Stepping out of the healing tub, naked, Zukishi looked at his hands, barely believing that a week had passed.
It felt as if it were a blink, and he didn’t have dreams or nightmares during that time — which he appreciated very much.
‘I guess there is a reason why this race doesn’t abuse the Zenkai boost trick.
There is also the risk of permanent injury and disability.’ He thought as a doctor approached him with a smile.
The doctor looked at him with a scouter and scanned him.
“I must say, despite getting here in a sorry state.
You’re leaving with a much better one.” He approved.
Zukishi couldn’t help himself.
A smirk formed on his face.
He even forgot he was naked when he wondered how much his power level had climbed.
“So, how much is it?” he asked.
“15,000.
It went up by more than double.
You’ve surpassed the upper rank of elite warriors.
Only Prince Vegeta has the potential to surpass you.” The doctor replied.
“Though, it would be a different story if he doesn’t fight against stronger opponents.”
On planet Vegeta, the prince was known to be born with the highest recorded talent and a very high power level that surpassed most of the high-class warriors.
He was hailed as a prodigy who would surpass the King, the strongest warrior on the planet — Well, previously the strongest warrior.
‘But even if I’m 15,000 now, if some of those with tens of thousands of power level warriors worked together, I’ll be in a real shit.
I still need more power.’ He thought to himself, ‘Now, not the time to challenge the royal family.’
To be fair, although his goal was to ensure his safety and survive Frieza, he also had a desire to overthrow King Vegeta.
That deep desire came from his predecessor memories.
Both Zukishi’s parents were high-class and upper-middle-class warriors.
Yet, they were sent on a dangerous mission to a planet full of strong warriors and had a high level of technologies, causing them to die.
Zukishi, as a warrior, would simply suppress his feelings and move on.
That’s what was expected of him by society.
‘Though, they deserve it.
I mean, I have no sympathy for someone who goes to other planets, kills their people, and sells their homes.’ He thought, ‘But I find it intriguing to overthrow that asshole.
He’ll definitely send me on dangerous missions, especially when my power level has raised.
Even though I’m a new person, I hate people who threaten my safety.
‘But I can’t challenge him now as he has an army near my strength.
Can’t lower my power level like Goku, but I know a way.’ Zukishi thought as he shrugged.
‘Though, the news of my power increasing should be spread soon; he may believe it’s just rumors.
Guys with huge egos tend to believe what they want to believe.’
“What are you musing about?
You should go out and celebrate?” The doctor said when Zukishi went awfully silent.
Zukishi smiled, “Just have some business.
I’ll leave.” Then he began walking.
A few low-class Saiyan nurses stopped and looked at him, their cheeks turning almost red.
“Wait!
Your clothes!” the doctor urged.
Zukishi stopped, feeling a slight embarrassment.
“Sure,” he said nonchalantly, suppressing his emotions from appearing on his face.
-x-X-x-
Stepping out of the hospital, he found himself in a Saiyan large city, walking down the street.
The sky was quite full with space pods, entering and leaving.
‘Too many ships.
Did the king get back from meeting with Cold?’ he thought.
‘Whenever a meeting happens between the lizards and the monkeys, the latter set to conquer planets, and the lizards send supplies and technologies to this planet.’ He thought, before shrugging.
“I told you he’s fine, see.
He’s walking!” echoed Maro’s voice, pointing at Zukishi.
Looking at him, he found his crew standing not so far from the hospital gates.
“I thought I lost him for a second!
Do you know how hard it is to find a strong captain nowadays!” Sala yelled at Maro.
Zukishi laughed as he approached, “What’s the matter.
Worried about me?”
Sala gritted her teeth, “Of course, I was!
What were you thinking of!
Taking on someone with three times your power level!”
He patted her on the shoulder and sighed, “This is better.
Acting like the real you instead of trying to act tough…”
She blushed, pushed his arm, and said, “Bardock came to find you, but since you were in the hospital, he delivered the ship to your backyard and took the payment as per contract.
You better check the bank and the procedures.”
As they walked across the street, they met with other Saiyans.
Most were focused on Zukishi.
“Hey!
Heard you got beaten so badly.”
“Man, it must be the first time in your life to get your ass kicked.”
“How does defeat taste.”
It was typical for warriors to tease each other on the street, like hitting a gym-bro on the shoulder.
