Wan Ling calmly walked past the ground and climbed onto the arena.
A number of gazes fell on him because to many what he was about to do was a foolish gamble with nothing to win.
Even if they weren’t using Qi, Chen Yu’s body was far superior by virtue of being near the peak of the body Tempering stage.
She could move faster, striker harder and tanked many more hits than Wan Ling.
She was also from a martial arts clan, fighting was in her nature whereas Wan Ling was a disowned Noble who hadn’t held a sword until entering the sect.
Seeing how unfair it was, some began to make speculations that this was Wan Ling’s way to get out of the sect without quitting.
If he was forced to quit nobody would call him a coward but that too was wrong because Wan Ling had no intention of losing.
So he stood in the arena in silence as an Arbitrator stepped out of the crowd voluntarily.
He was an inner sect member and a member of the sect disciplinary committee.
It was by chance he strolled up here but given his position he decided to step in.
"Wan Ling are you certain this is what you what?" He asked calmly.
"More than anything else!" Wan Ling grinned, his eyes falling on the four.
The Arbitrator was left in awe and didn’t know what to say but since this was his choice he decided not to talk him out of it.
He was here to overlook and that he did as he pointed at Chen Yu.
"You are the one fighting are you not?" He asked.
"Fight!" She smirked in absolute confidence.
"This is a one sided beat down with his name all over it." She taunted and climbed the Arena.
As she did, the trio gathered about.
"Li Wei, are you certain Chen Yu would win?" Zhang Hao asked, feeling something was wrong about Wan Ling’s behavior.
"Yeah the Wan Ling I know isn’t that confident!" Xue remarked.
"She’s winning." Li Wei tried to ignore the eerily discomfort coming from Wan Ling boasted.
"She’ll definitely win."
Meanwhile Chen Yu, having climbed the stage, tapped her storage ring and pulled out a sleek silver sword which shimmered upon the faint touch of the sun while she made a smug expression.
"Isn’t that a higher grade sword? To use that on Wan Ling. That is straight up unfair!"
"A hit from that could destroy Wan Ling’s blade."
Some disciples shook their heads at how unfair the battle was.
" Tsk. He asked for this."
" Trying to be prideful when he’s so weak!"
Others merely scoffed, believing they had already anticipated the end results.
"You two, are you ready?" The Arbitrator asked calmly.
" Yes." Chen Yu playfully twisting her blade about said, her eyes locking onto Wan Ling.
Meanwhile Wan Ling himself nodded in silence, his grip loose and his posture lax.
"You may begin then."
After saying that he leaped off the arena and Chen Yu pointed her sword at Wan Ling.
"Senior... why don’t you knee before me, free my legs from this rather uncomfortable scandal and lick it clean. Maybe then this junior might go easy on you."
Nobody was surprised by how vulgar her words were and some even growled in displeasure but alas this was Wan Ling’s choice.
The young man, seemingly unaffected, crooked his neck and spoke," That mouth of yours, I hope it can do more than speaking nonsense when you’re under me."
The corners of Chen Yu’s lips twitched in annoyance then she began a slow walk around Wan Ling.
"Circling me eh....is this senior of yours strong enough to warrant this much caution or are you that much of a fraud." He sneered.
That did not sit right with Chen Yu who found it insulting to be looked down upon by someone she considered inferior.
"This junior will teach you your place!" She charged forward, her eyes bloodshot with rage.
"Idiot!" Li Wei clicked his tongue with great annoyance but he tried to keep calm.
After all there was no way, the weakling known as Wan Ling could do anything.
Meanwhile Wan Ling sighed deeply and causally took a step to the side.
Chen Yu’s blade sweep passed his face, missing him by an inch.
" Huh!"
" What the?"
" HOW???"
The entire crowd were left gasping in complete disbelief as one second they saw Chen Yu’s blade almost hit him and the next she was left staggering.
" Impressive striking force, unfortunately it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t hit." He snarled the tip of his blade pressed against Chen Yu’s unguarded neck.
Her breath hitch and her face turned red.
"Strike one Madamoisille!" He teased seeing her frozen and unable to retaliate.
Ofcourse Wan Ling was going for a humiliation play so he pulled back his sword and she quickly attacked by spinning around and swinging at him.
He didn’t even step back, he just tilted his posture slightly back resulting in the blade narrowly missing him.
"You’re not going to one shot me. So calm down woman!" He cracked a smile watching as she forced her sword back and swung at him again.
This time, Wan Ling matched her pace and parried her blow with ease.
Her body swayed from the impact then came another press of his blade against her waist.
"Strike two and I am not impressed."
The crowd watched in awe as Wan Ling’s blade touched her again.
Meanwhile the trio were left with widened eyes.
"Impossible!" He Xue exclaimed.
"Isn’t Chen Yu a martial artist, how is she losing to Wan Ling?" Zhang Hao was left perplexed.
As for Li Wei he was in the worst condition among the three.
He couldn’t believe his eyes and watched with trembling eyes as Chen Yu continuously attacked Wan Ling but none succeeded.
It didn’t matter what maneuver she pulled.
A swing was dodged.
A slash parried with ease followed with a counter strike from Wan Ling.
A thrust was either sidestepped or blocked.
Wan Ling absolutely dominated the match and in the end, Chen Yu crumbled onto her knees in humiliation while Wan Ling looked down upon her with his sword underneath her chin.
" Strike hundred" He chuckled and lifted her chin with the blunt side of his sword.
Chen Yu’s eyes went with tears as she looked upon Wan Ling and saw the most devious grin on his lips.
"I have won."
