“Xiao Guang!”

Lu Heguang had just stepped off the starship when he heard Lu Ze’s call from nearby. Having not seen Lu Ze for a week and unable to send him any messages, Lu Heguang, who had rarely been separated from family since childhood felt a surge of excitement. Allen beside him took his equipment, allowing Lu Heguang to dash over and scoop Lu Ze into a hug.

Lu Ze was startled. In his memory, Lu Heguang’s physical strength had never been impressive. Although he knew that after differentiating into an Alpha, Lu Heguang’s physique would undergo significant changes, Lu Ze himself was considered tall among Omegas. Yet, he had just been lifted off the ground by his own son!Full novel: Does the Alpha Have to Be a Succubus too? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Dad, I missed you so much.” Only after the hug did Lu Heguang remember to feel embarrassed. Parents still searching for their children nearby chuckled at the scene. Lowering his head, Lu Heguang noticed a man in brown-black boots standing beside Lu Ze.

It was Fei Luo’er.

“How are your wounds?” Fei Luo’er made no attempt to hide the fact that he had seen Lu Heguang get injured through the surveillance feed. Lu Heguang had long guessed he would check the footage and didn’t mind the question. He lifted his shirt to reveal the slightly soiled bandages. “Haven’t had time to change them yet. I’ll head to the infirmary later…”

“Go find Salorian. He was the one who bandaged your wounds, and he knows your condition best.”

Fei Luo’er’s suggestion surprised Lu Heguang. He had assumed Fei Luo’er would bypass the infirmary and take him home to see their private doctor a kindly-looking old man who seemed highly skilled and served as Fei Luo’er’s personal physician.

Lu Ze patted his shoulder. “Go on. I’ll pick you up this afternoon to go home. You probably want to catch up with your friends too, little captain.”

Lu Heguang hummed in agreement. Fei Luo’er wanted to ruffle his hair like Lu Ze had, but halfway through reaching out, he hesitated, pulling back. He worried Lu Heguang might shy away he hadn’t been a qualified partner. Even if part of the reason was Lu Ze hiding too well, it didn’t change the fact that he had been absent for nineteen years.

He wasn’t a qualified father either, having even missed Lu Heguang’s first eighteen years.

“Father.” Lu Heguang stepped forward and hugged him tightly twice, grinning to reveal his small canine teeth. “Did I do well?”

Lu Ze laughed heartily beside them it was the first time he had ever seen such an expression on Fei Luo’er’s face.

Fei Luo’er took a deep breath, smiling as he vigorously ruffled Lu Heguang’s hair. Though he still wasn’t quite used to the blue locks, his technique was already practiced. “You did very well.”

Noticing a few other children who had also chosen to return home in the afternoon nearby, Lu Ze tugged Fei Luo’er away to give the kids some time.

“Captain, this is the first time I’ve ever seen the Marshal picking up a child,” said Zuo Wei, who stayed behind with Cass. Even Wen Zhao had waved goodbye, planning to head home first with his older brother. “If I didn’t know you, I still wouldn’t believe the Marshal had a child.”

Cass nodded along, pointing toward the main gate of Howard. “We’re going to pack our luggage and get ready to leave too. Want to come in with us?”

Lu Heguang withdrew his gaze, which had been scanning the crowd for someone, and waved a hand. “I live with my senior, so we’re not in the same dormitory area. See you next week.”

“See you next week.” Cass yawned, bidding farewell to Lu Heguang alongside Zuo Wei before heading into Wyatt first.

Lu Heguang waited in place for a long time but didn’t see Salorian come out to meet him. However, this was an expected outcome after all, he hadn’t made any arrangements with Salorian. It was better not to assume too much for now. In any case, Salorian had already agreed not to restrict his pursuit, so the goal had been achieved. From here on out, it would all depend on himself.

He took out his smart device, which had returned to his hands after a week, and checked the time. It was just past ten o’clock. On a rest day, at this hour, Salorian would either be in the dormitory or out on a date, right?

Although Salorian’s reputation wasn’t the best, with that face of his, there would still be people willing to give him a chance.

But when Lu Heguang returned to the dormitory, he only saw Salorian’s packed luggage and didn’t see him anywhere.

“Is the senior going home?” Lu Heguang murmured to himself. “Right, it’s not like he can’t go home.”

If someone came to pick him up, it would probably be Mitchell, wouldn’t it?

Lu Heguang stood at the dormitory entrance for a while, during which he also sent a message to Salorian. Not only was his smart device silent, but even the dormitory entrance saw few passersby. After the survival battle, the dormitory area had emptied out considerably. It was only after meeting Chen Wang on the return starship that he learned from him that Wyatt never needed too many students.

It’s not about the quantity of soldiers, but their quality.

This principle came from the guidance of Fiora, so even if only a few people remained by the end of the survival battle, it was simply the result of survival of the fittest.

Lu Heguang decided to search around the academy. Salorian’s luggage was still here, so he would have to come back for it, which meant he was still at Wyatt. However, as soon as he reached the ground floor, he saw Salorian talking to an Omega.

Salorian was taller than many Omegas, but in Lu Heguang’s eyes, this was perfectly normal. After all, with Lu Ze as an example growing up, he had always known that Omegas didn’t necessarily have to be delicate and beautiful, nor did Alphas have to be strong and powerful.

The two were standing quite close, speaking in low voices. Lu Heguang stood by the dormitory elevator, quietly waiting it would be impolite to interrupt their conversation.

