He got confused.

A moment ago, his crush had just said yes.

And now, he wondered what the fuck was going on.Full novel: Dragon Ball: Starting As a High Class Warrior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He looked down.

Under his white boots, tiny people were running.

Above his gloved hands, he had very hairy arms.

No.

Calling them hairy was wrong.

More like, they were covered in fur.

“Why are they so small!?

And since when did I get so hairy!!!” A young human screamed as he found himself in this situation, all of a sudden.

He turned his head.

Two giant apes, standing at buildings’ height, were running wild, beams shooting from their mouths, causing massive explosions on the horizon.

The thing was, those giant apes at building height didn’t look so much big compared to him.

And they were donned in armors.

Realization struck him, and he pinched his own cheek, to see if he could feel any pain.

He felt some pain.

‘Did I transmigrate into the Dragon Ball world… and I am a great ape!’ he thought with a dropped jaw.

Just as he realized this, a sharp jolt of pain struck him.

Bunch of vague memories invaded his consciousness.

He realized his identity in this world.

He was a native from planet Vegeta, named Zukishi.

Weird name, but it fit a Saiyan somehow.

A high-class warrior with an impressive power level of 7000, despite being young, around 16-17.

A gray man with a frog-like face jumped, aimed his hand at Zukishi’s face, and gathered light-like energy around his arm, forming a sharp, razor-glowing red blade.

Knowing what universe he was living in, he knew that, despite being against people with lower power levels, some techniques could allow someone to fight above their level, especially against someone who lowers their guard.

Zukishi, instinctively, opened his mouth.

Without putting effort, as if he was born with it, he released a beam of energy from his mouth, annihilating the alien into dust instantly.

‘Did I just kill someone… well, first, I don’t feel guilty.

He tried to attack me first.

And I’m a victim as well, finding myself in the middle of this planet.’

He turned his head to the two other great apes.

They were Saiyans, obviously.

One of them was a woman, and the other was a man.

He knew them, as they were his mid-class and low-class teammates, each had their uses other than being powerful.

One was a technician, and the other was a good navigator.

The woman also knew how to cook.

Despite being at the bottom of the food chain on planet Vegeta, these two were a massive force in the universe when using their great ape transformation.

‘They don’t look so calm.

On the other hand, I’m having my consciousness despite being a great ape.’ He raised his head, looking at the full three moons in the sky.

He suddenly felt pity for the people of this planet.

By having three moons, they were asking to have Saiyans invading them.

In a world like this, when you know that there is Frieza sending great apes to invade your planet, you wouldn’t want to leave moons around.

‘Fuck.

I forgot about Frieza!

Man, a high-class warrior is nothing against him.’ The great ape man lowered his head, ‘the planet is about to get destroyed, and given my power level, I’m nothing but a meter toy in the hands of the like of Ginyu force, let alone Frieza.

Even in his first form, I can’t survive him.

There are things I need to know.’

He crossed his arms, looking ahead at his teammates.

They were still on a rampage.

As for Zukishi, he didn’t join them.

Despite having a body and instincts of a Saiyan, he was a human in soul and nature.

However, he didn’t stop them.

He knew that stopping them and not invading this planet had consequences.

He wasn’t strong enough to face King Vegeta and his full army of Saiyans, nor was he strong now to defy Frieza.

‘I can’t believe it, man.

She just said yes.

And now, here I am, turning into an ape.

I guess this is just a cruel joke.

When life is too good to be true, there is always a catch.

The catch in my case is turning into a monkey.’ He sighed, flapping his lips.

The planet was dealt with, and the life forms were destroyed.

There were a few survivors here and there, but Zukishi didn’t give a chase.

Soon, the energy from the moons ran out, and his body started shrinking, to that of a normal human in Frieza army armors.

He reached to his left eye, where there was a scouter, and looked at the two approaching him.

One was a woman, taller than average, had long silk hair, pale skin, and a curvy athletic shape.

