Chapter 23: The Inviolable One? by Harem-Fan

Bang~! And the fight began...

All combatants other than Raynare and maybe Tsubaki were stunned at my operation.

I had spun around 720° and pulled the trigger of my Karma Light Gun, with my orange aura wrapping my body.

Whoosh! Kiba Yuuto was forced to dash to the side, to avoid being shot in the face, as I dashed in Rick Lee's direction.

Then Linda activated her magic through her Astaroth green attack magic circle and launched a large Fire Demonic Bullet in my direction.

Buzz Bang~! But as the hot fire bullet the size of a beach-ball was hurtling in my direction, Tsubaki had intercepted it with a royal-blue defensive magic circle that shattered upon blocking the blast.

As Kiba saw me run to the other-side of the fountain to attack Rick, he used his Knight's speed to chase me down, but he was forced to leap back...

Boom Boom Buzz~! A pair of magenta Light Spears had almost hit his charging form, as Raynare flew up creating another set of Light Spears and said.

"Little handsome Devil, you can't backstab my Freed till you deal with me first."

Although Kiba is skilled, he is only a Lower-Class-high Devil at this point in time, and Ray is now Middle-Class-low with a Holy Light damage advantage.

The Middle-Class-low Thunder Beast, Precious, looked down at the combat, and remembered that damn Devil Tsubaki and leaped at her, putting pressure on the Lower-Class-high Sitri Devil.

The Lower-Class-mid Exorcist, Rick Lee, was smart and used his Excalibur Transparency to turn fully invisible, however...

Patter Crackle Boom~! The thunderstorm and rain was making his invisibility slightly less effective, as the rain and the puddles he steps through still give clues to his general location.

I then tried to flush him out while activating my release state of Telos Karma.

Clang Clang Bang~! As I struck the rain that rippled a tad, an invisible sword blocked my wide wild swing with Excalibur Rapidly, and I then shot my Holy Fire bullet randomly to injure Rick...

My gut told me that he dodged it, but it's fine, then I joked.

"Lee, you must be shy to hide like a pussy, huh?!"

Bang~! I was stunned as I heard a gunshot from my invisible foe, and looked down to see a bullet hole in my side, then I heard his voice in the rain.

[Your Telos Karma has some limitations, like being aware of the attacker, unless you purposefully use defence... Plus I'm using a Desert Eagle with armor penetrating rounds on you, Freed.]

Thankfully the gunshot wound was light, as I am a superhuman, but this makes my fight a bit more challenging!

Whoosh Bang Sizzle~! While I was distracted with my bullet wound, I heard a magic of flying fire coming and I was suddenly struck in the back by Linda's fire bullet!

I actively used Telos Karma to ripple around me to block, deflect, or redirect attacks coming at me, as I have effectively been ganged up on.

"Hey hey, I'm one of the popular kids now, but I don't like the odds, let's see..."

It seems Tsubaki had intended to help me by blocking Linda, but Precious is in a frenzy and is actively sending blasts of electricity at her defensive shields, pinning her down and allowing Linda to attack me.

Raynare is doing well to pressure Kiba, but his Knight speed is too fast for Ray to lock on him, and he is now rushing at me.

And in all this fast paced chaos, I lost Rick Lee's location...

At a distance in the woods, the hiding Asia was about to charge in and heal Freed that was just shot, but...

She was startled as a firm hand held her shoulder, and when she turned her head, she saw Azazel watching from the same place as herself.

"G-Governor General Azazel, what are you doing here... Um. I have to go help Freed."

Azazel shook his head and pointed.

"Freed is fine, that gunshot is a minor wound, and the fire-blast is also minor. If you run in there now, you will only distract Freed as that Devil girl seems to want to kidnap you, right?"

Asia looked conflicted as she watched the chaotic melee, but then she asked timidly.

"A-are you here to help?"

Azazel smiled and shook his head no, and said.

"No, we older beings don't usually get involved directly with the youth. If other forces knew I was here and helped, they would all jump out and attack our youth, get it?"

"Oh, okay... But what are you doing here then?"

Like a kid watching something fun, he grins and says honestly.

"There are 3 Holy Swords, 3 Sacred Gears, one being a Longinus, 3 Devils, 2 Humans, a Fallen Angel, and a Youkai all battling... This is a recipe for something amazing, just watch."

Asia bit her lips and clutched her cross in her praying hands as she watched Freed intensely, ready to run out at any moment...

Bang Clang Bang~! Linda had used her defensive magic circle to block my Karma bullet, while I blocked Kiba's Sword of Darkness with my Excalibur, and my Sacred Gear redirected the invisible sniper bullet back to its source, shooting Rick in his leg, though I couldn't see this.

[Ah~! My kneecap, damn it!]

I grinned imagining him blowing his kneecap off, and scanned around for his blood, while fighting defensively.

Kiba was forced to dodge Raynare's continuous Light Spear rain while taking sneak attack shots on me, as he can't easily fight an airborne foe in this kind of fight.

"Ah~! Get off me!"

Whoosh~! As I dodged a fire bullet from Linda, I saw that the Thunder Beast was biting down on the shaft of Tsubaki's Naginata, and pushed her into a nearby tree, while charging up with its Lightning over its body...

