Gu Huaichuan wasn’t angry. He simply smiled, and there was more relief than anything else in that smile.

“Suisi, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you, and you’re still as naive as ever. But seriously, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you, and you look even prettier now. To be honest, I’ve actually missed you quite a bit with you not by my side.”

As he spoke, Gu Huaichuan slowly raised his hand and caressed Wen Yusui’s face, gazing at her with an infatuated expression.Full novel: Don’t Mess with Her! Miss Wen’s Koi Fortune Has Gone Wild — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Suppressing her disgust, Wen Yusui warned him, “Gu Huaichuan, I advise you to think carefully. If you keep entangling yourself with me at a time like this, be careful that all your plans end up amounting to nothing. Of course, if you think I’m more important than the Qiao Group, then by all means, continue.”

At those words, the clarity returned to Gu Huaichuan’s eyes. After thinking for a moment, he lowered his hand.

“Suisi, I promise I’ll sign the divorce papers. I’ll definitely do it. It’s just that splitting the assets involves the Gu family, so I need to discuss it with Mom first. As for the exact date I’ll sign, wait for me to let you know.”

Seeing how quickly he could change his attitude, Wen Yusui was so angry that she couldn’t help laughing.

Gu Huaichuan looked at her with a dark expression. “What are you laughing at?”

“What am I laughing at? I’m laughing at myself. I really underestimated how shameless you are and overestimated your sense of decency. Whatever. Since things have come to this, let’s just go through the legal process. Now move out of my way before I really lose control.”

She bit out the last few words through clenched teeth.

Gu Huaichuan, however, completely failed to read the murderous intent in her eyes. He said smugly, “Lose control of what? Don’t tell me you can’t control your regret and don’t want to divorce me anymore?”

Hearing this, the last bit of restraint Wen Yusui had completely shattered.

She raised her eyes and stared straight at him, her voice as cold as an icicle in winter. She forced an ugly smile onto her face.

“I’m going inside to get something. Is that okay?”

Gu Huaichuan had already achieved his objective, so naturally he wouldn’t stop her.

“Of course. I’ll go in with you. I’d like to see how you’re going to survive without me.”

Wen Yusui didn’t stop him.

She clenched the key in her hand and forcefully tried to insert it into the lock, but with her emotions on the verge of collapse, she couldn’t seem to get it in.

Gu Huaichuan simply snatched the key from her.

“See? You can’t even open the door without me. It’s understandable that you’d regret leaving me.”

He opened the door and walked inside first.

Wen Yusui closed the door behind them and stared fixedly at Gu Huaichuan’s back, a sinister smile slowly appearing on her face.

“Why is there so much dust in here? It’s filthy! Where have you been all this time? Were you with that guy He Yanzhou? I’m warning you, stay away from him! The way he looks at you doesn’t seem normal to me.”

Gu Huaichuan looked around the apartment.

“It’s so late. I’ll help you clean up a little. Otherwise, how are you going to sleep later? Suisi, if you really regret it, we don’t have to get divorced. Just wait until I get the Qiao Group…”

Gu Huaichuan kept rambling from the moment he entered.

Wen Yusui, meanwhile, headed straight for the kitchen. After searching for a long time, she finally found a fruit knife.

She tested it by stabbing the air a few times and found that it felt quite comfortable in her hand.

Her fingers tightened around the handle as she slowly walked toward Gu Huaichuan.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Gu Huaichuan assumed that Wen Yusui had been moved by his words and was coming to throw herself into his arms.

He stopped speaking halfway through, curled his lips into a confident smile, and turned around.

“Suisi… I knew you were feeling—”

“What are you doing?! Wen Yusui! Are you crazy? Why are you holding a knife? Put it down!”

Gu Huaichuan was instantly scared out of his wits, barely able to get the words out.

He retreated step by step toward the door while trying to placate her.

“Suisi, don’t be impulsive! If you do this, you won’t just ruin me—you’ll ruin yourself too!”

Wen Yusui, however, smiled happily.

“A-Chuan, didn’t you say you love me? Since you love me, then come to hell with me. There’s nothing left in this world worth holding on to anyway.”

She then put on a pitiful expression.

“I have nothing left except you. Let’s live together under the same quilt and die in the same grave!”

With that, Wen Yusui charged forward with the knife.

But Gu Huaichuan reached the door first.

He violently flung it open and rushed outside, shouting as he fled, “Wen Yusui! You’re a complete lunatic!”

The door slammed shut.

Watching him flee in panic, Wen Yusui laughed so hard she could barely catch her breath.

He wanted to mess with her? He was still far too inexperienced!

Fortunately, she was an actress now. Acting was her profession, after all, so she could make it convincing.

She had finally driven that disgusting man out. He probably wouldn’t dare come back so easily now, which meant she could finally have some peace and quiet.

As for the divorce, she would leave it to a lawyer.

Wen Yusui stayed home and slept for several days, to the point where she could barely tell day from night anymore.

Then He Yanzhou called her.

“Yusui, how have you been resting these days?”

“Pretty well. Is there something you wanted to call me about?” Wen Yusui asked lazily.

It was almost as if He Yanzhou could sense her languid state through the phone. He chuckled softly.

“The drama you starred in is going to premiere in the next couple of days. I’ll come pick you up and take you to the company. How about we witness the viewership numbers for the premiere together?”

“Okay.”

“Have you eaten yet?” He Yanzhou asked gently.

Without thinking, Wen Yusui replied, “Not yet. I’ve been too busy catching up on sleep lately.”

“Then I’ll come pick you up and take you out to eat!”

“No need. I don’t really want to go out either,” Wen Yusui refused.

He Yanzhou, however, persuaded her.

“I wanted to treat you to a meal when the production wrapped, but you looked physically and mentally exhausted, so I didn’t want to bother you. And I haven’t disturbed you during this time either. We still haven’t had a meal together, have we?”

There was even a hint of deep regret in his voice.

“You’ve been cooped up at home for so long. It’s about time you came out and moved around a little. Besides, we can talk about your upcoming work. Don’t worry. It’ll only take the time of one meal. I absolutely won’t interfere with your rest.”

Wen Yusui felt that everything He Yanzhou said made sense. She couldn’t seem to find a reason to refuse anymore.

After hesitating for a moment, she agreed.

Wen Yusui dressed casually, and He Yanzhou was already waiting downstairs.

“Were you already nearby? Otherwise, how could you get here so quickly?”

“I happened to be nearby taking care of something. I figured you wouldn’t eat on time, so I thought I’d come and take you out.”

He Yanzhou knew that whenever they were filming, Wen Yusui almost never ate on time. He was always the one who had to practically force food into her hands.

Wen Yusui nodded.

He Yanzhou drove them to an upscale private restaurant.

“I heard the food here is quite special, and it’s quiet enough. I think you’ll like it.”

Wen Yusui looked around.

“It does look pretty nice. It’s not cheap here, is it?”

He Yanzhou froze for a moment before letting out a low chuckle.

“So, Miss Wen, are you saying you don’t plan on going in?”

“Of course I’m going in. Otherwise, wouldn’t that be wasting your thoughtfulness? He Yanzhou, remember to pay. I came here empty-handed.”

He Yanzhou’s voice was helpless yet indulgent.

“Okay.”

Wen Yusui had no idea that this seemingly peaceful dinner was about to usher in a storm.
