Lin Min was very curious about what Wei Chi’s fear could be.

He did not know much about this character, other than that he seemed to be a man of few words, easier to get along with than Zhou Jin, and without the constant worry of being led into a trap like with Fu Chenyuan. He was very tall, but his emotions were unexpectedly stable. Furthermore, he could not only kill but also cook. He was like a fierce looking but incredibly loyal guard dog. Thus, Lin Min wondered if there was anything in this world that Wei Chi would fear. If there was, it must be something truly terrifying.

While Lin Min was lost in thought, he did not notice that the two players in front of him had stopped. It was only when he bumped into Zhou Jin’s back that he sluggishly reacted.Full novel: Does the Honest Holy Father Have to be a Heartthrob Too? “Why are you not speaking? What happened? Is there another scary monster?” He immediately grew tense.

As the monster images from horror movies became increasingly vivid in his mind, he suddenly heard a very familiar voice. The tone was clear and gentle, but the articulation seemed a bit soft. “Mr. Wei, why do you not open the door?”

It was Lin Min’s own voice.

He could suddenly guess where they were. This was the day in the hallway when he had been delivering ginger tea, only to be surrounded by Zhou Jin and Fu Chenyuan and interrogated until he was nearly in tears. Afterward, he had worried that Wei Chi’s injuries were too much for the man to handle alone, so he had followed him. Lin Min was stunned. Could Wei Chi’s greatest fear actually be him?

As Lin Min stood there in disbelief, a young player’s hot palm gripped his wrist. The tone was casual, but rough fingertips subconsciously squeezed him as if in punishment. “What exactly did you do to Wei Chi after following him back to his room to scare him like this?”

Zhou Jin’s suspicious voice rang out, and if one listened closely, a hint of gritted teeth could be heard. He, too, finally remembered that the scene before them was the day he had been abandoned by the little widower in the hallway. He had worked so hard to win over the clue providing Non Player Character, yet the little widower had chosen neither him nor Fu Chenyuan. Instead, he had left with Wei Chi, who had appeared halfway through.

Zhou Jin did not suspect Wei Chi. After all, Wei Chi was famous among the players for being cold and detached. There were even rumors that he was impotent. Therefore, he assumed the little widower must have abandoned them for the useless Wei Chi, following the man into his room like a little obsessed fan with a blushing face, only to do something unexpected that caused Wei Chi’s nightmares to be filled with the widower’s face.

At this thought, Zhou Jin’s narrow and wolf like dark eyes narrowed dangerously. His rough fingertips pinched the little widower’s chin to observe his expression.

“I did not,” Lin Min protested. It hurt a little being pinched, and he instinctively struggled, but he could not break free. He could only let the tall man tilt his face up, not missing a single flicker of expression.

He heard the sound of a door opening. They must have entered with the medical kit. Lin Min knit his brows slightly. His eyelashes, still damp from the earlier accident, trembled. He felt embarrassed. “I only went in to help Mr. Wei with some medicine. Perhaps we should stop watching.”

Being watched like this felt very strange. The usually good natured and popular husband was also a bit upset at being disliked. He did not want to know how he had become someone’s fear. Lin Min recalled the situation. He had only helped with the bandages and had barely even touched Wei Chi. Why was this Wei Chi’s greatest fear?

“If you did nothing, why are you afraid? If you were not guilty, you would not be so desperate to leave,” Zhou Jin pinched his face, an indescribable emotion rising in his heart. “Did you secretly drug him to make him do things to you? No wonder you hid him in the closet later.”

He felt inexplicably irritated. As he spoke, Zhou Jin reached out and trapped the little widower, who was trying to slip away, with one arm around his waist. He looked like a husband discovering his wife’s infidelity. By the time Lin Min’s feet left the ground, it was already too late to struggle. The strong arm of the young college student restricted his waist, making him feel uncomfortable. Just as Lin Min frowned and clutched his stomach, another hand gripped his waist.

“Zhou Jin, you are hurting Mr. Lin.”

Fu Chenyuan’s voice sounded. Zhou Jin, who had intended to carry the person straight to the room, stopped and looked at his sinister rival who had suddenly started acting like a good person. He was almost moved to an angry laugh. This guy was always like this, putting on a dignified front to coax the little widower.

The problem was that a fool like Lin Min fell for it every time. As soon as he heard Fu Chenyuan’s voice, the soft body in Zhou Jin’s arms began to squirm, rubbing against him until Zhou Jin’s face darkened and the veins on his forehead throbbed. He barely managed to suppress his impulses. The little widower in his arms then grabbed Fu Chenyuan’s arm like a bird returning to its nest, allowing the man to lead him away. It made Zhou Jin’s teeth itch with rage. He wanted to chase after them but feared he would scare the boy into tears.

It was not that Zhou Jin felt sorry for him. It was just that they needed this little widower to get out. If anything happened to him due to fright, the instance Boss would likely take them all down with him. He told himself he truly did not care. Zhou Jin slowly unclenched his fists.

