First, consider plant-type Spirit Beasts. As for other types of Spirit Beasts, we'll see what luck brings.
There is a Jade Swan Spirit Beast that would be very suitable as a first spirit ring, but this Spirit Beast is extremely rare and hard to find.
What's more, the Star Dou Great Forest still has a fierce beast-level Jade Swan, Bi Ji, and they wouldn't dare to provoke her casually.
“It's good that you have your own plans. Hopefully, we can find a suitable Spirit Beast as soon as possible. We will strive to obtain all three of your spirit rings within three days.”
Upon hearing this, Sword Douluo nodded with satisfaction, agreeing with Bei Chen's idea.
Thus, Bei Chen slowly walked deeper into the Star Dou Great Forest with Sword Douluo.
Spirit Beasts carrying life attributes are rare, so it takes a considerable amount of effort to find them.
...
Time flew by, and a morning passed!
“Oh? Life Sacred Lotus?”
Suddenly, Sword Douluo felt a Spirit Beast's fluctuation nearby, his eyes immediately narrowed, and he turned to look.
He discovered a light green lotus floating on the surface of a clear pond not far away, emitting faint Life Force, appearing extremely mysterious.
“Xiao Chen, the Life Sacred Lotus possesses very powerful healing abilities and is very suitable to be your first spirit ring. Its age seems to be over four hundred years.”
Sword Douluo observed the Life Sacred Lotus not far away and said to Bei Chen with joy.
Upon hearing this, Bei Chen frowned, clearly dissatisfied with this spirit ring. After all, his Spirit was a divine-grade Spirit, and he possessed innate level thirty spirit power.
Absorbing a spirit ring of over four hundred years for the first spirit ring was simply too weak.
He just felt it wasn't grand enough!
At the same time, Bei Chen found that his body, after being transformed by Life Force, could fully withstand a thousand-year-level spirit ring.
A moment later, just as Bei Chen was about to refuse, a sweet voice suddenly sounded in his mind.
“Congratulations to the host for awakening the Eye of Investigation: capable of seeing through the specific information of all things in the world.”
“There's such a good thing!”
Hearing the system's voice, a joyful smile appeared on Bei Chen's face. He hadn't expected to accidentally awaken the Eye of Investigation.
So, with the idea of trying out this function, Bei Chen's gaze drifted towards the Life Sacred Lotus not far away.
“Life Sacred Lotus: Over four hundred years (actual age over three thousand five hundred years): Possesses top-tier healing power, an excellent spirit ring for a life-attribute Spirit.”
Bei Chen was stunned when he saw the specific information of the Life Sacred Lotus!
It was actually over three thousand years old. It seemed this Life Sacred Lotus had a strong hidden ability, even managing to deceive Sword Douluo.
However, Bei Chen had no intention of revealing the true age of this Life Sacred Lotus.
If he told Sword Douluo, it was highly likely that he would not agree to him absorbing this spirit ring.
At worst, he would just go ahead and do it, and then Sword Douluo wouldn't be able to stop him.
He had full confidence that he could absorb this three-thousand-year-old spirit ring.
With his current physique, he could definitely withstand the pressure of this thousand-year spirit ring.
Coupled with the heaven-defying healing power of the divine-grade Spirit: Life Ancient Tree, he could completely repair any damage caused to himself during the spirit ring absorption.
On the other hand, he had the system's presence, so even if he encountered an irreversible predicament, he might be able to easily turn the situation around.
“Okay, I'll absorb this Life Sacred Lotus.”
Then, Bei Chen said obediently to Sword Douluo.
As soon as he finished speaking, Bei Chen stepped forward and pulled out a dagger from his waist.
Although the Life Sacred Lotus was a thousand-year Spirit Beast, it had no attack power, only a very rich Life Force.
Therefore, there would always be a group of Spirit Beasts guarding the Life Sacred Lotus, helping it resist external enemies.
For some reason, the other Spirit Beasts guarding the Life Sacred Lotus seemed to have all left, which conveniently made things easier for Bei Chen.
Additionally, Sword Douluo was still guarding him, so he could completely relax and prepare to absorb this three-thousand-year spirit ring.
“Buzz buzz buzz!”
Bei Chen watched as the Life Sacred Lotus on the water surface erupted with astonishing Life Force, as if foreseeing danger, enveloping its entire body and attracting distant Spirit Beasts to help it.
Regrettably, with Sword Douluo present, even without intentionally releasing his spirit power,
the unique aura of a Titled Douluo prevented the surrounding weaker Spirit Beasts from approaching easily.
Bei Chen used his spirit power to pull the Life Sacred Lotus over.
The next moment, Bei Chen's eyes narrowed, and he plunged the sharp blade in his hand directly into the center of the Life Sacred Lotus.
“Boom!”
Immediately, a vast surge of Life Force continuously emerged, repairing its own injuries. The Life Sacred Lotus gradually showed signs of defeat under Bei Chen's attack.
After Bei Chen's efforts, the emerald green lotus petals of the Life Sacred Lotus turned withered yellow, completely devoid of life.
“Phew! Finally dealt with it!”
Seeing the Life Sacred Lotus die, Bei Chen nodded with satisfaction.
The Life Force of this three-thousand-year-old Life Sacred Lotus was truly formidable!
Without some means, it would have been impossible to kill this Life Sacred Lotus in a short amount of time.
“Swish!”
After its death, wisps of Life Force gradually emerged around the lotus petals of the Life Sacred Lotus.
Specks of spirit power gathered in the air, quickly forming a purple spirit ring, whose contained spirit power fluctuations astonished Bei Chen.
As expected of a three-thousand-year-level spirit ring, it truly lived up to its reputation.
Seeing this, to prevent Sword Douluo from discovering that he had taken the initiative to absorb a thousand-year spirit ring, he quickly sat cross-legged on the ground, closing his eyes tightly.
“Swish!”
The Life Ancient Tree Spirit in his right hand appeared silently, releasing vast Life Force, complementing the thousand-year spirit ring in the air.
Next, under Bei Chen's deliberate guidance, that thousand-year-level purple spirit ring firmly settled upon the Life Ancient Tree.
The astonishing spirit power completely flowed into Bei Chen's body.
“Hmm?”
“Not good!”
Sword Douluo had his back to Bei Chen and paid no attention to Bei Chen's movements, instead, his eyes were vigilantly watching for approaching Spirit Beasts.
Who knew he suddenly felt the aura of a thousand-year spirit ring, and immediately looked back.
He was greatly alarmed to see that Bei Chen had actually taken it upon himself to absorb a three-thousand-year-level spirit ring.
At the same time, he blamed himself for not thoroughly investigating the true age of the Life Sacred Lotus.
But he wanted to stop it immediately, and it seemed it was already too late.
During the process of a Spirit Master absorbing a spirit ring, it cannot be forcibly interrupted. Otherwise, at best, their spirit power will dissipate, and at worst, their spirit power will never be able to advance again.
He dared not interrupt Bei Chen so rashly. He could only wholeheartedly protect Bei Chen, hoping he could safely overcome this tribulation.
“What a powerful spirit ring!”
After clearly feeling the restless spirit power within his body, Bei Chen's heart was stirred with tumultuous waves. He then sank his consciousness into his mind and silently chanted to the system.
