” [Pallet Town] [A fresh and peaceful little town.

Small and beautiful.

The pure white color that symbolizes the beginning of a journey.] As Red controlled Little Red and stepped out of his house, a line of poetic text appeared in the upper-right corner of the screen before slowly fading away.Full novel: Did You Play Pokémon Today? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Gentle, melodious music drifted through the air.

Soft sunlight spilled across the town like golden silk.

Everything seemed wrapped in a warm and comfortable filter.

On the rooftops, several Spearow chirped noisily without end.

Across the rolling grasslands, vibrant seas of flowers swayed with the breeze, displaying a silent kind of tenderness.

Groups of Pokémon ran and played among the blossoms.

Together they formed a harmonious and peaceful scene.

“So…” “Where exactly am I supposed to go?” Red controlled Little Red around the area near his house twice.

After exploring for a while, he discovered that there were no invisible walls or blocked paths.

His movements were completely unrestricted.

A genuine open-world setting.

Everything depended entirely on his own choices.

“An open world?” Blue raised an eyebrow.

A faint smile of interest appeared on his face.

“As expected of Brother Gray.” Then he pointed toward the screen.

“Follow the road in front of the house and go to the building next door.” “Didn’t your mom just say the Professor was there?” Red ignored his commanding tone.

However, he still followed the suggestion.

Little Red stepped onto the main road.

Accompanied by the soothing background music, he soon arrived in front of an elegant villa with a classic design.

He pushed open the door and entered.

Inside the living room, a beautiful young woman was chatting happily with a handsome researcher dressed in a white lab coat.

“That’s my sister…” Blue recognized Daisy immediately.

Then his eyes shifted toward the researcher standing beside her.

“…And Brother Gray?” “Wait.” “Why is he in my house?” He muttered quietly to himself.

Still, he did not think too deeply about it and continued issuing instructions.

“Go trigger the story event.” Red curled his lips.

He clearly had no intention of obediently following orders.

Ignoring the conversation prompt entirely, he controlled Little Red and began poking at everything in sight.

He checked shelves.

Examined furniture.

Opened cabinets.

Inspected corners.

Nothing escaped his attention.

Only after confirming that there were no hidden items did he finally walk over and interact with the two people.

[Daisy: Hi, Red!

Blue is my younger brother.

He’s at Grandpa’s laboratory.] [Handsome Researcher: Oh, right.

Take this.

Make sure you don’t get lost.] [Red received the Town Map from the Handsome Researcher!] [Red placed the Town Map into the Key Items Pocket.] “Got the map!” Red immediately opened his inventory and used it.

A futuristic tablet-like device activated.

An instant later, a holographic three-dimensional projection of the entire Kanto region appeared before him.

However, only Pallet Town was clearly visible.

Every other city, route, and location remained hidden beneath a gray fog.

It was obvious that those places would need to be personally explored before being revealed.

After memorizing the direction of the laboratory, Red set off once more.

The wild Pokémon living within the town were astonishingly tame.

They seemed less like wild Pokémon and more like actual residents.

Whenever Little Red approached, they simply scampered away.

Soon, he arrived at the laboratory.

The place was packed with people.

Fully embracing his explorer instincts, Red guided Little Red through the crowd.

He spoke to every person he saw.

Interacted with every object he found.

Searched every corner.

His goal was simple.

Find hidden items.

Unfortunately, after circling the laboratory several times, he failed to find Professor Oak.

Instead, he encountered his rival.

Blue.

[Blue: What?

Only my sister was home?

Grandpa isn’t there.] “Professor Oak isn’t in the laboratory.” Yellow tilted her head slightly.

“Where would he go?” Red also turned toward Blue.

“What do we do next?” “Who cares?” Green’s eyes sparkled brightly.

She was clearly having far more fun than she had expected.

“Let’s go outside town!” “This game is way more interesting than I thought it’d be!” “I bet there are tons of good things waiting out there!” Red immediately accepted the suggestion.

Little Red headed toward the edge of Pallet Town.

Just as he was about to leave the town limits— A giant red exclamation mark suddenly appeared above his head!

A white-haired old man came running from behind, panting heavily.

He rushed forward and blocked the path.

[Oak: Wait!

It’s dangerous out there!] [Oak: All kinds of Pokémon live in the wilderness.

You need your own Pokémon to protect yourself.] [Oak: I know.

