With a whopping 150 million zeni in hand, Karan took Android 18 on a shopping spree through downtown West City.
They spent the entire day eating, drinking, having fun, and buying all kinds of things.
It wasn’t until late at night that the two finally returned to the luxurious villa they had just purchased.
They had enjoyed themselves so much that they had opened several bottles of expensive wine.
Android 18 clearly wasn’t a strong drinker.
Her beautiful cheeks were flushed with a charming rosy color, and even Karan himself felt slightly tipsy.
“This feels amazing.”
Karan collapsed onto the soft couch and stretched comfortably.
The life of the rich really was wonderful.
Back in his previous life, he could never have imagined living like this.
Leaning against the doorway, Android 18 looked at him through hazy eyes.
“Who’s taking a shower first?”
“Why don’t we go together?” Karan asked with a mischievous grin.
If not for the alcohol, he probably wouldn’t have dared to be so bold.
“Pervert.”
Android 18 rolled her eyes at him and headed toward the bathroom.
Soon, the sound of running water echoed through the villa.
Hearing it, Karan felt restless.
Half an hour later, the bathroom door opened.
Android 18 emerged wrapped in a white bath towel, water droplets still clinging to her blonde hair.
“What are you staring at?
You’re drooling.”
She huffed and sat down on the sofa while drying her hair.
“Hurry up and wash.”
Without another word, Karan rushed into the bathroom.
He spent more than half an hour under cold water.
Unfortunately, it did little to calm him down.
“I must’ve had too much to drink.”
Muttering to himself, Karan dried off and walked back out.
In the living room, Android 18 was lying on the couch and watching a mindless soap opera.
Karan couldn’t help feeling amused.
Who would have thought that the cold and deadly Android 18 enjoyed this sort of thing?
It seemed women were the same everywhere.
Hearing him come out, Android 18 turned around.
“Done already?
I’ll get some fruit.
Maybe it’ll help you sober up.”
“Sure.”
Karan nodded.
“Ding!
Choice mission triggered!”
“Option One: Win over Android 18.
Reward: Infinite Energy.”
“Option Two: Endure until morning.
Reward: Death Beam and the title of ‘Wimp.'”
Karan’s eye twitched.
“Damn it, System.
You’re doing this on purpose.”
Previously, there had always been three choices.
Now there were only two.
It was obvious which answer the System wanted.
Still, after spending so much time together, Karan knew that Android 18 had already accepted him.
Tonight, with just the two of them alone in the villa, there was no need to continue pretending otherwise.
“I choose option one.”
He made his decision immediately.
A few minutes later, Android 18 returned with a plate of grapes.
The moment their eyes met, both of them froze.
Thump.
Thump.
In the quiet villa, the sound of their heartbeats seemed unusually loud.
Karan slowly walked toward her.
“K-Karan…”
Android 18’s voice trembled slightly.
“Let’s eat some fruit first.”
“We can do that later.”
Karan smiled and gently embraced her.
The distance between them had finally disappeared.
At ten o’clock the next morning, the System’s voice sounded again.
“Ding!
Congratulations to the host for completing the mission.
Reward issued: Infinite Energy!”
Only then did Karan slowly open his eyes.
“Pulling an all-nighter really is exhausting.”
He stretched and sighed.
“If you’re awake, hurry up and come eat breakfast!”
Android 18’s cheerful voice came from downstairs.
After putting on his clothes, Karan headed to the dining room.
The moment he arrived, his eyes lit up.
The coldness in her eyes had softened considerably, replaced by a gentle and mature charm.
Days passed one after another.
Before they knew it, an entire month had gone by.
During that time, Karan visited Capsule Corporation and paid for Bulma and Dr.
Brief to build an advanced gravity chamber.
The father and daughter agreed immediately.
After all, Karan had saved Earth twice by defeating Cell and Bojack.
Building a gravity chamber for humanity’s savior was hardly a difficult task.
Although Vegeta still looked unhappy whenever he saw Karan, there was nothing he could do besides glare at him.
Thanks to the gravity chamber, Karan devoted himself to training for an entire month.
His battle power rose dramatically once again.
Eventually, the day arrived when Bulma gathered everyone together for her annual flower-viewing party.
Karan and Android 18 had also received invitations.
However, Karan stayed home and continued his training.
This was the Dragon Ball world.
Monsters appeared one after another, and no amount of strength was ever enough.
Goku had it even worse.
Chi-Chi had dragged him away to help enroll Gohan in cram school, leaving him unable to attend the party as well.
While everyone was eating, drinking, and enjoying themselves at the gathering, the sky suddenly darkened.
Rumble!
A gigantic disc-shaped spaceship descended from the heavens.
Powerful winds blew tables and chairs all over the place.
“An alien spaceship?”
Krillin, Gohan, and the others were startled, their expressions instantly becoming serious.
Only a month of peace had passed.
