After a week or so of sleeping in the pod spaceship, Zukishi woke up from his slumber.

He was quite thankful that they had sleeping gas in the space pod, otherwise, he didn’t know how he would have been able to handle the situation mentally.

He was bored to tears.Full novel: Dragon Ball: Starting As a High Class Warrior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But at the same time, he had time to think about what to do and how to move on.

First thing first, he needed to find Bardock.

He needed to learn about his kids’ ages to know how long he had to survive.

If there wasn’t much time and he didn’t gain enough power, he would simply leave planet Vegeta.

If there was time, then, he would obviously become the master of his fate.

And he would definitely take Vegeta — the king — down.

Landing on planet Vegeta, at some port, he found himself surrounded by humanoid creatures.

They were some intelligent alien races that had lost their planets and worked for the Saiyans.

“How did your mission go, Mister Zukishi?” asked the alien in red skin.

He didn’t seem to be wary of him.

Zukishi found it quite logical.

His predecessor wasn’t the typical Saiyan asshole.

Just a chill guy doing missions and loving to joke around.

The impression he had from the anime that Saiyans are power-hungry creatures who focus on increasing their power was quite wrong.

They, like humans, had different personalities, and their drives to get stronger differ.

In fact, some simply depend on their tails to face stronger opponents.

Of course, there were some warriors, but they were rare.

The others were simply bullies who liked to turn into apes when they found a slightly stronger opponent.

“It went well,” replied Zukishi.

“What happened while I was gone?”

“Nothing much.

There are rumors that King Cold is going to retire, and he would pass his empire to his son, Frieza.” Said the alien.

Zukishi rubbed his chin.

“Hmm… Not Cooler?

He’s older and stronger.”

“Well, Frieza is Cold’s favorite.

Besides, Cooler has his own section to rule.” Said the alien, before gesturing for him to walk alone.

They reached in front of a large computer screen.

The alien filled in the details of the mission, took a portion of the treasures they looted, and said, “the money has been transferred to your account now.”

“Assuming the rumors, King Vegeta wouldn’t have time to call for me now?” he asked.

“He’s currently in a meeting with King Cold.

He’ll be back in time, but… Zukishi…” the alien hesitated for a second.

“Yes?

Say what you have in mind.

I won’t bite,” said Zukishi.

“Be careful,” said the alien, whispering.

“Many elite warriors who had been raising in power were vanishing.

Of course, that doesn’t include the court nobles.

Don’t get your power level too high, or you may attract unnecessary attention.”

Zukishi laughed slightly and patted him on the shoulder.

“Don’t worry about it.

Anyways, I have something to ask you.

Did Bardock return?”

“Bardock?

He and his squad came back a few days ago.” He said.

“Is there something you need from him?”

“Just talk about technical stuff.

He’s a scientist, so I may commission him.”

“Come on, Zukishi.

I’m a brighter scientist, and Bardock is a warrior through and through.

He wouldn’t want to talk to you about it.”

“I’ll see myself,” Zukishi laughed.

Meeting Bardock would be the key to learning many things.

“See you later…”

“Dordo,” said the alien.

“Forgot my name again, man!”

“Yes, Dordo.” Replied Zukishi, before turning to the other two Saiyans.

He walked to them, and he said in his usual tone, “I’ll contact you later when there is a mission.”

“Why wait until there is a mission.

Let’s go, get drunk and get wasted,” said Sala, seeming over all excited.

“I’d love to, but I’ll be busy.

Maro, why don’t you meet me at my residence by tomorrow.

I have something to discuss with you,” said Zukishi.

He may have found a way, a deliberate practice, to raise his power level.

But he needed to test the water first.

“Alright, I see you later, Zuki.” Maro smiled.

“For now, I’m going to see my wife.

It had been a long time.”

Sala furrowed her eyebrows at him, as if shooting him daggers.

“And you’ll be alone, like a miserable single.

Humph.”

Zukishi sighed.

“See you guys later.

I’ll… make an audience with the king.” He made an excuse to get away.

Floating slightly in the sky, he flew in some direction.

He knew where the Saiyan squads usually gathered.

Usually in restaurants where they drank and ate non-stop.

That’s how they lived.

Conquer planets, eat, drink, repeat.

He met a few squads and asked about Bardock.

“Why asking about a low-class Saiyan, did he offend you or something?” asked a middle-class one.

“No.

Just need his opinion on something,” said Zukishi, now standing in a large hall, with many people eating and drinking.

If one didn’t know better, they may think that there was some sort of wedding.

Zukishi turned and left the building, and as he was about to walk away, he heard someone calling him.