Zukishi sneered, “Feels pretty awesome to be honest.
Since when was it the last time you got a real beating.”
The fellow Saiyans on the street reached for their scouters…
“It’s!
Over 15,000.”
One commented.
Others reached for their scouters to measure his power level.
“What!
You gotta be kidding.”
“15,000!
That must be a hell of a fight to get such a boost!”
“How the hell did he get such a boost!”
They looked at him as if he had discovered fire.
‘Maybe if you simply cut your tails and abandon using the Great Ape form whenever you face the slightest hardship, you’ll increase your power level dramatically as well.’ He thought to himself.
‘There is high gravity, high-intensity training.
But I’ll keep that knowledge to myself.
Better leave the dumb dumber.
Not to mention, if they started raising their power quickly, they’ll attract Frieza’s attention.
We are still far away from 100 million plus power level.’
The laughs got less and less.
Zukishi continued walking, and all of a sudden, a bunch of cute Saiyan girls approached him, while their scouters showed a number.
One of them, short with spiky hair, approached him and elbowed his ribcage.
“What do you say, pretty boy.
I’ve got some drinks up my place.
Let’s get there and get to know each other,” she said with a soft voice yet quite an aggressive tone.
A tall Saiyan girl with Ms.
Olympia physique approached and said, “If you want to have little Saiyan offspring, that’s it.
Leave her, and let’s make someone strong together.”
He blinked twice, not knowing if to cringe or feel flattered.
It was too forward that he felt like running.
More girls were approaching him in quite an aggressive way.
‘So, this is what it’s like to be a billionaire on this planet, except strength is money.
Maybe, Saiyans aren’t bad people and they are worth saving.’
He thought as a few more girls approached, quite aggressively as well, with strange pick-up lines.
He got swarmed out of nowhere.
And not all of them were aggressive.
Some were standing at the back, looking at him with submissive looks and blush on their faces.
Sala stood between him and the others, crouching slowly, charging her Ki up.
“You are annoying him!
Find a man somewhere else!”
Maro crossed his arms and sighed, tears welling up.
He said, “When I was young, I dreamed of this moment.
Having a high power level and getting swarmed by them!
Hey, next time, it’s my turn to get beat up!”
Zukishi smiled, flattered.
Although he should focus on his strength, he was a human.
And moments like this made life feel good.
“I must apologize, my young ladies.
For now, I’ve priorities with the royal forces.
Once my schedule clears up, we’ll have our time together.” He said.
“Humph… Make it quick.” A Saiyan girl who held Sala from the neck and was about to punch her said as she took her fist back.
Sala harrumphed.
Zukishi blinked, ‘since when a fight started?’
The other girls gave Zukishi sexy aggressive looks before turning away.
“Fucking whores, thinking they can take someone else’s prey!” Sala cursed, clapping her hands from dust.
Zukishi smiled slightly at her.
He patted her on the shoulder and said, “Thanks… I wouldn’t have known how to handle them without you.”
She looked up with quite submissive eyes, cheeks turning red.
She forgot to put her tough mask and swept her hair strand back.
“Anything you need.”
“For now, if you allow me; I have to see the goods.” He said.
“Oh, you mean the large spaceship.
Surely, it’s better than having small ships.
Maro and I verified it.
It works very well, and it’s way faster than the standard pod.” She said.
Maro nodded.
After exchanging a few words, Zukishi departed from them and flew in the sky to his house.
What he noticed was that not only his power level doubled, but so did his speed.
In a matter of minutes, he was at his house, where he found a large spaceship, larger than his house, parked outside.
He reached for his scouter to look for notifications.
Bardock had taken his commission fees from the bank directly using their contract, and there was a notification that a year’s worth of planet-invading money was taken out of his account.
“Remind me to take all of my money out…” he muttered, stopping mid-sentence, knowing that anything he said could be heard by those who controlled the scouter’s communication network.
He entered the spaceship and was quite satisfied with it.
It had a navigation room, three sleeping rooms, and a large room that seemed to be a prison-like.
He went to the control unit, navigating through the computer.
Fair enough, there was a gravity control option, and there was even an option for voice commands.
‘I have a gravity chamber…’ his eyes lit up as he turned into a room in the corner.
He walked toward it, pushing the door open.
