The sun sinks low and heavy, bleeding amber and rose across the western windows.
It catches in the dust that always drifts through the high rooms at this hour, turning each particle visible, slow, golden.
Outside, the light lies flat across the lawn, stretching the shadows of oaks and elms long and soft toward the east.
The air has cooled just enough to carry the smell of cut grass and something sweeter, jasmine or the last of the climbing roses on the trellis.
Insects rise from the hedges in small clouds, backlit, temporary constellations.
The evening itself arrives without hurry.
The sky shifts through stages of color, coral to violet to a deep blue that holds only at the very top of the sky for a moment before the first stars pierce through.
The wind has dropped to almost nothing, just enough to move the curtains once, twice, then let them fall still.

A small smile twitched in.
HVIS A new place.

I flinched at the sound echoing.
Me and Sakura immediately rushed upstairs without giving ourselves a moment to my jaw dropped.
I looked around at Kate’s room in absolute horror.
Feathers everywhere.
Sakura leaned towards.
“No respect for their elder sister huh?” I glared at her.
“You little demon!” Marcus yelled while chuckling swinging the pillow and hitting Kate’s face.
Kate laughed.
“Kuya!!!!” She yelled swinging the bed.
Marcus dodged it.
The pillow flew and directly hit my face.
The room froze.
“A-Ate….” Marcus stuttered.
I inhaled sharply and looked at their faces.
Their faces were filled with pure terror.
Thinking I would scold them.
Instead I laughed softly as Sakura chuckled next to me.
“Go to sleep kiddos!
You have school tomorrow.” Kate got down from her bed and came to me with pouting face and puppy eyes.
“Ate…” I crouched down to her level.
“Yes princess?” “Tell me and Kuya a bedtime story…” Her pout trembled.
I nodded while chuckling looking at her sweet adorable face.
“Hop on the bed you too!” I said excited.
