ming!”
At that moment, the main entrance of the market was violently blasted open by a laser cannon. Piercing light poured in through the swirling debris, and guards in blue and white uniforms swarmed in with laser rifles, neutralizing the guests on the first floor in an instant.
The leading commander was none other than Song Qisheng.
Seeing Yuan Zhong in the cage, Song Qisheng roared, “The young master is indeed here! Protect the young master! Arrest everyone here; kill anyone who resists!”
Earlier today, the young master had been kidnapped by a servant from the Marshal’s estate. Upon learning of the situation, Song Qisheng had volunteered to lead the guards, tracking them all the way to the auction house. He had not expected these people to be so bold as to target the Star Lord’s head and dare to auction off his youngest son!
On the second floor, Yuan Ming saw the guards appear, and his rage intensified. He glared fiercely at Ha Tu. “I cannot be discovered. Fu Lin, escort me out of here!” Yuan Jing had already been making pointed insinuations about him potentially harming Yuan Zhong. If Yuan Jing found out he was also at the Wanxiang City auction, he would certainly believe this incident was connected to him!
Fu Lin said hurriedly, “Yes, Master Ming. Please follow me.”
Yuan Ming sat in his wheelchair and put on a tiger mask. Fu Lin pushed the wheelchair, and with Evans and the others, they escorted him through a secret passage in the second-floor box.
Ha Tu clutched the wound on his forehead and ordered his thugs to stop the guards from going upstairs. He followed them into the secret passage, his beady eyes shifting uneasily as he schemed.
Although someone had set him up today, the fact remained that the Star Lord’s Omega son was being auctioned as a sex slave at his establishment.
Even if he were innocent, given the Star Lord’s temperament, he would never be let off.
Moreover, Ha Tu looked up at Yuan Ming in the wheelchair; he estimated that Yuan Ming would likely kill him to silence him.
Thinking of this, Ha Tu suddenly took a turn and fled down a different secret passage.
Fu Lin noted, “Master Ming, Ha Tu is…”
“Ignore him! Let’s move!”
The guards had not expected the venue to have a second floor. Dozens of thugs rushed down from above, and in an instant, they were locked in a chaotic struggle with the guards.
Taking advantage of the confusion, Lu Jin knocked out a nearby guard and grabbed Chu Li’s hand, heading toward the roof.
“Ha Tu is trying to escape. Let’s go catch him!”
Ha Tu’s spacecraft was parked on the roof. No matter which secret passage he hid in, he would eventually have to go to the roof to escape.
However, on the stairs leading to the roof, Lu Jin and Chu Li encountered Yuan Ming and his group, who had just emerged from their passage.
Yuan Ming, wearing a tiger mask, raised his hand in a signal. Fu Lin quickly turned the wheelchair, taking Yuan Ming in the opposite direction.
Evans and the others stayed behind to block Lu Jin and Chu Li.
Despite the masks, Chu Li recognized at a glance that the thug in the center wearing a vicious dog mask was Evans.
An ugly person; even the mask they chose was a rabid dog.
The anger he had accumulated for so long erupted like molten lava. Chu Li could not help but clench his fists and threw a punch toward Evans.
Evans hurriedly dodged the attack and pulled a laser gun from his waist. Just as he raised the muzzle, Chu Li grabbed his wrist.
Chu Li muttered “Bastard” under his breath and kicked Evans squarely in the abdomen.
Evans doubled over in pain, his grip loosening, and the laser gun was kicked over toward Lu Jin.
Lu Jin picked up the gun and precisely sniped the knees of the remaining bodyguards, wounding them and bringing them to the ground.
Seeing this, Evans spat on the floor and turned to flee, but Chu Li grabbed his collar, pulling it tight until Evans’s face turned red. Evans suddenly turned, aiming a strike at Chu Li’s crotch. Chu Li had not expected him to be so vulgar and took a quick step back.
Fortunately, Lu Jin fired a timely shot into Evans’s arm. Evans immediately screamed in agony.
“Damn it! Why are you two small fries working so hard? Let me live, and I’ll guarantee you a life of wealth and…”
Before he could finish the sentence, Chu Li pinned him to the ground, tied his hands with his own shoelaces, and took off Evans’s foul-smelling sock to stuff it into his mouth, silencing his incessant, filthy talk.
“Save your energy for the guillotine,” Chu Li said.
Evans was so furious his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, but with the stinky sock blocking his mouth, he could not say a word. He panted heavily, his gaze catching the brown fragrant beads on Chu Li’s wrist. He froze for a second.
That bracelet looked familiar; where had he seen it before?
Before long, the guards found them and took Evans and the others away for questioning.
Chu Li and Lu Jin continued running toward the roof. Thinking about the direction Yuan Ming had fled, Chu Li could not help but ask, “Are we not going to chase the one in the tiger mask?”
Lu Jin replied, “Catch Ha Tu first.”
No matter what, Yuan Jing would still protect Yuan Ming. In the end, all responsibility for Wanxiang City and the star pirates would be shifted onto Ha Tu. Therefore, Ha Tu could not be allowed to escape.
When the two arrived at the roof, as expected, they saw Ha Tu clutching a black box, about to board a spacecraft.
Lu Jin pulled out his laser gun and fired directly at the spacecraft’s glass hatch. Terrified, Ha Tu fell to the ground, but even as he fell, he did not forget to hide the box under the bottom of the spacecraft.
