Regardless of Poseidon’s situation, Xiao Bai had already lost all courage to remain on the battlefield.

She fled in panic toward the seashore, rapidly transforming back into her true form as a Demon Spirit Great White Shark before plunging headfirst into the ocean.

Seeing her retreat, Poseidon frowned slightly.Full novel: Douluo Dalu: Reincarnated As Godzilla — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yet rather than feeling angry, he inwardly marveled at the strength displayed by the terrifying beast before him.

“This beast’s strength is truly extraordinary.

It possesses at least thirty percent of the power of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King…”

A strange thought suddenly emerged within Poseidon’s mind.

If he could subdue such a powerful Spirit Beast and make it his mount, then the prestige it would bring would surely surpass even Xiao Bai.

At the very least, finding some enormous sea Spirit Beast and bringing it back to appease the people would not be difficult.

After all, no one had ever seen the true appearance of this mysterious beast.

As long as Xiao Bai remained silent, who could possibly expose him?

The more Poseidon thought about it, the more his ambition swelled.

The seawater beneath his feet suddenly surged upward, lifting his body until he hovered diagonally behind the enormous water dragon’s head.

He raised his Sea God Trident high, his voice carrying the majesty of the ruler of the ocean.

“Beast!

Surrender immediately!

I am the Sea God who rules over all waters!”

As he shouted, Poseidon swung his trident violently, summoning even more seawater from the surrounding ocean and causing it to surge toward the battlefield in an attempt to completely suppress Godzilla.

Unfortunately, there was one rather significant problem.

Godzilla could not understand a single word he was saying.

He simply tilted his enormous head to the side, stared at Poseidon for several seconds, and then muttered with undisguised disdain.

“What kind of gibberish is that?

Forget it.

Eat my Atomic phlegm!”

He opened his enormous mouth.

“Heh—tui!”

The next instant, a faint blue radiance suddenly ignited at the very tip of Godzilla’s tail.

The blue light rapidly traveled upward along his dorsal spines.

One spine illuminated.

Then another.

Then a third.

Then a fourth.

The faint blue radiance continued climbing along his back until every dorsal plate from the tip of his tail to the base of his neck was glowing with increasingly dazzling energy.

The sight immediately caused Poseidon’s expression to change.

Those enormous dorsal spines suddenly contracted.

It was almost as though a gigantic weapon had been chambered and was waiting for the final trigger.

“Wait!”

An inexplicable sense of danger suddenly erupted within Poseidon’s heart.

For the first time since encountering Godzilla, genuine alarm flashed across his face.

Before he could react, Godzilla’s golden eyes suddenly began emitting a faint blue radiance.

The power accumulating within his body surged violently.

The Atomic Breath erupted.

In less than a heartbeat, the scorching blue-white beam tore through the enormous water dragon.

BOOM!

The water dragon was instantly pierced.

Its massive body violently exploded in midair, disintegrating into countless fragments of water that lost their original shape before crashing back into the ocean below.

But the attack did not stop there.

The Atomic Breath had pierced straight through the water dragon without losing its terrifying momentum.

The blue-white beam continued forward.

And directly behind the destroyed water dragon stood Poseidon.

Poseidon suddenly saw an enormous sphere of blinding blue light rushing toward him.

His pupils contracted.

He did not even have enough time to move one step.

The light was already upon him.

“I can’t—can’t dodge!

Damn it!”

At the critical moment, every hair on Poseidon’s body stood erect, and his scalp tingled violently beneath the overwhelming sensation of impending death.

He immediately unleashed every ounce of Spirit Power within his body.

“First Spirit Ability!

Second Spirit Ability!

Third Spirit Ability!”

One Spirit Ability after another erupted.

Poseidon’s Aura climbed rapidly toward its absolute peak.

Power surged through his body.

The surrounding ocean roared.

The Sea God Trident released dazzling blue light.

Yet none of it mattered.

No matter how much Spirit Power Poseidon poured into his defenses, and no matter how many powerful abilities he unleashed in succession, the scorching blue-white beam remained completely unstoppable.