"Tsk~! Devil-chan, just retreat from this fight, you shouldn't be here."

Naturally I didn't look at Tsubaki when I said this, as there are three total Devils, and this fight under a barrier can be viewed like a taped video, but...

Crackle Boom~! The Thunder Beast's white lightning arced through the weapon and electrified Tsubaki.

"Ah~!"

"Fucking bad dog, bad~!"

Whoosh Thud Bang~! Precious, who finally injured the annoying Devil was only happy for a second as she heard a fast moving object coming, and she felt her ribs crack as I kicked her away from the twitching Devil woman on the ground.

The Lightning Beast was sent flying into the mostly broken fountain.

Raynare was a bit shocked I saved this Devil.

Linda's cruel eyes noticed my actions, and charged up a big Fire Bullet, and hurled it at Tsubaki, pretending to aim it at me.

Whoosh~! She did this to avoid troubles with the Sitri Devils and blame it on me if I dodged and hit Tsubaki instead, very treacherous.

Kiba noticed the fallen Rick Lee, and rushed to find the Excalibur Transparency during this confusing moment, and avoid being hit by the flying Youkai.

Just as Raynare was going to attack Linda in anger, I yelled.

"Beauty Mark's going for the sword, stop him first, just don't kill them both!"

"Tsk, You're not trying to save a beauty, right bastard?"

Just as I was using Telos Karma to help deflect the incoming fireball, I just realized!

Bang~ Boom~! Was I saving Tsubaki... but Linda was smarter than I gave her credit for, and as I was going to reflect her attack back on herself, she detonated the fireball early and I was blown away from next to Tsubaki, who was just about to get up!

As I was flying past Kiba into the same broken fountain I kicked the Youkai into, the little bastard swung his sword at me!

Swoosh~! But thankfully my Telos Karma helped to deflect the fatal strike to my neck.

Boom Crumble~! Just as the Youkai was standing from the fountain, I was sent into her and she broke my fall, knocking it back into the fountain rubble.

Splash Zap Crackle Zap~! Then all the water flooded out and was electrified, shocking everyone on the ground at once!

Raynare was in the air and was safe.

Rick Lee fainted from his wounds and shock from the Thunder Beast.

Kiba, who almost picked up the Holy Sword, was electrified and twitched.

Tsubaki, who was currently the furthest away, was only slightly stunned from the surging white electricity flowing on the ground, but she was now weaponless.

Linda, who was the strongest person here, was only slightly dazed and flew into the air with her Devil wings.

I however was gritting my teeth hard, as I could not deflect or redirect the almost pointblank shock, but I kicked the Thunder Beast in the head, stopping its continuous output.

[Yelp~! Ow, My head!]

After kicking Precious, she covered her head with her paw and looked aggrieved and whimpered in pain.

I was still twitching with arcs of small white electricity and complained.

"Shut up stupid dog, or I'll euthanize you with my gun. Fuck that hurt!"

As the Thunder Beast was knocked out of its rage state, it backed away from the conflict and slank away.

I ignored the fleeing Youkai, and turned to fight, but...

The largest fired Demonic Bullet to-date was about 10 feet from my face, thankfully I can use the power of Telos karma to reflect it, well that was the plan!

Flap Flap Thud Boom~! Tsubaki had ejected her wings and flew to me, and not knowing I would reflect it, she rammed me to not be hit, but she was struck instead!

"Tsk, Almost killed you... Ah~!"

Sizzle~! Seeing the flying Devil sniping at me, Raynare formed a total of four large Light Spears floating in the air and rapidly flung them all at Linda, with one of them scraping her hip, sissling in agony.

"Die! Bitch, eat my Light Spears!"

While Linda was fighting the pain and using aerial acrobatics to avoid certain death, Kiba had finally found the Holy Sword next to the unconscious man, and was in a dilemma.

Buzz~! Kiba can't touch a Holy Sword, so he was crafting a sword to capture it...

As I was on the ground, Tsubaki was on top of me, with her glasses, who knows where, and blood on the corner of her lips.

As she was in my left arm with my Holy Sword reverted into its ring form, I felt the deep wound on her back, and knew she was in bad shape.

"Why? I had it under control, Tsubaki?!"

As her eyes started to shut, she whispered.

"Sorry, I just moved... Cough...Heh, You called me by my name..."

Then her eyes started to close as she felt too dizzy from the pain...

As time slowed down in my perception, I heard a mechanical system voice in my mind.

[Ding~! Mission: Tsubaki is on death's door, erupt with your feelings for her and save her. Reward: ?????]

Thump~! The past me would celebrate the death of a Devil.

Thump~! But the new me just thought of the interactions and fighting with this woman.

Thump~! As the slight smile on Tsubaki's face was fading I felt my heartbeat thudding in my chest, and I wanted to save this Devil!

Mwah! As I instinctively kissed Tsubaki's lips, her closing eyes suddenly fluttered and saw a final scene before she passed out.

While feeling warm lips on hers, being princess-carried, she heard my words after the short kiss...

"Balance Breaker: The Inviolable One!"
