Wei Chi’s footsteps came to a sudden halt.

He almost thought he was having an auditory hallucination. However, as the beautiful husband’s voice trailed off, a cool, delicate palm gripped his wrist with a noticeable tremble. That hand formed an extremely sharp contrast against his own, which was covered in thick calluses and scars. It was so fragile that it felt as though he could shatter it with just a little bit of force.

Wei Chi looked down at the excessively fair hand. Its fingertips were turned slightly pink from the effort of the grip. Then, he followed the arm up to its owner: the little widower who, just moments ago, had been scared pale and had sprung away like a startled animal.Full novel: Does the Honest Holy Father Have to be a Heartthrob Too? The blind husband tilted his face upward. Although his hollow eyes lacked focus, he still struggled to look toward him. His beautiful face remained bloodless and his lips trembled softly, yet the hand grasping Wei Chi did not let go, even though his fingertips were rubbed pink.

Lin Min did not know why the area had suddenly become quiet. Thinking that Wei Chi had not heard him, he tightened his grip on the tall man’s arm and repeated his question. “Are you injured? There is a medical kit in the villa. I can go get it for you.”

Lin Min was relieved that Wei Chi had arrived. Although he was genuinely worried that the man was hurt, he was more eager to use this opportunity to escape from Zhou Jin’s interrogation.

The air seemed to freeze in that moment.

Nearby, Zhou Jin’s eyes widened in disbelief. He had originally adjusted his expression and prepared to say a few comforting words in a strained manner. He wanted to make up for his earlier tactless remarks and pull the little widower’s attention away from Fu Chenyuan and back to himself.

But what did he just hear? Instead of being frightened out of his wits by the blood covering Wei Chi, this little widower was actually concerned for him. He was even taking the initiative to go to the man’s room in the middle of the night.

Did this little widower have a crush on Wei Chi now? That guy was so much taller and bulkier. He had heard that before entering this game, Wei Chi was an underground fighter who risked his life in every instance. Was the little widower not afraid of being played to death?

Fu Chenyuan, that insidious fellow, was one thing. But how could even this dull, heartless killing machine be more likable than him?

Thinking of what had just happened, Zhou Jin felt irritable. Does he really hate me now?

Zhou Jin knit his brows and looked over. When he saw his own jacket draped over the little widower’s shoulders, he felt as if he had been burned. He cleared his throat and spoke with feigned impatience. “Where is the medicine box? I will go with you.”

It was not that he cared so much about the little widower. He had just snatched the man away from Fu Chenyuan, and he could not simply watch him be taken by Wei Chi.

“No need. I will go get it myself,” Wei Chi said, finally withdrawing his gaze from the beautiful husband. Seeing how Lin Min subconsciously hid toward him, Wei Chi realized the little widower was using him to avoid Zhou Jin and Fu Chenyuan.

Whether it was because of the look in the widower’s eyes or the fact that he could not walk away while those cool fingertips were gripping his wrist, Wei Chi rarely did not refuse. He decided to treat it as a small favor to a clue providing Non Player Character. In any case, he believed the character would not truly want to enter his room, and he would not allow it anyway.

His gaze moved from Zhou Jin’s hesitant expression to the little widower’s trembling eyelashes. “You can just tell me where it is.”

Wei Chi did not shake off the hand.

Watching this scene, a clear trace of surprise flashed through Fu Chenyuan’s deep eyes, followed by a dark glint. He had predicted various reactions from the little widower: crying, seeking protection, or even hiding behind him again. He never expected that the boy would bypass both him and Zhou Jin to show concern for Wei Chi, who looked the most dangerous.

Fu Chenyuan suddenly curled his lips into a smile. Looking at the guilt the beautiful husband could not hide, he understood what was happening. He had thought the boy was a fool, but he turned out to be quite clever.

Lin Min did not know his little scheme had been discovered. Fearing that Zhou Jin would persist, he gripped Wei Chi’s muscular arm with a sense of urgency. Feeling the man’s tensed muscles, Lin Min felt a twinge of guilt for using this seemingly honest man. His tone softened involuntarily. “It is downstairs in the living room. If you are in pain, you can go to your room and wait for me first.”

Lin Min knew that players in the game faced danger. He just had not realized it would be this severe, with someone getting so badly injured on the very first night. Beside his fear, he felt a bit of genuine worry.

Wei Chi’s cold face remained expressionless. He felt somewhat uneasy being treated with such care, but feeling the little widower’s fingertips still trembling, he did not explain that most of the blood on him was not his own.