It tore through everything in its path.

“I cannot die!”

Poseidon’s eyes were filled with unwillingness.

“I have already conquered the entire ocean!

I am the first Spirit Master to create my own God Position!

I cannot—”

His roar abruptly stopped.

The blue-white Atomic Breath swept over his body.

There was no prolonged struggle.

There was no final exchange.

There was not even enough time for Poseidon to comprehend what had happened.

His entire figure was completely obliterated by the terrifying energy, vanishing between heaven and earth as though he had never existed.

Poseidon did not understand.

He did not understand why, after conquering the entire ocean, he had never heard of such a terrifying Spirit Beast.

He did not understand why, despite unleashing his strongest abilities immediately, he had failed to cause even the slightest injury.

And he certainly did not understand that the terrifying Atomic Breath that had erased him had consumed only sixty percent of Godzilla’s nuclear energy reserves.

Godzilla remained standing.

He merely felt a faint trace of fatigue.

He casually flicked his enormous tail.

The resulting force instantly transformed into a violent hurricane, sweeping across the battlefield and blowing away the thick lingering mist in one motion.

The Sea God God Position, which would eventually be inherited by Tang San and command the wind and rain of the vast ocean, had been completely annihilated by a single blast of Godzilla’s Atomic Breath.

Only a faint streak of azure mist remained suspended in the air, lingering for a long time before gradually beginning to dissipate.

“Clang!”

A small object suddenly fell from the sky and struck the ground.

Godzilla lowered his head.

“What is this?”

He leaned closer and examined the object with curiosity.

“A trident?”

Godzilla picked it up between his claws.

The object was supposed to be the Sea God Trident, the divine weapon associated with Poseidon and later inherited by Tang San.

In this timeline, however, it had been reduced to something resembling a toothpick in Godzilla’s enormous claws.

Godzilla casually brought it toward his mouth.

Then he bit down.

Clang!

A tooth mark immediately appeared upon the trident.

Godzilla blinked.

“A little soft, and not particularly tasty.”

He stared at the small trident in confusion.

“Eh?

Why is it leaking water?”

He squeezed it slightly between his claws.

Clear water immediately seeped from the weapon.

Godzilla stared at it for several seconds before making a simple decision.

“I’ll keep it as a toothpick.”

The Sea God Trident, a weapon of extraordinary divine significance that would later become one of the most important divine weapons in the Douluo world, had just been casually designated as Godzilla’s toothpick.

The weapon had no idea how humiliating that was.

“One delicious meal ran away, but that’s fine.”

Godzilla looked toward the ocean.

“This one was beaten into mist, and the energy left behind is still pretty sufficient.”

He casually tossed the trident into a nearby tree.

The weapon embedded itself into the trunk with a soft thud.

Godzilla then walked several steps forward until he reached the place where Poseidon had disappeared.

The azure mist was still drifting there.

Without hesitation, Godzilla curled his enormous body around the area and settled down.

He began absorbing the Spirit Power and energy that had dispersed when Poseidon fell.

His enormous body slowly entered a state of deep absorption.

Then, suddenly, Godzilla opened his eyes.

“Wait.”

He seemed to remember something.

“Did I just see a Spirit Ring?”

Unfortunately, his body had already begun entering its charging state.

The thought was quickly buried beneath overwhelming exhaustion.

Godzilla’s eyes slowly closed.

Within moments, he fell into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, three days and three nights had already passed.

Xiao Bai remained near the seashore.

She repeatedly circled the island, searching desperately for any trace of Lord Sea God.

Yet Poseidon seemed to have vanished completely.

No matter how many times Xiao Bai called his name, she received no response.

Nevertheless, she could still faintly sense his presence upon the island.

That familiar Aura was there.

But as time continued passing, it gradually became weaker.

Thinner.

More distant.

As though it were slowly disappearing from the world itself.

Xiao Bai gritted her teeth.