After another two minutes, Salorian finally parted ways with the other person and headed toward the dormitory. Looking up, he spotted Lu Heguang waiting not far away. His expression faltered slightly as he quickened his pace. “Why are you standing here?”

“I came to find you, senior,” Lu Heguang replied with a smile. “I thought you might be waiting for me at the school gate.”

“Your family is here. What would it mean for me to wait?” Salorian said helplessly. “Let’s go upstairs. It’s sweltering down here.”

The elevator was empty, and they quickly stepped inside. As they waited for it to ascend, Salorian quietly explained, “That was a junior from the medical department earlier. He wasn’t familiar with Wyatt’s environment and was asking for directions.”

“Why are you explaining this to me, senior?” Lu Heguang’s words sounded teasing to Salorian, stirring a sense of discomfort in him. But then he heard Lu Heguang add, “No matter what you’re doing, senior, I’ll always be waiting.”

The unease in Salorian’s heart instantly transformed into a bewildering sense of guilt. Seeing that Lu Heguang still hadn’t changed his clothes, he glanced at the Alpha’s waist. “How’s your injury?”

“Dad told me to come find you to help me with it,” Lu Heguang replied. “After you left, we didn’t run into any other medical students, but the bandage never tore, so I didn’t touch it.”

Just then, the elevator arrived at their floor. Hearing this, Salorian immediately grabbed his arm and led him toward the dorm. “Why didn’t you check it? The rainforest is so hot and humid, what if the wound got infected?”

Lu Heguang let himself be pulled back to the dorm. Salorian first pressed him onto a stool and told him to take off his clothes, then turned to close the door and turn on the air conditioning in one smooth motion, casually pulling out the medical kit from under his desk and clicking it open.

“You’re so cool, senior,” Lu Heguang said with a soft laugh. He took off his jacket and placed it in the basket for laundry. His shirt had been lost in the rainforest long ago, so once the jacket was off, he was bare-chested. Salorian looked at the new scrapes and bruises on his body and hesitated. “Go take a shower first.”

He took out waterproof adhesive film to cover the bandaged wound and pushed Lu Heguang into the bathroom. “Do you need help?”

“Probably not. I’m afraid you might feel awkward,” Lu Heguang said through the crack in the door as he closed it. Salorian was puzzled. “Why would I feel awkward?”

“I’ve grown a bit more these past few days,” Lu Heguang said thoughtfully. “In all sorts of ways, including… down there.”

Salorian: “I don’t have a habit of looking at people naked.”

“Alpha and Omega are different,” Lu Heguang added with a laugh, closing the door. “But we’re both men. If you really want to look, I don’t mind.”

“I’m afraid I’ll get a stye,” Salorian said, kicking the bathroom door lightly. Then he couldn’t help but ask, “You didn’t get hurt on your head, did you? Be careful when washing your hair.”

“Got it,” Lu Heguang’s voice was soon covered by the sound of running water. Salorian stood outside the bathroom door for a long moment before finally returning to his desk and sitting down. After a few seconds, he got up again to find a clean towel, planning to dry Lu Heguang’s hair later.

“Where did you go earlier, senior?”

After washing up, Lu Heguang didn’t put on a shirt so Salorian could tend to his wound. Salorian, for his part, didn’t treat himself as an outsider. He knelt in front of Lu Heguang, not letting his eyes wander, and began removing the bandages.

This left Lu Heguang, who had wanted to show off his physique, feeling a little disappointed.

“The infirmary,” Salorian said, tossing the dirty bandages into the trash. “Actually, I ran into your dad earlier while waiting for you at the school gate.”

“You waited for me?” Lu Heguang’s lips curved upward. “I’m so happy.”

“Don’t be happy. If you tense your abs, I won’t be able to work,” Salorian said, patting his stomach. Lu Heguang obediently relaxed, looking down at Salorian’s slender fingers as he used tweezers to remove dead skin from the wound. “Doesn’t it hurt?”

“You’re being very gentle, senior. It doesn’t hurt,” Lu Heguang said softly. “I thought you had forgotten about me.”

“How could I possibly…” Salorian’s words trailed off abruptly, annoyed at himself for nearly letting that slip. Just then, Lu Heguang’s hand grew restless, daring to boldly reach for the back of his neck!

The most vulnerable and sensitive spot being touched, Salorian instantly stiffened, threatening through gritted teeth, “Stop moving around. I’m still holding a knife.”

“Did it hurt when I bit you?” Lu Heguang didn’t push his luck, obediently withdrawing his hand to rest on his knees, gazing down at that soft spot. “Senior, senior, why aren’t you saying anything…”

“Of course it hurt the first time I was marked. You even drew blood,” Salorian said irritably, yet his hands still gently applied a clean bandage. “Anyone would think you were a vampire.”

“I’m sorry, I have no experience,” Lu Heguang lowered his head and whispered. “I’ve never done this to anyone before.”

Salorian listened, at a loss for words as if he had been marked before. “Alright, put your clothes on.”

“Are you leaving, senior?” Lu Heguang had just put on his shirt when he saw Salorian moving his suitcase toward the door.

Salorian hummed in acknowledgment, hesitating as he looked at him. “Hey, want to come over to my place?”

Maybe once Lu Heguang got to know him and his family, he’d give up on pursuing him Salorian thought to himself.

By then, he could also go get the mark removed with peace of mind.

Lu Heguang’s eyes lit up. “Sure.”
