For ordinary people to officially become Genesis Masters, they must first open their meridians and step into the Channel Opening Stage.
This was only the beginning of cultivation, but there were still many commoners who, without resources or Qi Drawing Techniques, couldn’t even reach the Channel Opening Stage.
Only by opening all eight meridians could one establish a Qi Dwelling and enter the Qi Nourishing Stage.
The Qi Nourishing Stage was considered the true beginning of the cultivation path.
During the Channel Opening Stage, one couldn’t yet practice cultivation techniques.
That would come at the Qi Nourishing Stage.
So only Qi Drawing Techniques could be used to attract the Genesis Qi of heaven and earth, slowly opening the eight meridians within the body.
Most people began trying to open their meridians at twelve or thirteen.
Mu Chen and Su Youwei were at the right age now, and their eight meridians had already formed.
Mu Chen didn’t have a Qi Drawing Technique, but he had the Devouring Ancestral Symbol.
This was a cheat for cultivation, governing the power of devouring.
It could swallow and refine anything, allowing the practitioner to achieve twice the results with half the effort.
Though he couldn’t use its full power yet, he needed to open his meridians before he could activate one Ancestral Symbol.
But even a trace of devouring power could easily replace the function of a Qi Drawing Technique.
The Devouring Ancestral Symbol was the most mysterious of the Eight Ancestral Symbols, with the most comprehensive functions.
It had to be the first one activated.
“Devouring Ancestral Symbol, Devouring Power!” In his sea of consciousness, the Devouring Ancestral Symbol flashed with black light.
Mu Chen could only mobilize a very weak devouring force for now.
With his body as the center, a pulling force appeared.
The dense Genesis Qi of heaven and earth converged toward Mu Chen, like a white vortex, continuous and unending.
When the Genesis Qi entered Mu Chen’s body, it surged like waves, washing against the blockage of his first meridian.
The pain was within his tolerance.
He frowned slightly and became more careful, afraid of using too much force and damaging his meridians.
The Life Force of the Life-Death Ancestral Symbol could quickly restore his meridians.
Currently, he could only use a shallow layer of Ancestral Symbol power.
Unless he could activate them, he would only be able to unleash the true power of the Ancestral Symbols around the Nascent Source Stage.
‘What a freak.
Eight Ancestral Symbols.
Could he be the Symbol Ancestor reincarnated?’ The little marten observed from within the Ancestral Stone, very confused.
Such rare Ancestral Symbols, and he had all of them.
If someone said he was the Symbol Ancestor reborn, he wouldn’t hesitate before believing it.
But this also indirectly proved that following Mu Chen wasn’t a mistake.
There would be a chance to recover its body.
Su Youwei, at a distance, also began to cultivate.
Because Mu Chen had attracted the Genesis Qi of heaven and earth without hoarding it all for himself, her rate of drawing Qi into her body was much faster than usual.
Su Youwei’s grandfather watched this scene and didn’t disturb them.
He had no objection to his granddaughter choosing the cultivation path, but he still had his worries.
In the cultivation world, the strong preyed on the weak.
No one knew when disaster would strike.
He was just an old man who couldn’t help much.
All he could do was pray and not cause trouble for Su Youwei.
‘It will take a few days to open the meridian.’ Mu Chen opened his eyes.
The blockage of his first meridian, after this period of washing, had thinned somewhat.
In a few days, he would completely open it.
Su Youwei was still cultivating, so Mu Chen didn’t disturb her.
Su Youwei had excellent talent, and like him, had been tempered by the Ancestral Stone Spirit Liquid.
Her physique could handle the impact of opening her meridians.
“As expected of the Devouring Ancestral Symbol.
The speed at which it absorbs Genesis Qi is truly astonishing.” The little marten’s voice rang out in admiration and envy.
Among the Eight Ancestral Symbols, the Devouring Ancestral Symbol was the most helpful for cultivation.
Most Ancestral Symbols focused on offensive means, like Flame and Lightning, pure violent output.
They weren’t as good for assisting cultivation as the Devouring Ancestral Symbol.
That was why it was called the most mysterious Ancestral Symbol.
If it had the Devouring Ancestral Symbol back then, it would have at least been a peak Samsara Stage expert.
“Right?
You think so too.
With the Devouring Ancestral Symbol in hand, Little Marten, it won’t be long before you willingly call me big brother.” Mu Chen said with a smile.
“Get lost!” The little marten said exasperatedly.
But it really was possible.
Having so many Ancestral Symbols meant Mu Chen was blessed with fortune.
His talent couldn’t be bad either.
Sigh.
It had been the most handsome member of the Celestial Demon Marten Tribe.
And in the near future, it would have to call Mu Chen big brother.
But that would only happen after Mu Chen’s strength surpassed its own.
Mu Chen wasn’t angry.
‘Little Marten, you can’t escape the title of little brother.’ If the little marten left the Ancestral Stone and went far away, then he would have been too optimistic.
“That little girlfriend of yours has pretty good talent too.
You have a good eye.” The little marten said meaningfully.
“Oh?
Little Marten, you can tell that?” Mu Chen said with feigned surprise.
“Of course.
Marten was at least a peak Profound Death Stage expert before.
I still have good judgment.
That girl’s talent is no worse than Marten’s.” The little marten said proudly.
Mu Chen smiled faintly and shook his head.
Su Youwei’s talent was actually better than the little marten’s, but it was just being prideful.
Pfft!
Half a month later, Mu Chen calmly opened his first meridian.
Instantly, his blood and qi surged violently.
The first meridian emitted a devouring force, continuously absorbing the Genesis Qi within his body and then nourishing him in return.
His body, already tempered by the Ancestral Stone Spirit Liquid, was further strengthened.
His flesh, bones, and skin were all reinforced from the inside out.
His body also became noticeably lighter.
“There are so many impurities in my body.” Mu Chen opened his eyes.
A layer of filth covered his skin, giving off a foul odor.
It was the impurities expelled from his body.
Though he didn’t have a severe obsession with cleanliness, Mu Chen quickly rinsed off.
Not only had his physical fitness improved, but his five senses had also become much sharper.
“The first meridian carries the aura of the Devouring Ancestral Symbol.
I have eight meridians and eight Ancestral Symbols.
If I use the power of each Ancestral Symbol to open each meridian, my meridians should become much stronger.” Mu Chen said thoughtfully.
The first meridian emitted the devouring aura of the Devouring Ancestral Symbol.
Even without using the Ancestral Symbol, the speed at which it absorbed Genesis Qi would be much faster than normal meridians.
The direct descendants of the Devouring Master had a certain probability of inheriting the devouring power.
This could only happen when one’s compatibility with the Ancestral Symbol reached perfection.
So Mu Chen suspected that when one’s compatibility with the Ancestral Symbols reached perfection, their meridians, flesh, and bones would all gain the characteristics of the corresponding Ancestral Symbol, which could then be passed down to descendants, allowing them to grasp part of the Ancestral Symbol’s power.
With the first meridian now carrying the aura of the Devouring Ancestral Symbol, Mu Chen didn’t sense any hidden dangers.
On the contrary, it was much stronger than his other meridians.
He could experiment with the other seven Ancestral Symbols on the remaining meridians.
The Ancestral Symbol’s aura mixed with the Genesis Qi of heaven and earth, then washed away the blockages of the eight meridians.
In this process, the meridians would be tainted with the Ancestral Symbol’s aura.
