(A/N: Since you all are traumatized with the name Issac.

I will change it to Ezra.) Jay’s pov: As the sun hit my face through the thin curtains, warm and insistent, I finally peeled myself from the comfort of bed and shuffled toward the bathroom, where the shower waited with its promise of waking water.

I stood beneath the spray longer than necessary, letting it drum against my shoulders and run down my spine, watching the steam curl up toward the ceiling vent in lazy spirals.Full novel: Destiny (Jayfer) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The soap smelled of lavender and something sharper, mint perhaps, and I scrubbed methodically, rinsing away the last stubborn threads of sleep.

After, I toweled off with the thick one I’d hung over the radiator, still warm, and padded back to my room where the uniform waited across the chair back, pressed and waiting.

I dressed with care, buttoning the shirt slowly, adjusting the collar until it sat right, smoothing the fabric over my chest before stepping into the trousers and cinching the belt.

The mirror showed someone prepared, someone ready, though I still felt the softness of morning clinging to me.

Down the stairs I went then, hand gliding along the banister, until I emerged on the main floor and walked toward the dining area.

I froze.

Not because the maid had got everything ready.

The air carried the rich, comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee, dark and slightly bitter, weaving through the room like an invitation.

Beneath it, the warm, yeasty scent of baked bread lingered, still holding the heat of the oven, crusty and golden.

Bacon left its mark, that smoky, savory tang that clung to everything, mingling with the mild sweetness of butter melting slowly in its dish.

The fruit offered something brighter, clean and cutting through the heavier smells, citrus and berry sharpness that made the nose twitch awake.

Eggs, if they were scrambled soft, gave off a gentle, almost creamy warmth, while any sizzling sausages added their own spiced, fatty depth to the mix.

But…

Despite all this set up of the food.

So good and Yummy.

The air remained silent without any chaos of Sakura fighting with my little siblings.

Or no Marcus commenting or fighting with Kate for waffles.

I blinked slowly and groaned.

First day of school and yet they haven’t woken up.

They are going to be late.

My stomach grumbled.

Showing that I was hungry.

But If I sit down now.

Probably I will never stop eating.

I will inhale all the food by the time they all get up.

I muttered.

I cursed.

And sighed tiredly.

Taking care of them was truly hard.

I couldn’t even trust my own father.

My mind lingered near everytime he tries to talk to me.

All back to one question.

What if he gives up Marcus to Jeana?

Or worse Kate?

I truly hated him for that.

For not fighting hard enough for me.

“Ma’am?” The nearby maid called out.

I let out a sigh of tiredness.

“I will go wake them up.” I said to them, turning my back.

I went upstairs to Marcus’s room.

The only person who will probably get up faster.

I entered.

His room was neat.

Books arranged.

Uniform hung neatly for the first day.

I sat beside Marcus.

He instinctively reached out and nuzzled closer to me.

He was sweating.

Fear crushed my heart.

“Ate…Please.

Take me away from her.” He whimpered.

The smile vanished.

He was having a dream.

A dream I could never go inside and fight for him like I do physically.

A dream that I can never turn into fantasy.

“Hey…

Marcus.

Wake up baby.

It’s me.

Don’t be scared.” He gripped my hand tighter.

He slowly opened his eyes.

That’s when I noticed.

Fear.

Pure terror.

He immediately grabbed my and hugged me.

“H-Hey What happened.

Speak to me.” I said, trying not to panic.

He trembled.

“Jeana” He choked.

“I dreamed of her taking me away from you.” I hugged him tighter.

“That would never happen Marcus.

I am your one and only guardian.

You have me, kate.

mama Reycee and percy.

I will never give you to Fernandez.

I will get my inheritance.” He sniffed.

“How?

Aunt Katrina.

She’s trying to hurt you.” His voice cracked.

I smiled weakly.

“I will fight her.” It was a promise.

A promise to my brother.

“Dad?” He asked.

I looked away, avoiding his eyes.

“I don’t hat him Marcus.

Hate is a strong word.

I just wish he…

fought harder instead of being a coward.

You saw me getting bruised.

You saw my pain.

A pain a child shouldn’t have seen.” I looked back at, my eyes shimmering from tears.

“I won’t let anything happen to you or Kate.

I promise you that.” I whispered to him.

– – – – – A/N: I forgot to add.

Ella and Freya MAYBE be kinder to Jay.

I am not sure but yea.

Freya will be rude girl still.

Maybe a little kinder as she gets along with Jay.

You will see.
