Zhou Jin did not even realize it himself.
The way he was breaking down right now was exactly like a desperate husband who had caught his wife cheating, only to have her shield the other man. Unfortunately, the single-threaded brain of this straight man could not yet fully comprehend why he was so angry. Zhou Jin simply found everything before him an eyesore: Wei Chi’s protective stance was an eyesore, and the little widower’s attempt to drive him away for the sake of another man was an eyesore.
It made it feel as though he were the villain tearing a pair of mandarin ducks apart.
Zhou Jin’s face was so dark it looked as if it might drip ink. His eyes remained fixed on the marks on the little widower’s neck, and his rough fingertips involuntarily increased their pressure, grinding against that delicate skin. He watched as those marks were covered by the new friction.
“Mmh,” Lin Min murmured. His skin was so fair and tender that a mark could be made with the slightest touch. He was still somewhat dazed, not understanding why there was anything to fight over.
In the eyes of these straight men, was being kept in a room by a little widower like him something worth showing off?
The beautiful husband sluggishly tried to explain, but the movement of him flinching away made Zhou Jin’s chest heave with rage. His tanned skin flushed red from anger.
“Now you know it hurts? Just now in your husband’s bedroom, when he did this to you, why weren’t you afraid of the pain?”
He stared intensely at the disheveled Lin Min and shot a fierce glare at Wei Chi, who had emerged from the wardrobe. His handsome, casual features were practically spitting fire. Zhou Jin pressed forward two more steps, looming over him.
Gazing into the husband’s moist, red eyes, he spoke with a cold, fake smile, though it was unclear who he was addressing. “Are you really that desperate for a man? Even a boring guy like this can make you feel that good?”
Only yesterday, this person had actively burrowed into his arms, wearing that kind of outfit and blushing as he tried to seduce him. Yet today, he had already switched targets.
“Zhou Jin.”
Seeing that the words were becoming increasingly out of line, Wei Chi, who had been watching the husband, finally spoke again. He interrupted Zhou Jin’s more offensive remarks before the pale-faced husband could defend himself. He took a step forward, subtly pulling the thin, beautiful husband behind him.
Wei Chi looked at this rabid dog who was jealous without realizing it. After everything that had happened, he did not actually believe the husband was intentionally orchestrating all this to seduce men. Furthermore, they were players. They should not be getting entangled with Non-Player Characters. If the character were frightened by this person and kicked them all out of the villa, completing the mission would only become harder.
Wei Chi stared at Zhou Jin, who was clearly so infatuated with the character that he had completely forgotten his own identity. Wei Chi’s voice was steady. “Do you still remember who you are? In other words, what right do you have to control him?”
A slight tug came from his arm.
Without looking, he knew the blind, beautiful husband must be looking at him with a face full of dependence. Wei Chi did not brush him off, nor did he use the opportunity to comfort the uneasy man. He was not standing up for the bullied widower; he simply could not let an important character come to harm.
Zhou Jin clearly did not see it that way.
Seeing that even the rigid, straight man who usually received the least attention from the widower was now more trusted than he was, he was almost moved to a cynical laugh. He especially hated how the little widower looked like Wei Chi’s little wife, obediently clutching the man’s sleeve and leaning on him.
Zhou Jin truly could not stand the sight.
“Rights? Then let me ask you, Wei Chi.” He leaned against the wardrobe with feigned relaxation and raised an eyebrow. “What right do you have to question me? You do not actually think that because he let you touch him a few times, you can really become this unfaithful little widower’s new husband, do you?”
Why act like a good person now?
Zhou Jin stared at Wei Chi’s expressionless face, his dark gaze then shifting to the beautiful husband clinging to Wei Chi. Although Lin Min could not see, he could feel the gaze landing on him with a physical weight. He worried the homophobic straight players might pick him up and beat him. His face turned paler as he instinctively hid further back.
In the next second, however, he bumped into a hard chest. Fingers with distinct joints gripped his trembling waist through the somewhat cold leather fabric.
Lin Min froze for a moment before realizing that the noise must have attracted Fu Chenyuan from downstairs. The man said nothing but simply helped him stand firmly. This happened to break the stagnant atmosphere in the room.
Fu Chenyuan’s tall figure appeared at the door. He was still dressed in his sophisticated manner, his handsome face wearing a faint, gentle smile. It was unclear how long he had been listening. He pushed the door open a bit wider and finally fixed his gaze on the panicked husband’s face.
With just a brief scan of the situation, Fu Chenyuan had already predicted what had occurred. His gaze inevitably swept over the beautiful husband’s well-proportioned, fair legs. He was not wearing pants. Given the little widower’s personality, perhaps he was not even wearing underwear beneath his shirt.
