Licks didn’t notice the change until he carefully sensed his own body.
The moment he did, he froze.
The hatred that had filled his eyes moments earlier was instantly replaced with complete shock.
He now believed most of what Vegeta and Dende had told him.
After glancing at Trunks, he willingly released his ki so the boy could measure it.
A moment later, Trunks’ scouter displayed the results.
“Wow!”
He jumped excitedly as he shouted,
“Uncle Tarble!
Uncle Licks’ Power Level is 5 million!
Uncle Licks, did you hear that?
Your Power Level is five million now!
That’s amazing!
It increased tenfold!
Uncle Licks, did you hear me?”
The more Trunks spoke, the more excited he became.
It wasn’t just because Licks had become dramatically stronger.
He was also thrilled that his father hadn’t lied.
Recovering from the brink of death really could produce an enormous increase in a Saiyan’s strength.
Before the measurement, Trunks’ hands had been trembling with nervousness.
Now, his entire body was shaking with excitement.
During the month they had spent together, he had genuinely grown fond of Licks.
After all, Licks had treated him like a real prince.
What young boy could resist being treated like royalty?
Meanwhile, Licks could barely process what he had heard.
Five million…?
His eyes widened.
He had reached such an incredible Power Level…
Just like that?
So easily?
At that moment, he realized he had misunderstood Vegeta.
Although Vegeta had suddenly attacked him and nearly killed him, it hadn’t actually been an attempt to murder him.
That didn’t mean Licks could simply forgive what had happened.
Saiyans weren’t just battle-loving.
They were also extremely proud and held grudges.
Even so, he understood one thing.
If Vegeta had truly wanted him dead, someone with a Power Level in the hundreds of billions could have erased him effortlessly.
He wouldn’t have survived with mere serious injuries.
He would have died instantly.
Licks opened his mouth, wanting to say something.
But no words came out.
His emotions were in complete turmoil.
Seeing that the hostility in Licks’ eyes had eased considerably, Tarble spoke.
“Licks, get used to your increased strength first.
Then try transforming into a Super Saiyan.”
Licks answered absentmindedly.
“Okay.”
After regaining his composure, he looked at Tarble and Trunks.
Both of them were watching him with hopeful expressions.

In many ways, that was only because of Tarble.
During the past month, he had seen how differently Vegeta treated his younger brother.

The frustration in his heart hadn’t completely disappeared.
Since he had nowhere else to direct it…
He would use it as fuel for his transformation.
With that thought, Licks began gathering all of his energy into his back.
“Aaaaaah!”
Boom!
A tremendous aura burst from his body.
Tarble, Dende, and Mr.
Popo immediately moved several meters away.
Trunks didn’t actually need to.
His own base Power Level was already much higher than Licks’.
Still, after seeing everyone else step back, he quickly followed them.
He watched Licks with anticipation.
Come on, Uncle Licks!
As Licks continued shouting, his aura rose higher and higher.
Violent gusts swept across Kami’s Lookout.
Thunderclouds gathered overhead once again as bolts of lightning flashed across the sky.
Less than five seconds later…
Golden light flickered through Licks’ black hair.
A golden aura began flashing around his body.
Seeing that, Tarble smiled.
A good sign.
Even if he fails this time, he should succeed after a few more attempts.
However…
The very next moment, events unfolded completely differently from what Tarble had expected.
Licks proved him wrong.
In an instant, he successfully transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Tarble couldn’t hide the surprise in his eyes.
But it wasn’t over yet.
Less than two seconds after transforming…
Licks was forcibly knocked back into his normal form.
Thud!
He collapsed to both knees, breathing heavily.
Large drops of sweat poured from his forehead.
Seeing that, Tarble finally relaxed.
Now that’s more like it.
If every Saiyan were a genius, then the Saiyan race wouldn’t have remained relatively weak despite fighting across the universe for so many years.
Turning toward Dende, Tarble asked, “Dende, could you restore Licks’ stamina?”
Still stunned by what he had just witnessed, Dende quickly nodded.
“Oh…
right.
Of course.”
He hurried over to Licks and used his healing abilities to restore his stamina.
Before long, Licks had fully recovered.
After all, Dende had already saved him once.
There was no reason to treat him coldly.
Years of living peacefully on the planet where Tarble had settled had long since worn away most of his aggressive nature.
If Vegeta hadn’t suddenly attacked him earlier, he never would have exploded in anger the way he had.
As the saying goes, people are influenced by those around them.
Much of Licks’ calmer personality came from spending years with Tarble and living in a peaceful environment.
“N-No problem.” Dende still wasn’t quite used to Licks suddenly becoming so polite.
He waved his hands repeatedly.
“You can try again.
I’ll stay nearby and restore your stamina whenever you need it.”
Seeing Dende’s slightly flustered expression, Licks smiled.
“All right.
Thank you very much.”
Dende smiled and gently shook his head.
“Good luck.”
With a quick movement, he returned to stand beside Tarble and the others.
As Licks prepared to make another attempt, Tarble reminded him,
“Licks, don’t rush.
Remember what Vegeta said.
Gather your energy slowly at first, then increase it gradually.
If you’re still feeling angry, use that emotion to help draw out the transformation.”
Licks paused for a moment before nodding firmly.
“Yes, Your Highness.
I understand.”
He knew exactly what anger Tarble was referring to.
In truth, most of that resentment had already faded.
After taking a deep breath and calming himself, Licks began his second attempt.
Following Vegeta’s instructions, he slowly gathered all of his energy into his back.
Boom!
Kami’s Lookout, which had only been peaceful for less than a minute, erupted into another violent storm of energy.
“Aaaaaah!”
His roar echoed across the entire Lookout.
Fortunately, he wasn’t amplifying his voice with ki.
Otherwise, people across much of Earth would have heard it.
Even so, the tremendous surge of energy caused the entire planet to tremble slightly.