She summoned every bit of courage she possessed and finally stepped onto the island once more.

Her body trembled slightly as she forced herself forward.

She lowered her voice and softly called out.

“Lord Sea God?”

Silence answered her.

Xiao Bai originally believed that Poseidon had merely been defeated temporarily and was recovering somewhere hidden on the island.

Perhaps he had suffered severe injuries and was unable to respond.

Perhaps he simply needed time.

She desperately wanted that to be true.

Until she accidentally saw it.

A familiar trident was quietly embedded within a tree.

Xiao Bai’s eyes widened.

The weapon itself was unmistakable.

It was Poseidon’s Sea God Trident.

Even more horrifying, however, was what surrounded the sleeping giant beast nearby.

A faint remnant of Poseidon’s Aura enveloped Godzilla’s enormous body.

With every slow breath Godzilla took, that familiar Aura weakened further.

It was being absorbed.

Slowly.

Continuously.

Xiao Bai stood completely frozen.

Her pupils trembled as the truth finally entered her mind.

“Lord Sea God…

Lord Sea God is dead?”

The words escaped her mouth almost inaudibly.

She stood motionless, her mind completely blank.

She could not accept it.

She refused to accept it.

But reality was merciless.

There was no other explanation.

That was Lord Sea God.

The Rank 99 Titled Douluo who had once unified the entire ocean.

The human powerhouse whose legend had been built over one thousand and one years.

The existence who had even managed to blind one eye of the terrifying Deep Sea Demon Whale King.

And yet…

He had fallen just like this.

Xiao Bai did not remember how she eventually returned to Sea God Island.

She did not remember how she explained everything.

She did not even remember how much time had passed before she finally regained her senses.

Whenever she faced the Seven Sacred Pillar Guardian Douluo or the questions of the various ocean tribes, she would always give them the same answer.

“Lord Sea God is currently locked in battle with a Vicious Beast and cannot appear right now.”

No one knew whether her words were true or false.

But there was one thing they could not deny.

The terrifying Vicious Beast that had once ravaged the waters around Sea God Island had stopped making trouble.

The sea gradually returned to peace.

One hundred years passed.

Lord Sea God still had not appeared.

Yet his legend of battling the terrifying Vicious Beast continued spreading throughout the ocean.

Two hundred years passed.

Lord Sea God still did not appear.

Without the protection of the Sea God, Sea God Island could no longer maintain control over the entire ocean, and the various tribes gradually began stirring once more.

Three hundred years passed.

The once-unified ocean completely fractured again.

Although Xiao Bai continued insisting that Lord Sea God was not dead and was merely still locked in battle with the Vicious Beast, the people and aquatic tribes had long since stopped believing her.

Five thousand years passed.

Then ten thousand.

Then twenty thousand.

The passage of time slowly buried the miracles of the former Sea God.

The once-glorious Sea God Temple gradually fell into ruin.

The Sea God shrines became dilapidated.

The Seven Sacred Pillars were no longer surrounded by the glory they once possessed.

The ocean remembered only a single legend.

“The sinner of the sea, Poseidon, fought everywhere for his own selfish ambitions, causing countless ocean tribes to suffer misery and hardship until the Ocean Sacred Beast appeared, destroyed the sinner Poseidon, and returned a bright and peaceful world to the people.”

Only one person knew that the legend was false.

The Devil Spirit Great White Shark.

Xiao Bai.

“The legend of the Sea God is the true one.”

On one particular day, Xiao Bai encountered a young female Spirit Master.

Her name was Xixi.

Her long sea-blue hair flowed casually behind her, and whenever Xiao Bai looked at her, she would sometimes fall into a daze because that familiar appearance reminded her faintly of the former Lord Sea God.

Yet what truly shocked Xiao Bai was the girl’s extraordinary talent.

It was the greatest talent Xiao Bai had witnessed in twenty thousand years.

In fact, apart from Lord Sea God himself, she was perhaps the person most likely to become a god.

And her name was—

Bo Saixi.