A goth girl from the Saiyan race with pink armor.

The other was a large man with a height seeming to exceed two meters, a half-bald head, and a large belly, with muscular arms that were as thick as a tree.

The scouter showed numbers.

The woman had a power level around 2000.

And the man had a power level around 2200.

‘The reading may seem wrong, seeing how power level drops with stamina exhaustion.’ He thought to himself as the two smiled at him.

The man was the first one to speak.

“Yo, Zukishi.

What’s the matter with you.

You stayed idle the whole time.

Don’t tell me you got tired from fighting these weaklings.” Said the man, who was named Maro.

The woman narrowed her eyebrows at her teammates, “You kidding?

Zukishi doesn’t even need a great ape transformation to deal with them.

It was just too convenient that he let us fight.”

Zukishi crossed his arms.

In front of him were two Saiyans.

Although he would usually try to socialize and maybe hit on the girl since she was pretty, he was in a quite dire situation.

He needed to act like the leader who was supposed to lead them.

“You think I’m a high-class warrior for nothing?” asked Zukishi, instinctively, circling his chi, releasing pressure from his body, winds followed around him.

The two Saiyans crossed their arms, almost moved by the wind.

“Come on, boss.

You know I joke sometimes,” Maro replied.

“It’s not like you usually take him seriously,” Sala added, crossing her arms to cover her face.

Zukishi smirked and let off his pressure.

“You guys are quite weak.

But as Saiyans, you grow stronger as you fight.

I can’t keep carrying you around,” he said, as if being too proud of his strength.

Honestly, he was quite disgusted.

A race that grew tremendously strong after each battle and injuries, had only this power level.

Well, it was logical.

If they always depended on their great ape form to deal with their enemies, they wouldn’t have a chance to grow that much.

No wonder Vegeta stayed a weakling for his whole life and only grew strong when he lost his tail and went against Frieza’s army.

“We know, we know.” The girl got around him and smacked him in the back, pushing him, “Why don’t you rest in your pod, while we take care of the rest?”

She may be acting quite aggressive.

But in the Saiyan language, that was called ‘Acting cute.’

As staying in his pod, thinking clearly about what’s going on, and not dealing with the leftover of the genocide, was very convenient, he shrugged and left.

“Make it quick,” he said as he floated in the air.

He didn’t know how to fly, but it seemed that his body knew how to.

“What’s the matter with Zukishi.

He seems to be in a bad mood,” Sala turned to Maro.

“Maybe because King Vegeta is putting too much pressure on him.

I think it’s a control thing between the high-class and elite class warrior.”

“I never liked to bother myself with the politics.” She replied, while pointing toward the scouter, “Anyways, let’s loot this planet before the brokers come.”

“Right.

Let’s loot it.” Said Maro.

As for Zukishi, he floated slowly.

One of the dreams of a man is being able to fly freely in the sky.

Even though he was experiencing it firsthand with his real body, the fact that he wasn’t different from a mere fly in a swamp of crocodiles took that joy.

Not to mention that his whole race was meant to get erased, and he would be dead, like a canon fodder.

Following his instinctual memory, he found himself in the location of the flying pods and rested near one of them, his stomach aching.

The pain didn’t come from any injury.

But because he was simply too nervous now.

When he made sure that he was alone, he started panting.

His chest raising and falling, drops of sweat covering his face.

He reached his scouter and turned it off, cursing.

“Fuck!” he yelled.

“Lost everything I had, just to become a dead man walking.” He snarled, gritting his teeth.

Despite being a Saiyan, he was simply a human in heart, and the fact that he was human, he could barely control his emotions.

Sadness, rage, and haplessness took over him.

But he tried his best to calm himself.

What’s lost was lost.

Previous life was thrown out of the window.

What mattered now was what he had and what he could gain.

What he could gain was power.

What he had was his life.

And to preserve that, he needed power.
