Nan Yu interrupted before the receptionist could finish. She sighed and looked at Nan Xin with an embarrassed yet sympathetic expression.
“Little Sister, I told you before. If you want to work, you can call me. I’ll arrange something for you.”
Nan Xin sat in the lounge area, watching Nan Yu’s self-righteous performance. She found it utterly laughable.
Relying on Fu Beichen’s support behind her, Nan Yu clearly did not care about the occasion at all.
Judging from the situation, the receptionist had obviously been talking about the two companies preparing to discuss further cooperation.
And President Hu of Dexin Group clearly did not take Nan Yu seriously. Even though Nan Yu had acted as if she knew her well, when President Hu was asking questions, she simply skipped over Nan Yu. Yet Nan Yu was still under the illusion that everyone treated her as someone important.

“If you’re willing, Little Sister, why don’t you work as a cleaner under Fu Corporation? I’ll have someone look after you.”
“Who is trying to arrange a job for the head of our R&D department?”
The moment Nan Yu finished speaking, Gong Hao came rushing in from outside, panting heavily. He hurried over to Nan Xin and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, Miss Nan. I had to go out unexpectedly at noon and was delayed for a while.”

Hu Haifeng, the general manager of Dexin, had personally trained Gong Hao. Seeing that Gong Hao was actually planning to hire a heavily pregnant woman who was almost due, he did not lose his temper on the spot, but his displeasure was obvious from his tone.

Fu Beichen frowned and spoke.
“President Hu, she has never worked before. After graduating, she stayed at home as a housewife, and she’s pregnant now. Are you sure you want to hire her?”
Hu Haifeng gave Fu Beichen a meaningful look.
“Didn’t President Fu say you weren’t familiar with her? How do you know all these things?”
“Knowing something doesn’t mean I’m familiar with her.”
Fu Beichen did not look at Nan Xin again, but his thoughts had already drifted far away.
He knew very well that there had to be a reason Dexin was willing to hire Nan Xin. Yet after living with Nan Xin day and night for three years, he could not figure out what exactly she possessed that Dexin would value.
Unlike Fu Beichen, who was thinking through all of this, Nan Yu simply could not believe it.
“Did you make a mistake? My sister only has a bachelor’s degree, and she studied traditional Chinese medicine. Could she have deceived you somehow?”
Gong Hao glanced at Nan Yu.
“Academic qualifications have little to do with a person’s abilities. Since Dexin has hired Miss Nan, that means she has the ability to do the job.”
“Director Gong, take Miss Nan to complete her onboarding procedures. Pregnant women shouldn’t be kept waiting too long.”
Hu Haifeng said this with a smile, effectively slapping Nan Yu in the face.
Nan Xin greeted Hu Haifeng before following Gong Hao to complete her onboarding procedures.
The process was simple. She completed everything in just ten minutes.
As Gong Hao walked Nan Xin out, Nan Xin took the initiative to ask, “May I ask what project Fu Corporation and Dexin are planning to collaborate on?”
Dexin’s main business was cosmetics, and the only area in which Fu Corporation could cooperate with Dexin was its beauty brands. Nan Xin did not want to have any further involvement with Fu Corporation later on.
Even someone as slow as Gong Hao could tell that there was something going on between the three of them after seeing what had happened during today’s meeting.
Seeing that Nan Xin was worried about this, he said, “I’m not entirely sure what the specific project is, but don’t worry, Miss Nan. We’ll do our best to make sure you don’t have any involvement with Fu Corporation.”

Gong Hao sent Nan Xin the designs for the new products currently in development.
“One of the new products launching next month is a perfume. It has already been formulated, but if you have any other possibilities, we’ll choose the best version to use.”
“Okay. I’ll prepare carefully.”
Nan Xin already had the perfume project she had accepted from Nan Yu, and now she had Dexin’s new product as well. She was going to be quite busy for a while.
