By the time Rong Yan snapped out of her daze from Jiang Yuhan’s words, she was the only one left in the room.

Without even putting on her shoes, she chased after him.

But all she saw was the luxury car driving away with the man in it, and with a stumble, she collapsed to the ground.Full novel: Divorce, I Don’t Want to Be a Stand-in Anymore. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

There was no explanation at all. Even if he wanted her to continue being a stand-in, Jiang Yuhan could at least have tried to placate her, right?

Rong Yan wanted to know—who was this A Zhi that Jiang Yuhan loved so deeply?

Why did she have a face identical to hers?

Was it a coincidence?

Because her mother had died of illness shortly after giving birth to her and her younger brother.

It was the butler who helped Rong Yan to her feet. She only managed a few sips of congee before returning to her room and sending Jiang Yuhan a WeChat message.

【What time are you free today? Shall we go to the civil affairs bureau to handle the divorce procedures?】

She waited until nightfall, but Rong Yan never received a reply.

She didn’t turn on the lights, nor did she cry. She just sat quietly in the darkness, hugging herself.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when her phone suddenly rang.

Rong Yan picked up the phone slowly and looked at it—it was Jiang Yuhan’s younger brother, Jiang Yubai.

The moment she pressed the answer button, Jiang Yubai’s urgent voice came through.

“Third Sister-in-law, come quickly, Third Brother has gone mad…”

After hanging up, Rong Yan didn’t change her clothes and nearly walked out the door in her slippers.

Fortunately, there was no traffic jam. About fifteen minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of the Langqiao Clubhouse.

Rong Yan rarely came to places like this, and she didn’t like them either.

Jiang Yubai personally came out to receive her, escorting her to the private room door and even warning her.

“Third Sister-in-law, be careful when you go in—don’t step on the glass.”

Rong Yan nodded and pushed open the private room door.

The lighting was somewhat glaring, perhaps because of the shattered glass all over the floor. Rong Yan coughed lightly—the air was thick with the smell of alcohol, which stung her nose.

Soon, she spotted Jiang Yuhan sitting in the center of the private room.

Before she even got close to him, Rong Yan could already feel the aggression radiating from him.

As if he didn’t know Rong Yan had arrived, Jiang Yuhan finished the wine in his glass and poured himself another full one.

With a graceful gesture, he downed it in one go.

Rong Yan frowned deeply. Although it was detestable that Jiang Yuhan treated her as a stand-in, he had treated her decently during their year of marriage.

So, she hoped to part ways with Jiang Yuhan amicably.

Just as she took a step forward, Rong Yan heard a loud crash.

The man hurled an empty wine bottle against the wall—yes, that was how the floor had become covered in broken glass.

Clenching her hands into fists, Rong Yan took off her shoes and stepped onto the sofa.

Fortunately, there was no broken glass on the sofa. She approached Jiang Yuhan and spoke softly.

“Stop drinking. Whatever it is, can we go home and talk about it?”

After finishing the wine in his glass, the man smashed the glass too.

Turning around, Jiang Yuhan looked at Rong Yan with a cold, piercing gaze.

It made Rong Yan clench her fists even tighter. It wasn’t that she wanted to get into a fight with Jiang Yuhan—she was just scared.

The man asked coldly by her ear, “To talk about the divorce?”

Rong Yan shrank her neck and replied in a small voice.

“We can talk about the divorce once you’re sober. Let’s go home first.”

The moment she finished speaking, she was forcibly seated on Jiang Yuhan’s lap.

Without giving her a chance to speak, the man stood up with her in his arms and left the private room.

“Jiang Yuhan, put me down. I can walk on my own.”

He was the one who was drunk right now, wasn’t he?

Completely ignoring Rong Yan’s words, Jiang Yuhan spotted the driver Uncle Li and roughly shoved Rong Yan into the back seat of the car before climbing in himself.

Rong Yan had barely settled in and was about to straighten her clothes when the man’s hand landed on her slender waist, pulling her into his embrace.

Taking several deep breaths, Rong Yan glanced at Uncle Li again and chose not to struggle, letting Jiang Yuhan hold her.

When the car arrived at Jiangting, he didn’t give her a chance to set foot on the ground, carrying her straight back to the bedroom.

Tossed onto the bed, Rong Yan scrambled up quickly, watching Jiang Yuhan as he unbuttoned his shirt.