If he had not come over early, the little widower would have likely lured these two guys until they lost their heads. Then, he would have gone to knock on Fu Chenyuan’s door wearing only a top to expose his white legs, before pressing that trembling softness into his palm. Just like what happened yesterday. Rubbing against his hand.
The beautiful husband was very timid, yet he loved to secretly do such things to men. Once caught, he would tremble with fear, and perhaps he would even soil his clothes. It was very messy. For someone as fastidious as Fu Chenyuan, that was unbearable. The beautiful husband would also be made very dirty.
Fu Chenyuan looked down at the expression on the husband’s face, then turned toward the other two. “What happened? Why are you all in Mr. Lin’s room?” He took off his coat and wrapped it around the man.
“Then what are you doing here?” Zhou Jin, already angry about the widower’s closeness to Wei Chi, spoke with zero politeness now that Fu Chenyuan had arrived.
Fu Chenyuan looked at him calmly. “Mr. Lin has been frightened by several accidents today. It is lunchtime, so I specially ordered food from that private kitchen to help calm Mr. Lin’s nerves.”
He looked at the two players who had clearly forgotten about the instance and were currently fighting over a character.
“Forget it,” Zhou Jin finally remembered. Earlier, they had discussed downstairs that they would get the little widower drunk to find out exactly what was hidden in his bedroom. He belatedly realized his reaction was out of place.
But before he could think further, he saw the little widower, who had been scared to death just moments ago, immediately run toward Fu Chenyuan. Zhou Jin ground his teeth in resentment.
Wrapped in Fu Chenyuan’s coat, Lin Min’s mind was still in a mess. Although he had no appetite, Fu Chenyuan’s suggestion sounded reasonable, and he instinctively wanted to flee this room filled with the smell of gunpowder. Fearing further interrogation, he hurried to agree first.
However, as soon as Lin Min followed Fu Chenyuan and the others downstairs, he saw the man bring out a bottle of wine. Fu Chenyuan claimed that his nerves had been too tense these past few days, which was why he was frequently having hallucinations. Combined with being frightened by the body today, he suggested drinking a little to relax and avoid nightmares.
Lin Min did not actually like drinking because he became slow and clumsy when drunk. His reactions would become especially sluggish. Xie Mingyuan used to love taking advantage of him at those times. However, Lin Min was truly bad at refusing people. Unable to decline, he finally bit his lip and agreed. He could not see the gazes of the players landing on him and was muddled into drinking several glasses.
The alcohol began to take effect silently. By the time he regained some clarity, the beautiful husband’s eyes were covered with a moist sheen, appearing hazy and ignorant. Two alluring flushes of crimson bloomed on his snowy cheeks.
Lin Min could no longer recognize anyone clearly. He was so sleepy he could not keep his eyes open and fell straight toward the sofa, only to be caught by a man’s somewhat cool, large palm. The man held his chin as if supporting a kitten.
The beautiful husband instinctively pressed his own cool hand against his burning cheek. A gentle inquiry sounded in his ear. “Mr. Xie’s study seems to have been locked. We want to retrieve some documents. Does Mr. Lin know where the key is?”
Although the information suggested something was hidden in Xie Mingyuan and Lin Min’s bedroom, Fu Chenyuan wanted to check the locked study first. The man’s magnetic voice felt distant and unclear.
“Mr. Xie?” The beautiful husband could not see the man in front of him. He mimicked the man’s words, his voice carrying a waxy, nasal tone that was even softer than usual. “I do not want to drink anymore. I am a bit dizzy.”
Fu Chenyuan looked at the small, snowy face in his palm. He was as obedient as a kitten. His fingertips unconsciously rubbed the beautiful husband’s slightly red, burning cheek, then paused. “Yes, Xie Mingyuan. Where is the key to your husband’s study?”
Fu Chenyuan looked down at the confused, blind husband. Seeing the other person mutter a few words, he leaned down to hear more clearly, only to be surprised in the next second when a pair of white arms wrapped around his neck.
The beautiful husband burrowed into his embrace, his cheek rubbing against the man’s tensed chest.
“Husband? You are my husband.”
Lin Min was so drunk his mind was unclear. He thought Xie Mingyuan was finding another reason to tease him again. This seemingly pure and beautiful husband actually already knew very well how to soothe a man. He actively opened his mouth to the man, revealing a tender pink tongue behind his white teeth.
“Husband, do not bully me anymore.”
“I will give you a kiss.”
