Тhis was prоbably а hint—Jing Ge had bеen wronged аt Wоmеi.

Zhang Ноng quickly straightеned uр. “I hаven’t beеn to the сomраnу much lаtely. I shоuld go chесk thе accounts today.”

“Hоw is hеr work?” Li Musi asked саsually, as if mаking smаll talk. “Has she been slacking off?”

“She picks things up quickly,” Zhang Hong said. “I suggested making her a regular employee in her first month, but her supervisor said she’s a bit slow and wanted her to practice more. You know how it is—the boss has to help managers maintain their authority, so I couldn’t interfere.”

Li Musi: “I understand.”

Zhang Hong said awkwardly, “I didn’t know she was your family’s child…”

Li Musi: “Don’t worry about it. Young people have big tempers. If she finds out, she’ll say we’re meddling.”

“I understand, I understand. I’ll keep it confidential,” Zhang Hong said. “Should I put her in charge of these fifty containers?”

Forget putting her in charge—he’d give her a manager’s position if needed.

This was the God of Wealth.

“No need to give her special treatment,” Li Musi said calmly. “But if she’s ever pushed out one day, just handle it fairly.”

Zhang Hong was taken aback. “Pushed out?”

What did that mean?

Li Musi glanced at him. “You really should go back to the company and take a look.”

Jing Ge didn’t clock in for Anna.

She replied: [Sis, I was late too.]

But when Anna frantically clocked in at the last second, Jing Ge was already at her workstation.

Even the slowest person would understand what was happening.

Jing Ge had lied to her and refused to clock in for her.

Anna’s smile vanished, and she slammed a folder onto Jing Ge’s desk.

The noise was loud.

Everyone in the cubicle area looked over.

“Make three copies of all these. I need them in half an hour.”

“…” Jing Ge looked up at her. “Sis, you said this order I’m working on needs to be rushed and sent to the market…”

Anna: “That’s your problem. You need to figure out how to handle it. This is work, this is the workplace. No one’s going to coddle you!”

Jing Ge pressed her lips together, picked up the folder, and went to the copy room.

Hundreds of pages needed copying.

Half an hour was nowhere near enough.

To make matters worse, the copier was broken, and a technician was fixing it.

Jing Ge brought her laptop over, working on the order while waiting for the copier to be repaired.

Just ten minutes later, Anna walked in. “Is the order ready? The client is pushing. The production timeline is long. Every minute you delay, they’ll start a day later.”

“It’s ready,” Jing Ge said. “I just need to adjust the images…”

Anna: “Give it to me now!”

Jing Ge handed her the laptop directly.

Anna didn’t take it, crossing her arms and looking down on her. “Think you’ve grown wings, huh? Have you forgotten who taught you everything you know now?”

The technician couldn’t help but glance over.

“Teaching me was part of your job,” Jing Ge said calmly. “You were paid for it. Training newcomers is part of your responsibilities, not some favor you’re doing me.”

Anna stared at her sharply. “There’s a difference between training newcomers properly and doing it half-heartedly. Did I train you properly or not?”

Jing Ge: “You know the answer.”

“What do you mean?” Anna snapped. “Are you trying to say I didn’t teach you properly?”

At this point, she even started rallying allies. “All of you, come here!”

The copy room was instantly crowded.Anna spoke word by word, her words sharp and incisive, listing examples from the past five months of mentoring her—how she had to apologize to factories and clients for mistakes Jing Ge made, how she stayed up all night revising documents because of a single punctuation error Jing Ge missed… and so on.

Jing Ge was just an intern.

An intern who wasn’t close to anyone in the team.

No one would stand by her.

Anna lifted her chin, looking down at her with a haughty expression.

Jing Ge didn’t want to take it anymore.

She would turn twenty this July. She had just stepped out of school, she was still young, her life wasn’t over, and it wouldn’t be destroyed by a single job.

Li Musi was right—the sky wouldn’t fall.

Once this thought took root, the courage she thought had long vanished instantly sprouted. She realized there was nothing to fear. Things were already this bad—what more was there to be afraid of?

Jing Ge met her gaze. “That mistake wasn’t mine. I was covering for you. I have proof. You stayed up all night fixing a punctuation mark—maybe you should question your own work ability, or wonder if you were just slacking off to earn overtime pay?”

“……”

The entire room fell silent.

“I clocked in for you ten times,” Jing Ge said, “and as a result, I got docked six hundred yuan from my full attendance bonus. If you had any shame at all, you’d pay me back and apologize!”

Jing Ge continued, “I also thought you were good to me. I just left school and didn’t understand the workplace. I did whatever you told me. Now you’re turning on me without a second thought—what kind of act are you putting on?”

Anna’s face flushed crimson, her fingers trembling. “Jing… Ge!”

“I couldn’t understand why. You ordered me to rush to the company in the middle of the night. I sat in the cold wind thinking for a long time,” Jing Ge said. “But then I stopped thinking, because there was nothing to think about. Some people are just born bad—born to scheme, born to frame others, born to envy talented and beautiful young girls!”

“……”

Even the tech guy stopped working.

The few-square-meter copy room was dead silent.

Anna bit her lip until it bled, her body trembling for a moment. “You failed your internship. You’re fired!”

“Fire who—”

A man’s voice suddenly came from outside.

Everyone turned their heads in unison.

It was their boss.

Anna’s expression changed instantly. Tears fell faster than anyone’s as she choked out an explanation of what had happened.

Zhang Hong said lightly, “Then assign someone else to mentor her.”

“…Mr. Zhang!” Anna’s pupils contracted. “What do you mean?”

Zhang Hong stated objectively, “She speaks English, German, and French. Does anyone else here speak all three? We’ll need her for future international exhibitions. The company needs her.”

Anna protested, “But she…”

Zhang Hong’s refined face turned cold and stern. “Call HR over. Have them sign a formal contract with Jing Ge.”

Anna: “”

The situation had escalated so abruptly that it exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Including Jing Ge herself.

When she left work, her face was still flushed.

Burning hot.

Uncle Zhang came to pick her up. Jing Ge excitedly hugged him. “Uncle Zhang! I got my permanent position!”

“…Really?” Uncle Zhang was happy for her. “You have to treat us!”

“Absolutely!”

Back at the Li residence, Li Musi happened to be stepping out of the driver’s seat.

Jing Ge rushed over, about to hug him like she had hugged Uncle Zhang, but suddenly remembered something and quickly stopped herself. Still, her eyes sparkled. “Uncle! I got my permanent position!”

The girl’s eyes were bright, her apple cheeks flushed pink—a vitality he hadn’t seen in a long time.

Li Musi lifted the corner of his lips slightly. “Did you get a raise?””Yes!!” Jing Ge nodded vigorously, “The base salary is 6,800, plus 500 per container commission, and also, I’ll get to participate in international exhibitions in the future. If I develop my own clients, I can earn a percentage!”

A monthly salary of over ten thousand was right within reach.

The glow of the setting sun shone on her, a beautiful rosy hue.

Li Musi suddenly felt dazed. After a moment of hesitation, he patted her head gently, just as he would pat Li Ying:

“Well done, I’m proud of you, little niece.”