Lin Min guided him toward the stairs, deliberately ignoring the two burning gazes behind him. He was especially worried about Zhou Jin. If he did not run now, he was afraid of being bullied again.

Fortunately, Zhou Jin did not chase after him.

After Lin Min retrieved the medical kit, he followed Wei Chi back upstairs out of a sense of debt, intending to see if he could help. By this time, the other two players had presumably left. He heard no other sounds in the hallway. When Wei Chi stopped walking, Lin Min nearly bumped into the man’s back again. He realized they were at the bedroom door.

Lin Min tilted his head in confusion, wondering why Wei Chi had stopped at the threshold. After a long silence, the man finally opened the door.

There was no strange smell in the room. There was only the sharp, cold scent of men’s cologne. It was not heavy and smelled quite similar to the scent on Wei Chi’s body.

Because Lin Min was blind, he had to rely on his other senses. During the brief silence, he unconsciously tilted his face up, his small white nose twitching slightly. He looked like a small animal that had wandered into a strange territory, carefully sniffing the air to confirm his surroundings. His moist lips were unconsciously pursed.

He did not know that, in the eyes of a man, this appearance invited certain suggestive thoughts.

Wei Chi leaned against the doorframe without closing it completely. He had expected the little widower to leave after handing over the kit, but he was caught off guard by this sight. His Adam’s apple bobbed. Wei Chi realized that letting this seemingly harmless but bold widower inside might have been a mistake.

However, he had a steady temperament. Even seeing this, the expression on his face did not change, nor did he kick the boy out. Regardless of why the little widower had taken an interest in him, Wei Chi’s desires were thin; he could not give the boy what he wanted. He figured the boy would leave once he hit a dead end.

Wei Chi looked at the widower’s hollow eyes and then tossed his soiled shirt into the trash. His well-defined muscles were exposed to the air. There was only a three centimeter wound on the upper right side of his abdominal muscles. Since it was difficult to bandage, he intended to simply disinfect it to ensure there was no infection.

Lin Min heard the rustling movements. He felt awkward, but remembering he was there to help, he maintained a forced composure. He felt through the medical kit and pulled out the alcohol, iodine, and bandages.

However, the man only took the first two items.

Lin Min gripped the bandages in his hand and knit his brows in confusion. “Mr. Wei, are you not going to bandage the wound?”

Wei Chi did not understand what he meant. He stopped his movement toward the shower. He wanted to see what this little widower actually intended to do by following him inside. He turned to face Lin Min and said simply, “Bandage.”

Wei Chi recalled that the little widower had just lost his husband; perhaps he was very interested in a man’s body.

“I will help you hold the bandage. That way, it will be easier for you to use both hands,” Lin Min said. He remembered the scars he felt on the man’s wrist earlier and felt that he was quite pitiable.

He did not know that the man’s cold gaze was circling his red, moist lips.

Wei Chi remained noncommittal toward the widower’s words. He was naturally a person with very low libido. Even if the little widower sat on his lap, he would not be interested. Thus, he allowed the other person to pull him down to sit.

“I will be gentle,” Lin Min said, unaware that his actions were being misunderstood again.

His wrist was held by the man’s palm, and then his fingertips touched burning hot muscle. As the muscle hardened with his movements, Lin Min pursed his lips and carefully pressed down.

Even though Lin Min’s movements were very light, the man began to pant. It sounded as if the pain was becoming unbearable.

Before Lin Min could apologize, his hand was suddenly released as if the man had been burned. Then, Wei Chi’s voice rang out, sounding inexplicably hoarse. “It is tied. You should go back now.”

But Lin Min had not even finished doing anything yet. Before he could react, the cold, mechanical electronic voice of 0766 sounded in his ear:

“Congratulations, Host! Mission complete!” “Saint Value +15%”

Dazed, he was ushered out of the room by the man. He confusedly tapped into his mind to speak to 0766. “Was the mission not supposed to involve being misunderstood and then kicked out?”

“Wei Chi did not seem to misunderstand anything.”

“Does it count as long as I am kicked out of the room?”

In that case, Wei Chi was much better than Zhou Jin. He did not have to be bullied with those mean words to complete the task.

Lin Min asked for a long time but received no answer. Standing in the hallway, he felt inexplicably cold. He pulled the jacket tighter around himself, but soon a chill seeped through his collar. He knit his brows and shifted uncomfortably.

What was that?

He did not dwell on it. He adjusted his collar and walked toward his bedroom.
