After gently wiping away the tears on Song Wanning’s face, Aunt Li chatted with her for a while before asking her to come home with her to collect some necessities.

When Aunt Li got home, she originally planned to give Song Wanning a set of bedding. But after thinking about how Wanning had left the family with nothing, and that the old house was completely empty, she also packed some grain for her. Seeing how thin she was, she even added more than a dozen eggs.

She had her two sons carry everything over to the old house for Song Wanning.Full novel: Drugged and Swapped? Fine! I’ll Empty the Family Fortune and Follow the Army — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The two boys, Wang Ziqi and Wang Ziwen, were fraternal twins of the same age. After learning about Song Wanning’s situation, both of them felt deeply sympathetic toward her. Since they could help, they were more than willing to do so.

Seeing Aunt Li bring over so many things, Song Wanning was genuinely touched. She had known that Aunt Li, the village chief, and their family were kind-hearted, but she never expected them to treat her so well.

When she noticed the eggs among the food, she felt embarrassed and tried to refuse them, but in the end, she couldn’t persuade Aunt Li otherwise.

After accepting the eggs and seeing Aunt Li’s family leave, Song Wanning returned inside and began tidying up.

She spread the bedding neatly on the bed and temporarily stored the grain in the kitchen.

The kitchen hadn’t been used for a long time. It was covered in a thick layer of dust. She found a bucket and a rag and began cleaning.

Two hours later, she had cleaned nearly every corner of the house inside and out. The place looked much cleaner.

Just then, someone knocked on the door.

She tossed the rag into the bucket, wiped her wet hands on her clothes, and walked over to open it.

It was Aunt Li.

She was holding a steaming bowl of noodles and handed it over.

“Wanning, your kitchen still isn’t usable yet, so I cooked you a bowl of noodles to fill your stomach first. As for firewood, I’ll have Ziqi gather some for you later.”

After working so long, Song Wanning was indeed starving.

She accepted the bowl.

“Thank you, Aunt Li. Would you like to come in and sit for a while?”

Aunt Li glanced inside and saw how spotless the place had become. She shook her head.

“No, I won’t go in. Eat well and get some rest afterward. I’ll head back now.”

Song Wanning nodded.

After Aunt Li left, Song Wanning carried the noodles to the table inside and quickly finished the entire bowl. She washed the bowl clean before returning to bed for a nap.

When she woke again, it was already seven o’clock in the evening.

Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she realized she hadn’t slept very well. She had spent the entire time dreaming about her previous life.

She got up and washed her face.

Just as she finished, another knock sounded at the door.

Opening it, she found Wang Ziqi standing outside.

He was holding a bowl of stir-fried tomatoes and eggs along with a steamed bun.

“Wanning… my mom asked me to bring these over.”

His face was bright red as he handed her the food.

The moment he finished speaking, he turned to leave.

Song Wanning immediately called after him.

“Brother Ziqi, when you go back, could you tell Aunt Li that she doesn’t need to bring me food tomorrow? I’ll cook for myself.”

“Oh… alright.”

After replying awkwardly, Wang Ziqi hurried off.

Only after watching him disappear did Song Wanning carry the meal back inside.

After eating a simple dinner, she washed the dishes and lay back down on the bed.

She took an alarm clock out of her space, set the time, then closed her eyes to rest.

This time she quickly fell asleep.

When she woke again, it was the alarm clock that roused her.

Rubbing her face, she sat up, changed into a fresh set of clothes, and quietly slipped outside under the cover of moonlight.

It was around one o’clock in the morning.

The entire village was silent, with only Song Wanning’s footsteps echoing through the darkness.

She quietly returned to the Song family home.

The front door had been bolted from the inside, but that posed no problem for her. Using her space, she easily entered the house.

She started with the kitchen, storing all the grain, pots, bowls, pans, and anything useful into her space.

Once the kitchen had been emptied, she went into Song Miaomiao’s room.

Song Miaomiao was sleeping soundly, completely unaware that someone else had entered.

Song Wanning packed away everything useful in the room, including all the clothes inside the wardrobe.

Finally, she entered Liu Cuihua and Song Dashan’s room.

Carefully, she stored everything in the room into her space.

When she reached the wardrobe, worried that moving things around would wake the couple, she simply stored the entire wardrobe directly into her space.

Inside her space, she searched through its contents.

At the very back of the wardrobe, she discovered a small red wooden box.

Opening it, she found a pair of gold bracelets and a golden longevity lock.

Song Wanning was stunned.

Liu Cuihua actually possessed valuables like these.

Where had they come from?

The items were all very small, clearly meant for a baby.

Forget it. I’ll just keep them in my space for now.

She also found one hundred and fifty yuan, along with a small stack of grain coupons and meat coupons inside the box.

Seeing all those valuables, Song Wanning happily transferred everything into the bamboo house inside her space.

After taking everything, she returned the empty wardrobe to its original place.

Looking at the now completely bare room, she couldn’t help smiling with satisfaction.

After leaving the room, she remembered the two chickens in the courtyard.

She certainly wasn’t going to leave those behind.

With a thought, both chickens disappeared into her space as well.

After thoroughly stripping the Song family home clean, she headed for Wang Zhuzi’s house.

She knew the place well.

The family kept a dog in the yard.

The moment she reached the gate, the dog began barking furiously.

Damn it.

That stupid dog is far too alert.

Remembering how this very dog had bitten her daughter in her previous life, she immediately entered her space.

After searching around inside, she found some rat poison.

She took out a sausage, split it open, and stuffed the rat poison inside.

Just as she was about to leave the space, she heard Wang Zhuzi cursing outside.

“You damn mutt! Why are you barking in the middle of the night? Bark again and I’ll beat you to death!”

A moment later, the dog let out a miserable yelp.

Then everything fell silent.

Song Wanning wasn’t in a hurry to leave.

She stayed in her space for a while, reading one of the medical books.

Besides the books on the counter, she noticed a package lying nearby.

She opened it and discovered a set of silver acupuncture needles.

Counting them, there were a little over thirty needles—more than enough for everyday use.

Checking the time, she saw that over twenty minutes had passed.

Wang Zhuzi had probably gone back to sleep by now.

Taking the poisoned sausage with her, she left the space and entered the courtyard.

Perhaps because Wang Zhuzi had just beaten it, the dog merely whimpered when it saw Song Wanning and no longer dared bark loudly.

She tossed the sausage toward it.

Only after watching the dog eat it did she begin looting the house.

After storing everything of value into her space, she entered Wang Zhuzi’s bedroom.

He was sleeping soundly, snoring thunderously.

Song Wanning nearly walked over and strangled him.

Her hands had already reached out.

But reason ultimately overcame hatred.

She took the pack of silver needles from her space and inserted several needles into his lower abdomen.

Fortunately, the pain from the needles was slight.

Otherwise, Wang Zhuzi would surely have awakened.

“Hmph! From now on, let’s see how you’re ever going to get it up again!”