He scrambled up to try and board again, but Lu Jin shot the control panel directly. The panel exploded in a shower of sparks and hissing electricity.
Seeing this, Ha Tu became enraged. He pressed the electronic ring on his wrist, and a blue and red mecha emerged from behind him. He took cover inside the mecha, activated the laser rounds, and began strafing toward Lu Jin and Chu Li.
“Die! All of you, die! If I can’t leave, I’ll make sure you all are buried with me!”
Other thugs from the market arrived as well, aiming their laser rifles and firing at the two.
A bullet narrowly grazed Chu Li’s face. Lu Jin grabbed Chu Li’s elbow and pulled him behind a shipping container.
“Watch out.”
An explosive round hit the container, blowing open the white crystal powder inside. The powder filled the air like snowflakes, drifting everywhere.
A muscular man in a black bodysuit rushed onto the rooftop, wielding two rapid-fire pistols. Bullets poured out like a rainstorm, accurately taking down the thugs on the roof.
Amidst the hail of bullets, the man retreated step by step, nimbly avoiding the attacks from Ha Tu’s mecha, and took cover behind a container.
“Sir, are you two alright?”
Lu Jin replied, “I am fine. Chen Mo, go downstairs and help the guards.” The guards below might not be able to handle the situation on their own.
“Understood.” Chen Mo tucked his guns behind his back and vaulted over the rooftop railing, climbing down the tall building by hand.
Chu Li watched in a daze. Through the muscle lines outlined by the black bodysuit, he had recognized Chen Mo’s identity: he was the Alpha from the auction whose mermaid line had extended into the thick hair.
“Chu Li was speechless.”
Did being an undercover agent nowadays require so much sacrifice?
Lu Jin glanced at the stunned Chu Li, activated his wristband to summon a white mecha, and pulled Chu Li into the cockpit.
“The person is gone; what are you still looking at?”
“Chu Li felt rebuked.” His face flushed as he was about to explain, but on the other side, Ha Tu rotated his guns and launched a sudden attack on the white mecha.
Although the white mecha’s hull was reinforced and unaffected by laser rounds, it still shook under the sheer force of the concentrated fire. Chu Li struggled to steady himself. The cockpit was small, leaving him with no choice but to huddle in Lu Jin’s arms.
This was a new mecha he had never seen before.
“Admiral, what should I do?”
Lu Jin lowered his head, his lips brushing past Chu Li’s ear. His deep voice seemed to pass through the ear canal straight to the heart. “Do not move.”
Chu Li went still instantly.
Lu Jin opened the control panel with one hand and moved the joystick with the other, dodging Ha Tu’s attacks.
Ha Tu retracted the ring of gun barrels on his arm and transformed the mecha’s shape. A laser cannon deployed from the mecha’s abdomen, aiming directly at the white mecha and firing a powerful shot. The white mecha was agile and nimbly avoided the shell.
The shell hit a supporting pillar, causing a section of the building to collapse instantly. The screams and wails of the people below were drowned out by the thunderous roar of the falling structure.
Downstairs, some Alpha guests feared their reputations would be ruined if they were caught. They grew bold and pulled out laser guns, shooting the guards on duty.
The guards immediately returned fire. Combined with the market thugs, the three parties engaged in a bloody battle within the crumbling building.
Song Qisheng led a group of guards through the secret passage. Halfway through, their path was blocked by a fallen floor slab. Behind them, the ground shook and buildings turned into debris as they fell. Trapped, Song Qisheng had no choice but to force open the slab ahead with explosives, running out of the passage in a panic.
On the roof, the two mechas attacked each other, causing the building to collapse and the surrounding ground to crack.
The blue-black mecha continued its assault but could not gain the upper hand. Growing desperate, it began strafing wildly in all directions, closing in on the white mecha. While firing its cannon, its other hand suddenly drew a laser longsword and slashed at the white mecha.
The massive phantom of the laser sword was larger than the white mecha itself. Lu Jin immediately deployed a protective shield made of a special alloy to block the strike. The pressure outside the shield cracked the ground, and the floor beneath the white mecha began to sink into a pit.
The white mecha had to lean forward, bending one leg to stabilize its stance. Inside the cockpit, the momentum caused Chu Li to fall against the glass canopy, his back pressed tightly against Lu Jin’s body.
Lu Jin asked, “Are you alright?”
“I am fine.” Chu Li shook his head. Catching a glimpse of the cracks in the ground, he suddenly realized there was something hidden beneath.
Through the dim light, he could vaguely see skeletal remains buried underground, piled up almost like a mountain.
These were all the Omegas who had died in Wanxiang City.
Chu Li looked toward another gap and met several pairs of dark eyes. He immediately realized the situation and turned. “Admiral, there are other Omegas locked in the basement.”
“Understood.” Lu Jin freed one arm, and a laser round hit the ground. The force of the explosion blew the floor tiles away, exposing a corner of the basement.
Dozens of Omegas with chained hands and feet, covered in filth, were huddled together. After their prison cage was blown open, they rushed out in excitement, calling for help from the guards.
“Help! There are people here! And over there too!”
There were locked people everywhere.
The entire basement was as large as a football field, divided into three zones: one for Omegas, one for exotic beasts, and one for dumping bodies.
The guards heard the voices and rushed out, looking down through the gaps. No matter what they saw, their faces turned white with horror.
