Jay’s pov: HVIS.
New school, new beginning.
New chaos.
I sighed as I glanced.
I didn’t need to know about this school.
A school Tita gemma wanted me to study just because her son is there.
Or to be more exact.
My brother.
All sections had a good privilege and a good rooms while section E was treated like a garbage.
The thought of this is already making me pissed.
“Not going to go?” Sakura asked, leaning against the car.
“I want to…
But I don’t want to see that brother of mine who has grumpy face all morning and hates me for no reason…” I answered, my voice carrying absolute boredom.
I turned to Sakura slightly.
“Manage the paperworks.
I want to buy this school.” I said flatly, even though my voice carried the seriousness it deserves.
Sakura pushed herself of the car.
“Are you sure you want buy this school?
Plus why ask me to handle the paperworks while you assistant can?” I inhaled sharply.
“Your more efficient.” I didn’t bother for reply.
I walked of waving, not bothering to turn and look at her face.
The moment I evetered.
The place looked spacious, clean, sparkling.
Perfect for any kids.
My gaze scanned everywhere.
I already got all the information needed on this school.
And honestly this school was a worthless trash.
A biased place.
Especially for section E.
I turned around slowly as my eyes fell on a group of people.
I saw Aries, his arm hanging around a girl while he laughed with a boy who’s hair was curly.
Suddenly he tensed up.
Like he sensed my presence.
His eyes immediately moved looking around for the connection as he removed his arm from the girl.
Finally it met mine.
I raised an eyebrow at his clenched Jaw the moment his eyes landed on mine.
I didn’t bother with ‘hi’ or ‘hello’ Back when I was young it felt good.
I wanted to stick around him.
But now it rebukes me to know how clingy I was.
How desperate I was for his attention.
I rolled my eyes as I gripped my phone tighter on my hand.
I turned to walk away.
“Jay!” Aries.
He called out.
Hearing his voice right now was making me punch him.
I hated to see him.
And his grumpy voice felt like hell.
I turned to face him.
He was walking towards me with his group.
The moment we were close his eyes scanned me like I was some property ready to be thrown away if any imperfection was seen.
At this rate I was pissed.
“Dukutin ko yang mga mata mo kapag ganito ang pag-scan mo sa akin!” (“I will gouge your eyes out if you scan me like this!”) People behind him stiffened.
A guy chuckled.
“So…
who is she Aries?” The guy with curly hair asked.
“She’s my si-” “Cousin.” I said flatly.
“A distant cousin.” I added, more clearly.
Aries slightly flinched.
It was unnoticeable for a naked eyes.
Or to be exact for people who are blind cannot notice these small stuff.
But I didn’t see the purpose of him flinching.
Isn’t this what he wanted?
Me saying cousin instead of sister…
This what he wanted me to do my whole life.
He never wanted to admit I was his sister.
************************************************** Aries’s pov: “His cousin,” she says, not looking at me.
“A distant cousin.” The word lands like a slap.
I feel my jaw go slack, the unspoken syllable dying in my throat.
I stared at her, searching for the desperation I was used to, the eagerness that used to light up her eyes whenever she was near me.
It is gone.
She stands here, shoulders relaxed in a way they never were before, her attention drifting toward the people with me like I was not even worth looking at.
The Jay I knew would have been hanging on my every word, hoping for a glance, a crumb of acknowledgment.
That Jay would never have contradicted me, never would have chosen the lie I forced on her over the truth she wanted.
But this Jay?
She looks almost bored.
my friends nod.
I should feel relieved.
This is what I wanted, what I always insisted on.
The secret stays buried.
“I am kiko” Kiko reached his hand for a shake.
I was about to pitch in.
When Jay nodded politely.
I saw each of them introduce.
“Ella.
Aries’s girlfriend.” “I have heard of you.” Jay said with a polite smile, like she never bothered with the introduction.
“I am freya!
The queen bee of section A” Jay chuckled softly.
“Nice to see.” She nodded politely.
“Your good!” Freya commented.
“I am Rakki san diego” Rakki raised her hand for a shake with hope.
I saw Jay refusing it everytime.
She paused a for second before taking it.
“My name is long.
Just call me Jay-Jay.
Its nice meeting you all.” The bell rang.
Loud.
High pitched.
I hadn’t uttered a word since she corrected or to be exact interrupted me.
“Which section are you?” Mykel asked.
Jay sighed.
“Section E.
Because of my bad records.” Jay brushed it off, like a dust.
“Be careful…
their reputation-” “Yes I know!
I know everything don’t worry.” Jay waved as she walked away, without bothering.
I kept watching her, waiting for her to crack, to glance back at me with that familiar longing.
She does not.
And….
I hate to admit.
It hurts.