“I’ve heard you were looking for me?” said a voice.

“What business do you have?”

Turning, he saw a man who looked like a real-life version of Goku, except he had an angrier expression and a deeper voice.

The man in front of him was a low-class warrior.

Yet, despite that, he felt that he wouldn’t beat him in a fight easily.

“I’ve heard that you are a bright scientist.

And I need someone with a brain like yours.”

“I’m more of a warrior, and I don’t plan on changing my team.”

“Don’t worry.

I’m here to ask about technical stuff, and maybe, I’d commission you.”

“What do you have in mind?”

“The gravity regulators in the ship.

Let’s say that I want to hold a prisoner, but he’s from a planet with high gravity.

How do I increase the gravity in the ship…”

“That’s quite easy, in fact.

But it’s not applicable in a small pod,” Bardock rubbed his chin.

“You need a large ship, a separate energy source for a certain room, and anti-gravity walls to not let the ship crush on itself… it needs a lot of working.

How much gravity do you have in mind.”

“100 times.

Better if it were gradual.”

Bardock opened his eyes widely and looked at Zukishi as if he were crazy.

“100 times.

Are you crazy.

Is there someone living on a planet like that.” Said Bardock.

For reference, gravity on planet Vegeta is 10 times that of Earth.

Zukishi forgot that, and rubbed the back of his head.

“If you can do it, I’ll commission you to design me a room like that.

100 is the upper limit.” He said.

“But it should be modified gradually.”

Training in such a room with massive gravity was one of the ways he thought about increasing his power level.

Without Senzu Beans, it may take him years and more to reach the upper limit.

But even training at 10 times planet Vegeta gravity would yield good results.

That’s just one of the ways he thought about using to increase his power.

“You surely have weird ways to spend your money,” Bardock said.

“Well, I’m a single guy.” Zukishi smiled as he found his chance.

“Are you single?”

“No.

I’m married, and I’m waiting for my second child,” said Bardock, his voice betraying a hint of pride.

“Good for you.” Said Zukishi.

“So, what do you say, can you do it or not?”

“I’ll do it, but be ready to pay.

The expenses, plus my salary.

It should take around a week or two.” Said Bardock.

“Don’t worry.

As a high-class warrior, my payment is quite massive,” said Zukishi.

“I’ll supply you with enough money to buy a large ship and modify it.

Just send me the bill and the contract later.”

Since conquering planets as a kid was a thing, and young Saiyans were prohibited from drinking — which was worth gold — he accumulated a huge amount of money.

Bardock nodded.

“I’ll contact you later.

What’s your scouter ID?” he reached his scouter and moved his hand across it.

“17556DFS.” Said Zukishi.

In a few seconds, his scouter rang.

“I’ve added you to my contacts.

I’ll reach you later to discuss the details.

For now, I’m busy,” Bardock said, beforeturning inside the building and joining the banquet.

In front of the screen, the ID and the name of Bardock appeared.

He could call him any time and find his location and more info if he desired.

After making the deal, Zukishi headed to his own house.

A one-story building with life necessities.

5 fridges and a bed, with a parking spot that had space for an average-sized spaceship.

‘I may need to increase its size if I’m going to buy a large spaceship.’

“Fuck it!

I don’t have anything to do now.

No wonder drinks here are expensive!” he complained.

No wonder his new race loved bullying weaker races.

They had nothing better to do – literally.

And so, he got into his house.

Living alone wasn’t bad, as no one would bother him.

Zukishi could understand why his predecessor wasn’t a quick-to-feel-offended person.

He appreciated any human interaction.

Not really human interaction.

More likely, a sapiens.

‘If I call Sala, would she come?

No… my priority is to get stronger.

I need to prepare… first.

Let me familiarize myself with flight, Ki beams, and basic martial arts.’

Despite just arriving at his home planet from conquering another nation, he had been sleeping for a week, so he was well-rested.

He began training on his own, familiarizing himself with his new body, shooting random beams around.

He even blew up a mountain easily.

Then, came familiarizing himself with flight.

After a half day, Bardock contacted him with a contract and more.

Zukishi paid a good price to acquire a new spaceship for himself, which was quite large to host a team, and then handed it to Bardock to let him work his magic on it.

After that, Maro went to him.

“So, you said you had something to do with me?

What could it be, boss?” Maro asked.

“Training.” Said Zukishi with a smile.

Maro narrowed his eyebrows.

“You kidding, boss.

You are three times stronger than me.

How could I possibly be any help?”

“First, bring your space pod.

We are going to a planet where the full moon is there.” He said.

“You’ll understand my idea once we are there.”