Come with me.] Without giving Little Red any opportunity to object, Professor Oak grabbed him and hurried back toward the laboratory.

Inside the lab, Red and Blue stood side by side.

[Oak: Blue?

Oh, right!

I was the one who called you two here!

Hahaha!] Professor Oak scratched his head awkwardly.

As though he had only just remembered.

Then, like a magician performing a trick, he produced three Poké Balls from inside his lab coat and placed them in front of the two boys.

[Oak: When I was younger, I was a powerful Pokémon Trainer.] [Oak: But now I’m old!] [Oak: These are the only three Pokémon I have left.] [Oak: Choose one.

After all, this will become your lifelong bond.] Blue glanced at Red and revealed an incredibly arrogant grin.

[Blue: You choose first.] [Blue: No matter which one you pick, you’ll never beat me.] The three Poké Balls opened across the screen.

Their contents became visible.

Bulbasaur.

Squirtle.

Charmander.

“Starter partners, huh…” Red rubbed his chin.

He had fallen into a difficult decision.

And then— Pop!

Pop!

Pop!

Three Poké Balls opened almost simultaneously in the real world.

Red’s Venusaur.

Green’s Blastoise.

Blue’s Charizard.

All three Pokémon suddenly emerged from their Poké Balls.

Then, as though guided by a common purpose, they gathered around Red.

Their eyes were fixed on him.

Even Pikachu and Poliwrath, who had been playing nearby, wandered over to watch the spectacle.

After all, if anyone wanted to discuss Red’s true first Pokémon…

As long as Poliwrath was alive, the rest of you were merely concubines.

The pressure instantly landed on Red.

Cold sweat appeared across his forehead.

He looked toward Blue for help.

Blue silently turned his head away.

Don’t look at me.

We’re not that close.

Venusaur slowly wrapped one of its vines around Red’s wrist.

Charizard pretended to look elsewhere with an expression of disdain.

Yet its feet unconsciously shuffled closer and closer toward Red.

Blastoise was even more direct.

Its heavy forelimbs landed firmly on Red’s shoulders.

“Um…” Red had barely opened his mouth.

Crackle— Three fierce gazes collided in midair.

Invisible sparks seemed to burst into existence.

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

A battle could break out at any moment.

“How can you all argue over something like this?” Yellow stepped forward with her hands on her hips.

First, she gently pushed away Blastoise’s paws.

Then she removed Venusaur’s vines.

Finally, she glared at Charizard.

“You too.” “No fighting.” Faced with Yellow’s gentle but unwavering stare, the three powerful Pokémon immediately wilted.

Like eggplants struck by frost.

One after another, they lowered their heads and obediently nodded.

Only then did Yellow turn toward Red.

Her voice remained soft.

Yet there was no room for negotiation.

“Since Brother Gray already gave you a symbolic Pokémon in the game, you shouldn’t hesitate.” “Choose Charmander.” Charizard’s eyes immediately lit up.

Then Yellow shot it another glance.

The excitement vanished at once.

Red felt as though he had just received a pardon from death.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he selected Charmander.

[Red received Charmander from Professor Oak!] [Blue: Hmph!

Charmander?

Then I’ll choose Squirtle!] Blue grabbed Squirtle’s Poké Ball.

Without giving Little Red any chance to react, he seized his arm and dragged him toward the laboratory’s battle field.

[Blue: Let’s test our Pokémon!] [Blue: Come on!

I’m going to defeat you!] Smack!

Blue covered his face in agony.

His expression twisted behind the gaps between his fingers.

This…

Was me?

How could this possibly be me?

Letting Red choose first was one thing.

But being this arrogant?

This overconfident?

Brother Gray…

What kind of image do you even have of me in your head?!

While Blue was internally losing his mind, passionate battle music suddenly exploded from the speakers.

A bright system notification occupied the center of the screen.

[Pokémon Battles Use a Real-Time Command System!] [Please Ensure Microphone Permissions Are Enabled!] [Good Luck, Trainer!] “Real-time commands!” A dazzling light erupted from Red’s eyes.

His gaze locked firmly onto the screen.

Little Red and Little Blue stood opposite one another.

Beside them, Charmander and Squirtle eagerly prepared for battle.

[Blue: Go!

Squirtle!] [Red: Charmander!

I choose you!] (End of Chapter) TN: In Pokemon Adventures, Red has a Venusaur, Blue has a Charizard and Green has a Blastoise.
