Alex narrowed his eyes, sizing Vegeta up and down with an icy, piercing gaze.

Instantly, Vegeta was furious.

He felt deeply insulted; to be looked at like that was a blatant display of contempt, and to a Saiyan Prince, contempt was an unforgivable offense.Full novel: Dragon Ball Super: The Lazy Master Gets Double Rewards — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Get out of my sight!” Vegeta roared.

He clenched his fists, his ki erupting violently.

Dark, scorched-looking clouds immediately gathered in the sky above, turning the bright afternoon into a murky, chaotic twilight.

Gale-force winds whipped up from all directions, spiraling violently toward the Saiyan.

Whoosh!

A blinding flash of golden light exploded outward.

When it cleared, Vegeta stood there, his hair glowing a brilliant, spiked gold, with violent arcs of blue electricity crackling all over his body.

Alex raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

“Oh?

Jumping straight to Super Saiyan 2 before we even trade blows?”

He knew Vegeta’s fighting style perfectly well: the prince always wanted to crush his enemies as fast as possible to secure a cool, dominating victory.

Though, historically speaking, whenever Vegeta tried that in a major battle, he almost never succeeded.

He usually just ended up getting mercilessly beaten down.

Vegeta scoffed.

“I’m ending this quickly!”

Initially, he hadn’t wanted to transform at all.

But his instincts screamed that Alex was no ordinary opponent.

If the man truly was a god, Vegeta knew his base form likely wouldn’t cut it.

Refusing to risk humiliation or looking like a fool, he went straight to Super Saiyan 2 to obliterate Alex in a single strike.

“You actually know about Super Saiyan 2?” Vegeta asked, genuinely surprised.

He had fully expected Alex to be completely overwhelmed by the transformation and the astronomical spike in his power level.

Instead, the man didn’t even look mildly impressed.

It felt like a slap in the face, pouring even more fuel on the roaring fire of Vegeta’s rage.

Just as he prepared to lunge, Bulma screamed from the balcony below.

“Vegeta!

What on earth are you doing?!”

But the Saiyan Prince was already blind with anger.

Completely ignoring his wife with a cold scoff, he let out a furious roar and rocketed straight at Alex.

“To hell with your boring godhood!

Get down here!”

Watching Vegeta charge at him, Alex didn’t feel a shred of fear.

He wasn’t just relying on his Earthling ‘Juggernaut Physique’ anymore; he now possessed the ‘Super Saiyan God’ transformation.

Sure, his Juggernaut state probably couldn’t match a Super Saiyan 2.

But he had no intention of using it anyway.

This was the perfect opportunity to test out Super Saiyan God.

He was dying to know exactly how much of a power boost it would give him, or what kind of entirely new dimension of strength he was about to enter.

“Super Saiyan?” Alex smiled.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, but I happen to be one too!”

Hearing that mid-charge, Vegeta almost laughed out loud.

Did this guy really think the Prince of all Saiyans wouldn’t be able to recognize another Saiyan?!

It was absolutely ridiculous.

Alex clenched his fists tight and roared, “Haaaa!”

In an instant, the atmosphere violently destabilized.

Howling gale-force winds shredded the dark storm clouds Vegeta had conjured, wiping the sky completely clean.

CRACK!

A deafening clap of thunder shook the heavens.

A massive flash of lightning tore through the sky, and the entire earth groaned and trembled under the sheer weight of the pressure.

BOOM!

Another shockwave rippled out from the deepest reaches of the cosmos.

It felt as if the sky itself was shattering, splitting open in brilliant fissures of light.

Then, all that chaotic energy converged.

Strands of vibrant crimson light began to radiate from Alex’s body.

A split second later, a colossal pillar of golden-red fire crashed down from the heavens, completely enveloping him in a column of divine light.

It looked like a beacon connecting the earth to the realm of the gods.

Vegeta slammed on the brakes mid-air, his eyes wide with absolute horror.

‘What is this?!’

He had never seen a transformation like this in his life.

The sheer scale of the phenomenon was unfathomable.

It wasn’t just Vegeta.

Across the globe, martial artists froze in their tracks, staring up at the violently shifting sky.

Krillin, Android 18, Master Roshi, Yamcha, Gohan, Goten, Trunks…

every single one of them felt the shift.

“That’s coming from Bulma’s place!

What the hell is going on over there?!” Without missing a beat, they all took to the sky, rocketing toward West City.

Meanwhile, the sky directly above Alex had completely vanished, replaced by a breathtaking, crystal-clear projection of the infinite cosmos.

Then, the seasons themselves began to rapidly cycle.

Warm spring sunlight gave way to torrential summer rain, which shifted into a crisp autumn breeze, followed by drifting winter snow.

A full year’s worth of weather cycled in the span of a single minute.

The crimson light engulfing Alex grew deeper and more intense, before exploding outward in a massive shockwave of divine energy.

The people on Earth weren’t the only ones watching.

In the Other World, King Kai was utterly speechless.

Even further away, in the Sacred World of the Kai, Old Kai actually dropped his swimsuit magazine.

He clasped his hands behind his back, staring intensely in the direction of Earth, his voice trembling with disbelief.

“A God!

A true God has just been born on Earth!”

Standing beside him, Shin, the Supreme Kai, recognized the divine signature.

“Yes, Ancestor,” he said respectfully.

But…

what on earth is this transformation?

When we became gods, it certainly didn’t look anything like this.”

Just as Shin spoke, an incredibly ethereal, beautiful melody began to resonate directly out of the cosmic projection above Earth, echoing across the stars.

Old Kai’s sunken eyes practically bugged out of his skull.

He stood completely paralyzed, muttering, “This is…

the Cosmic Gospel!”

Shin tilted his head, completely lost.

“The Cosmic Gospel?

What is that?”

Whack!

Old Kai casually reached over and smacked Shin over the head.

“This is why I tell you to actually read the sacred texts!

But no, you just spend all day reading those trashy women’s magazines!”

Shin rubbed his head, his mouth twitching in sheer grievance.

‘Me?!

Since when do I read those?!

That’s literally all you do!’ As he complained internally, he couldn’t help but glance down at the magazine Old Kai had just dropped on the grass.

It was open to a centerfold of a model in a bikini.

Whack!

Old Kai hit him again.

“Stop looking at that!” He cleared his throat, his expression turning deathly serious.

“The Cosmic Gospel represents the ultimate blessing of the universe itself.

The entire cosmos is cheering for his ascension.”

“This phenomenon hasn’t occurred in tens of thousands of years.

Its appearance signifies the birth of a supreme, peerless entity.

Alex ascending to godhood has literally triggered the universe to sing his praises.

This man’s future is absolutely limitless!”

Old Kai let out a heavy sigh, his expression darkening.

“I just don’t know if his ascension is a blessing or a curse for us.”

“I don’t think he’s a bad person,” Shin offered carefully.

Old Kai glared at him.

“Time will tell.

If he turns out to be evil, Goku and the others won’t stand a chance against him.

However…

since Alex is officially a God now, if he starts mindlessly destroying things, it won’t be up to Goku to stop him anyway.”

Shin nodded slowly, fully understanding the implication.

If things got out of hand, the God of Destruction would step in.
