After putting a group of Knights in their place and earning favor with Nalan Shu and Li Xin, Long Haochen and Bai Xi received their Knight badges and the awakening stone Long Xingyu had sent them to retrieve.

Without delay, they hurried to their next destination—the Adventurers’ Guild—to check in.

The Adventurers’ Guild was a place where all sorts gathered. Not long after entering, the seemingly easy-to-bully siblings encountered troublemakers.Full novel: Divine Seal: I Am the Demon God Emperor’s Treasured Granddaughter — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The filthy, vulgar words were unbearable to hear.

When their remarks insulted their mother, Bai Yue, Bai Xi’s anger flared even hotter than Long Haochen’s. Without hesitation, she drew the heavy sword from Long Haochen’s back and hurled it straight at the scum without so much as a glance back.

“You brought this on yourself. Don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Since fighting inside the Adventurers’ Guild was forbidden, Bai Xi’s thrown sword didn’t actually strike the bearded man—it landed just inches from the tip of his nose.

But it was enough to intimidate him.

“Ah—you bastards! I’ll kill you—”

The bearded man roared in fury. He had been genuinely frightened, and now, having regained his composure, his bloodshot eyes fixed fiercely on Bai Xi.

With a cold expression, Bai Xi unwound the soft whip coiled around her waist, effortlessly retrieved the heavy steel sword that had landed in front of the bearded man, and handed it back to Long Haochen.

“Outside.”

Neither sibling would tolerate even the slightest disrespect toward Bai Yue, and at that moment, they both wished they could kill the bearded man on the spot.

However, Long Haochen was far more courteous, formally challenging the bearded man to a duel.

The three of them stormed out of the Adventurers’ Guild and into the open square outside, where a crowd of onlookers quickly gathered.

As they made their way out, Bai Xi had already drawn a heavy sword.

The moment they stepped outside, before the bearded man could spew more trash talk, Bai Xi struck.

Her movements were incredibly swift—unprecedentedly so.

Though the bearded scum instinctively dodged, the heavy sword still severed one of his arms. Blood instantly sprayed across his own face.

Not a single drop stained Bai Xi, a testament to her speed.

“Lucky I didn’t get your filthy blood on me, or I’d be sick enough to vomit up last night’s dinner.”

With one strike, Bai Xi retreated, tossing out a taunt.

Long Haochen seamlessly stepped forward—Pure White Blade, Divine Defense Block, Cross Slash…

Fueled by rage, every move he made was lightning-fast. Before the crowd could recover from the shock of Bai Xi severing the bearded man’s arm, the man lay dead beneath the siblings’ swords.

“Damn little brats! How dare you kill him? I’ll make you pay with your lives to avenge my brother!”

Two men, eyes blazing with fury, charged from the side, intent on killing Long Haochen and Bai Xi.

Whether it was confidence in their skills or the fearlessness of youth, the siblings showed no fear in the face of these two clearly formidable opponents.

Bai Xi even spoke fearlessly, “Good, you’re both here. Saves us the trouble.”

She intended to finish off these two as well, leaving no loose ends.

But before the fight could begin, Li Xin, who had followed them out of concern, appeared and drove the two men away.

Watching the two flee in panic, a phrase suddenly flashed through Bai Xi’s mind:

“Endless troubles.”

Bai Xi’s rather unpleasant mood was significantly improved by Li Xin with just a single pink rose unicorn.

“Sister, can I pet it?”

Bai Xi had no resistance to cute and beautiful creatures, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the rose unicorn.

“Of course, you can even hug it and try riding it.”

With Li Xin’s permission, Bai Xi immediately pounced over, tightly embracing the rose unicorn, feeling as if her bad mood had been completely healed.

“It’s really so adorable. How can I get such a cute mount?”

“Not cute, not cute! It’s not cute at all! Master, has your taste downgraded? This tacky thing—where is it cute?”

In the Sea of Spirit, the Vermilion Bird, feeling its position threatened, woke up and jealously belittled the rose unicorn, practically oozing with envy.

“My taste is fine. It looks really cute, all pink and tender.”

“I’m the cute one. I’m the cutest beast in the world. What’s so good about pink? It’s tacky. Fiery red like mine is what’s truly beautiful!”

The Vermilion Bird, having woken up midway, felt as if the sky had fallen. Was its position already in jeopardy so soon?

“Oh, my fickle master!”

“Oh, this neglected and discarded old beast!”

The Vermilion Bird’s barrage of sour remarks made Bai Xi feel somewhat embarrassed, as if she really were that fickle and heartless person.

A bit sheepishly, she replied, “But I can’t even see what you look like!”

“That’s right! Master, you must have forgotten what I look like, which is why you said that. Once you see my appearance, no other beast will ever catch your eye again.”

The Vermilion Bird spoke with full confidence, though its memory wasn’t particularly good either.

Although Bai Xi really liked the rose unicorn, she still declined Li Xin’s company.

“No need to trouble you. Haochen and I can manage on our own.”

“But there are still some third- and fourth-tier magical beasts in the Haoyue Swamp. You can’t handle them right now, and it would be bad if you encountered any.”

Li Xin was very worried they might run into danger. She liked Long Haochen and Bai Xi very much, especially Bai Xi, and she hoped to see Bai Xi go further.

“But with you protecting us from behind, we won’t feel any sense of crisis, and it won’t serve as good training.”

Bai Xi and Long Haochen still declined Li Xin’s kindness.

Because they insisted so firmly, Li Xin had no choice but to give up, only reminding them to be careful.

After Li Xin left, Bai Xi immediately turned around and went back into the adventurer’s guild.

“Xixi, what are you doing?”

Long Haochen immediately sensed trouble—this looked very much like she was about to stir something up.

By the time he caught up, Bai Xi had already accepted another third-tier magical beast quest.

“You actually took another third-tier one?”

Long Haochen couldn’t help but raise his voice a little.

“This one is a bit low-level. Sigh, actually, I wanted to take a fourth-tier one, but I came too late today. There weren’t many fourth-tier quests to begin with, and they’re all gone now.”

As she spoke, Bai Xi even sighed.

I’m the one who should be sighing. My sister is really too rebellious. What do I do if I can’t control her?

Long Haochen was the one who truly wanted to sigh, but after all, this was his own sister. What could he do? He could only spoil her.

“Let’s head to Haoyue Swamp first. The sooner we finish the task, the sooner we can go home. It hasn’t even been a day since we left, and I already miss my mom.”

“Then why did you take on more tasks? Wouldn’t taking fewer tasks let you go home earlier?”

“I’m doing this to better test ourselves—how to complete more tasks in less time.”

While bickering, the two of them quickly made their way toward Haoyue Swamp.

Unbeknownst to them, two figures had been quietly following behind them all along.
