Wan Ling, to the disbelief of others, kept his blade underneath Chen Yu chin as his eyes wandered off to his system.
"I have improved!" He mused then turned his attention back to Chen Yu.
He had completely stripped her away of her pride and he had done that by dodging every one or her blows while also showing her he could have landed a hit on her.
Chen Yu might proclaim herself an martial artist but her unearned pride, her underestimating him, the gap between their Cultivation which she hadn’t accounted for and presumed she had the advantage and finally the fairy sword dance.
Even one of these factors contributed to her defeat and now while she had been the one to set out and humiliate him, she was now on her knees and him the victor.
"I’ll win!" As he declared once more, the crowd was completely silenced.
None of them expected Wan Ling to have a fighting chance or so much as knew he would dominate the match entirely.
In the minutes both he and Chen Yu fought, Wan Ling had not been hit.
He moved with nimble steps, anticipating and fluidly evading Chen Yu’s strikes.
Chen Yu’s inability to accept this had turned her into a frenzy mess and the moment she lost her composure was the moment Wan Ling won.
Now all he had to do was slowly wound her pride which was easily done by toying with her.
As the disbelief grew, the ones most devastated by her loss was the trio.
He Xue squatted on the ground, her hands on her heard as she realized how fucked she was.
Then there was Zhang Hao who had his hands to his face dreading the incoming trouble that awaited him.
Finally there was Li Wei, who quickly stepped forward unwilling to accept it.
"Impossible!" He snapped.
"There is no way Wan Ling can defeat Chen Yu. He must have cheated."
He was quick to land those accusations on Wan Ling and honestly the crowd couldn’t refute his claim because Wan Ling’s chances of victory were next to zero.
"He must have used an artifact to weaken Chen Yu." He continued and another quickly followed.
"He’s right. It must be that sword. He was touching her with it quite a lot."
"The sword is an artifact!"
"Strip him of it and let him fight again."
"Yess..."
"He cheated!!!"
More and more accusations landed on Wan Ling and yet no once did he deny it.
In a way yes he did cheat, given well he had a system but that was like challenging a dragon to a contest or strength and claiming they cheated by being naturally stronger.
The system was part of Wan ling.
People had bloodlines.
Strange constitution and other unique conditions.
He had the system.
It was his power but there was nothing he could do about it and neither would there because he wasn’t going to tell them.
Thought he would humor them.
So he turned to the Arbitrator and tossed him his sword.
" Fine I’m game. Though it won’t change anything." He shook his head and walked back.
Chen Yu also believed the accusations rose up.
Though her pride was wounded, if Wan Ling did indeed cheat them there was nothing to worry about, she would win this time.
So she kept her sword and quickly resulted in taunts.
"You cheating prick. You almost humiliated me. I’ll make you pay for that. You hear me."
She lunged forward and tried cleaving at Wan Ling.
The fairy sword dance was a sword technique but it wasn’t reliant on the sword.
Its essence was the footwork so even without it, Wan Ling didn’t lose its combat sense as his eyes turned cold and placed both hands behind him.
Chen Yu’s sword quickly came down on him but he dodged it with ease by stepping aside.
Her sword sliced through empty air and a sharp dent in the ground.
Of course Wan Ling wasn’t done because a second later, his right leg slammed straight into Chen Yu’s abdomen and almost made her spit blood.
" What the?"
There was another wave of gasps as Chen Yu, having received such a blow , staggered and almost lost grip of her sword.
"It fucking hurts!" She thought almost choking from the agony she felt around her abdomen.
"I don’t even know what I was trying to prove by not cutting you down when I had the chance."
Pacing about her swaying body calmly, Wan Ling remarked coldly, followed by tilting his head when Chen Yu swung at him again.
This time a thin cut quickly spread alongside his cheeks.
"I KNEW IT!!!" Li Wei was quick to scream alongside many after seeing this.
To them Wan Ling had not been injured when he had the sword but now that it was gone, he had been injured.
That definitely meant he was cheating.
"See I told you all!" Li Wei was quick to fan the flames but even so.....
"Didn’t he hit Chen Yu without the sword!" Someone remarked.
"Yeah, he’s still toying with her." Another said diverting all attention back to Wan Ling and Chen Yu’s battle.
Though he had been hit, the wound wasn’t fatal and just left a shallow cut in his chins.
On the other hand, Chen Yu could barely stand, one arm pressed against her abdomen while the other awkwardly gripped her blade.
"Maybe he’s just stronger than her!"
"Impossible, Wan Ling should be in the second stage of the body Tempering realm. There is no way he is stronger than her."
The Arbitrator wasn’t so certain so he delved deeper and tried sensing Wan ling’s realm and to his surprise he finally noticed.
He wasn’t even in the tempering stage.
He was at the first stage of the Qi gathering.
"That explains his arrogance!" He muttered though he didn’t speak of it.
To him, the four individuals were fools.
To pick a fight without knowing you opponents strength was suicide in the world of Cultivation.
Even more so because they were bullies, wouldn’t it serve them right if they too experienced a tenth of what they inflict on others.
