Bai Ruoxue remained silent, pondering on his words.
She had no intention of speaking about it after all if it was going to be beneficial for her, she would rather monopolize it.
The question was, would what Wan Ling tell her be truly worthy of the hype?
"It depends on its value!" She shrugged and calmly tapped the armrest of her rocking chair.
Frost slipped out her fingers coating the wooden surface of the armrest with thick layers of ice.
"It’s not simply about value but rather what you are willing to do for said value." He cracked a smile and pulled out the Yin and Yang Exchange Technique Manual from his storage ring.
It fell into his palms alongside Elder Han Lie’s latter.
Bai Ruoxue’s eyes narrowed with interest and she tried grabbing it only for it to slip by her when Wan Ling moved his hand slightly.
"What are you doing?" She asked, her voice cold.
Wan Ling kept smiling and pulled back Manuel.
"I won’t give it to you. I am advertising it, you see. I’ll tell you what it is and you tell me what you will do to gain it. You see I can’t have you taking a peek before a deal is finalized."
His words made Bai Ruoxue’s lips twitch in annoyance but she merely sighed.
" Very well Wan Ling. Enlighten me." She sneered and Wan Ling began.
"How much do you know about unorthodox Cultivation methods?"
"Far more than the average question. Why do you ask that?"
"That is the first clue to Elder Han lie’s shame!" He smirked.
"Shame?" Bai Ruoxue blinked in confusion.
"Indeed." Wan Ling nodded.
"Shame is the second clue." He continued.
"You Master, Elder Han Lie recently took a trip outside the sect. Did he not?"
" He... did." She hesitates but answered nonetheless.
" He visited the immortal mountains. He was in search of a method for his impending ascension." She further explained.
" What if I told you that wasn’t all he did."
" Huh?" Bai Ruoxue exclaimed in surprise.
" What do you mean by that?"
Wan Ling’s smile turned serious as he unfolded the letter Elder Han Lie had left behind and passed it to Bai Ruoxue.
"In his time within the immortal mountains. He joined a Hedonism Sect. A sect that preaches desire over anything else." He said while Bai Ruoxue read through the letter, her expression growing increasingly with bewilderment.
" Though he tried to persist. In the end he couldn’t help himself and gave into their words. He indulged in their practices and upon his eventual departure. An Unorthodox technique was passed onto him. A....."
" Dual Cultivation Technique!" Bai Ruoxue interrupted with trembling eyes.
She couldn’t believe it.
Her proud master.
A disciplined cultivator who always preached about abandoning matters of the flesh for the pursuit of one’s Dao.
He gave in to the flesh.
No matter how much she tried she couldn’t see her master, Han Lie do that.
So she was quick to call this false.
" Lies. That old man would never go against his preachings."
" There is no perfect being Ruoxue." He stated.
For Wan Ling he didn’t understand why it was so hard for people to see this.
Even the kindest of people aren’t saints.
As much as the cruellest of people can love.
There was no such thing as a flawless man.
People always go against their words or ideology.
Hypocrisy was in the nature of all living things.
The thing was being a hypocrite didn’t make one bad.
Elder Han Lie wasn’t a bad person just because he went against his teachings and Wan Ling doubted that was what even killed him.
It could be a shock or an assassination.
Either way he had given out the information, it was time to take his price.
It was as simple as that.
"So now you get it. The technique that evaluated my strength was this." He tapped on the manual and gauged Bai Ruoxue’s expression.
She seemed devastated but after a few sessions of breathing exercises, she regained her composure and crumbled the paper within her grip.
It was frozen solid and finally shattered within her grip.
For Bai Ruoxue she still didn’t believe Wan Ling but an Unorthodox technique be it her master’s own or someone else, she couldn’t pass away at that chance.
Especially when her Cultivation has started to grow stale over the years.
"This dual Cultivation method. How certain are you of it."
"Like I said, I went from the second stage of the body Tempering realm to the Qi gathering realm in a matter of days."
"How does it work?" She asked.
She wasn’t clueless as to what Dual Cultivation was but they existed a vast array of methods.
"The technique left behind by Elder Han Lie is dubbed; The Yin and Yang Exchange Technique. It is done by extracting Yin essence or in your case Yang essence from....ahem... semen and refining it into pure qi which will then be absorbed. The stronger the quality the more the benefits."
"I see." She replied calmly though her cheeks were slightly flushed.
" Then I assume you’re tested it."
" Yes."
" How many times?"
" Twice."
There was an awkward silence before Bai Ruoxue exhaled deeply.
" I don’t believe you!" She finally replied but Wan Ling didn’t panic.
He had already come prepared.
" Want a field test then?"
" That is quite an inappropriate thing to say to me!" She scoffed almost angrily.
" Definitely and I regret it. The thing is I’m not lying."
" So you want to prove it to me?" She almost cracked her smile believing this was probably a plot by Wan Ling to get into bed with her.
If that truly was so, she was both terrified and impressed at how much effort he was willing to go to get it done.
Unfortunately that didn’t mean she was going to sleep with him.
"How do you say I proved it to you then?" Wan Ling grinned.
Bai Ruoxue, rubbing her forehead, sighed again as she tried searching for an answer.