Lin Min rarely lost his temper. Now that Fu Chenyuan had rescued him from Zhou Jin’s arms, he gratefully rubbed against the man’s firm chest muscles. Only after doing so did he realize that the person holding him was not Xie Mingyuan, but his husband’s young subordinate. Lin Min moved his legs awkwardly, wanting to ask Fu Chenyuan to put him down, but he suddenly realized things were not quite right. The man did not put him down. Instead, he continued walking forward while carrying him. He widened his eyes in bewilderment. “Where are we going? We can just watch from here.”

Lin Min had a bad feeling.

“For the sake of Wei Chi’s safety, we should take a look. Mr. Lin, you do not want anything to happen to him, do you?” Fu Chenyuan’s voice was gentle and magnetic, contrasting with his forceful actions. He easily carried the person in his arms to the door.

Nearby, Zhou Jin watched as the little widower looked as limp as a cat being held by the scruff of its neck, and he could not help but laugh. He purposefully pinched Lin Min’s cheek, the gloom in his handsome eyes finally dissipating a little. “Now you know none of them are good people, right? Stay away from them in the future.” He stopped just short of saying he was the only one the boy could rely on.

“Do not frighten him,” Fu Chenyuan said, his tone as calm as ever. Like a rightful husband, he brought his disobedient little wife to the door and set him down. He seemed easy to talk to, but his broad shoulders blocked the husband’s only path of retreat.

As soon as Lin Min’s feet hit the floor, he heard the sound of his past self rummaging through the medical kit inside the room. He felt an immediate wave of embarrassment. Zhou Jin leaned against the other side of the doorframe, watching the scene unfold inside with great interest. “Is Wei Chi really this weak? I do not see anything special. Little widower, you should stop putting effort into his body. I heard he is impotent. In all these years, not a single breathing soul has ever stayed by his side.” As for Zhou Jin himself, he considered his own lack of partners a form of self discipline.

Lin Min’s wet eyelashes trembled. He decided to ignore Zhou Jin’s strange comments, but Zhou Jin seemed determined to make him feel awkward and kept talking. “How did you seduce him? Did you let him taste your tongue, or did you purposefully expose yourself like you did with Fu Chenyuan? This kind of person.”

Zhou Jin’s mockery came to an abrupt halt. It was replaced by a suppressed and heavy silence where one could almost hear him grinding his teeth. Lin Min looked up in confusion. He could not see, but he could clearly feel the sudden change in the breathing of the two men beside him. A tension he could not understand filled the air. The expressions on the two players’ faces were remarkably similar, both carrying an inexplicable darkness.

Zhou Jin, in particular, watched as the little widower in the room did not leave after being told to by Wei Chi. Instead, he placed the bandages into the man’s palm and offered to help. Then, those fair fingertips reached eagerly toward the man’s well defined abdominal muscles.

Does he like a man’s body that much? Zhou Jin sneered, suppressing the urge to rush in and pull them apart. He stood up straight, wanting to see how many more tricks this little widower had to use on a man. He even imagined what kind of face the little widower would make after being scolded by a wooden block like Wei Chi. It had nothing to do with him anyway, Zhou Jin thought resentfully, yet his gaze kept returning to the face of the little widower who seemed oblivious to everything.

However, he was soon forced to focus as he noticed something was wrong. Lin Min must have touched Wei Chi somewhere sensitive. The tall man suddenly groaned, his muscles tensing into sharp lines. Then, the little widower was ushered out. Zhou Jin narrowed his eyes suspiciously. In his memory, Wei Chi did not seem like someone who would lose his composure so easily. Could it be that the straight man’s homophobia was truly that severe?

While he was pondering this, the version of Wei Chi inside the room sat quietly on the bed, clutching the bandages the little widower had touched. After a long time, he finally moved. That hand, covered in thin calluses from killing and accustomed to holding weapons, very slowly brought the white bandage, carrying the little widower’s scent, to his straight nose. A large shadow loomed beneath him. He did not look impotent at all.

“Why is Wei Chi suddenly breathing so hard? Are his injuries very serious?” Lin Min found it strange, but his feelings were mostly of guilt for not being more firm in helping the man that day, leaving him to treat his wounds alone.

As soon as Lin Min finished speaking, a hot palm suddenly covered his ears. He twitched his small nose, catching the familiar scent of wood toned men’s cologne. Just as he was about to ask Fu Chenyuan why he was covering his ears, he felt the temperature in the air drop sharply. Lin Min immediately had a bad feeling. Sure enough, in the next second, his bare snowy ankles were tightly coiled by a familiar chill. A cold chest pressed against Lin Min’s back, and Xie Mingyuan’s large palm gripped his waist before moving to his lips which were trembling with fear.

“Why is Baby so foolish? You were tricked again. He was not injured at all. He just wanted to feed you something filthy the moment you touched him. To think he wanted to do something so disgusting. Shall Husband kill this filthy pest for you?”
