Ms.

The air around them felt stiff, but other than that, it was nice.

Rhys: [Nice!]

Wolf: [Woof!]

Her kitchen was to the right, her seating area was right up ahead, and the other rooms seemed to be down the hall to the left.

With all things considered, this seemed like a pretty pleasant home to Rhys.

Rhys: [Is this really your house?]

Ms.

Hollow: [Did what I said a bit ago make me seem like a poor soul to you?]

He doesn’t respond to that comment.

All he does is make his way over to the seating area with Wolf in tow.

He found the chair closest to the wall parallel to the door and popped a squat on it.

Wolf just curled up and sat on the floor next to him.

Ms.

Hollow: [Would you like anything?

Some tea?]

Rhys: [I’m fine…]

He was getting irritated by the feel of the cushions on his ass.

They felt cheap, which confused Rhys to no end.

Rhys: [I’m guessing you live here by yourself…]

Ms.

Hollow: [Yep!

Been really focused on other things, so no husband or wife in sight!]

Rhys: Wife…?

She walked back with her own tea in hand.

Taking a seat on the chair across from Rhys.

Both leaving them in a one-on-one scenario.

Rhys: [This thing about you being “The strongest”.

Why are you like that?]

She paused right before taking her first sip.

Pretty personal question to be asked so soon.

She hadn’t even gotten drunk yet.

Ms.

Hollow: [W-wow!

What a question… well, it’s my whole thing I guess…]

Rhys: [Your whole thing?]

Ms.

Hollow: [I mean, like, what else would I be doing if I didn’t… y’know.]

Rhys: [What?

Do you not have any dreams or something?]

She waited a moment before answering.

Ms.

Hollow: [This is my dream!

My whole reason for being here!

I want to protect people and make sure the country I’m in is doing fine.

I also want to help people that went through the same experience that I did.

Isn’t that a good dream?]

Rhys: [I mean… I guess… but what about anything else?]

Ms.

Hollow: [What do you mean?]

Then what will you do with yourself?]

Ms.

Hollow: [How would I fail?

I’m the strongest, and I have an angel on my side!

If anything happens, what is anybody going to do to stop me, y’know!]

Rhys: [Right…]

He didn’t know what he felt about that information.

Wolf, by the way, was in her own world at this moment.

Dreaming about all the things that make her happy.

Which is way easier when Rhys is around.

Ms.

Hollow: [Why do you seem like you just ‘go with the flow’ most of the time?]

Rhys looked up at her.

Ms.

Hollow: [I remember when you seemed way more outspoken and energetic.

You interact with all the villagers, and especially with your friend.

But now, you seem so agreeable and out of it.]

Rhys: [Why do you need to know?

What?

Are you my goddamn therapist or something?]

Ms.

Hollow: [I just want to know why you joined me with my plan so quickly!

I thought someone like you maybe needed a bit more pressure to do something like?]

Rhys: [How else am I supposed to have you leave me and Wolf the hell alone?

I was going to go back after this anyway…]

Ms.

Hollow: [Hmm…]

Rhys: [What??]

Ms.

Hollow: [Oh… oh, I see what you’re doing!

]

Rhys: [Huh?!]

She leaned forward in her chair a little.

Ms.

Hollow: [Are you the type to push your feelings aside!

Y’know like a man would?]

Rhys: [I Don’t know what you mean…]

Ms.

Hollow: [Let me guess.

You used Wolf to bury your own emotions down and continue your schedule.]

Rhys: [Don’t put Wolf into this…]

He asserted some level of anger towards her prodding.

Having no clue where any of this is even coming from.

Ms.

Hollow: [What happened to the both of us was some serious buisness!

I don’t get why you’re not more angry about what happened?

Unless you’re hiding what’s making you angry from others for some reason.]

She leans back into her headrest.

Ms.

Hollow: [Or maybe… Read this novel at novelpin‌g.com for the best experience.

that boy you knew died because you didn’t care in the end…]

That was the last straw.

He lunged right at her throat, stopping inches away from ending her life right then.

Rhys: [Why the fuck are you telling me how I should act about what happened?!

You’re not me!

You don’t know me!

You’re a nobody to me!

I didn’t say anything about your relentless thrive for vengeance!

So why should you be able to prod?!]

He stepped back, picked up Wolf, and was heading for the door.

Not wanting to stay here and listen to her any longer.

Rhys: [Hey, bitch!

Maybe check yourself before you tell me how I didn’t care about my friend.

You weren’t there at all!]

Before Ms.

Hollow could rebuttal, he was already gone.

Ms.

Hollow: [Godammit!

Why do I always do this to people!

And why do they never listen!]

She got up, went over to her wall, and punched it heavily.

Cracks started forming around her mess, and she stopped before her entire wall was gone.

Ms.

Hollow: [Why am… I like this…?]

Then, Wolf woke herself back up after hearing Rhys’s cries for suicide.

She takes her enormous wolf body and dog-hugs him from his left side.

His demeanour takes a sudden halt, as he quickly switches back to his normal, everyday self.

Ms.

Hollow: [whatever!

He just doesn’t give a shit about my pain and struggles anyway!

I thought maybe he would be different, but I guess not…

none of them are…]

She took a minute to fully grasp everything Rhys rapidly said.

About halfway through, though, she suddenly fixed herself back up and made it over to her room, not wanting to wait any longer with her pin pointing on where this thing could be.

Ms.

Hollow: I hate people like him.

Thinking my desires are stupid, and that we should let things happen!

No…

that thing needs to go…

I’ll do anything to make that happen…

Each step closer and closer to her room was more erratic than the last.

Her mind was slowly breaking from the isolation of revenge.

After finally making it to the door, she stepped inside and shut it behind her without a second thought.

Everyone around her knew that this wasn’t healthy.

They all tried to get her out of this mindset and move on.

But no, she wan;t like those other people.

Her friends, her family, that weird boy, they all needed closure.

And after finally finding the right pieces, she wasn’t letting him get away this time, and stopping her.

Not again.

Not ever.
