Chapter 5: Kuroka Toujou? by Harem-Fan
Raynare was serious about not being the Boss when she should, and I speechlessly had to be the proxy-boss here...
I waved at Vali and said to him...
"Hey, long time no see, Vali. I see you finally made friends, hehe."
Raynare's eye twitched hearing my tone and wanted to kick me away, but Vali only said.
"Honestly I wanted to kill you back then, but who knew you actually survived my random attack."
Vali is a handsome young man with light silver hair and blue eyes.
He is wearing dark, stylish clothing, a black leather jacket and burgundy jeans.
I looked at each of the other three people and asked.
"So you're wanting to find the owner of Boosted Gear, right? Are you going to use this whole team on a weak guy?"
Vali shook his head and pointed to the open two spots across from himself at the U-shaped booth.
"Good, you seem to know who the person is, sit down and let's talk."
Vali was sitting on the left most outside, with the Englishman to his left, and next sat the Chinese man, and finally the Japanese woman...
As I noticed the Japanese woman was very beautiful, I beat Raynare to the spot and slid into the booth next to the kimono-clad woman, forcing Raynare to the outside end.
Unknown to me, I had a very punchable face when I was squeezed in by Raynare and this other hot woman.
The elegant man drinking black tea introduced himself.
"Hello, my name is Arthur Pendragon, nice to meet you."
Arthur Pendragon is a bespectacled young man with blond hair and a strand falling over his face, wearing a white British-style business suit.
I could tell he had been sizing me up as a swordsman, and could tell he was disappointed in me.
Yeah, the past me was only a master in name only.
At best I am now equal to Kiba and lack the raw talent this guy has.
Arthur and my senior Siegfried have always been rivals, and frankly I'm jealous, envious, and hate. I am not as good as this guy, sigh.
Arthur had expected me to blow up and challenge him, but I held it in.
The Chinese guy was very likable and introduced himself.
"Haha, Call me Bikou."
Bikou is a young man with short, light-colored reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, and an athletic build.
(Both Bikou and Kuroka are hiding their animal features right now.)
He has blue shorts and a white Hawaiian-style shirt with palm-trees on it, and a pair of flip-flops.
He is drinking a banana daiquiri with a piece of pineapple on the edge with a paper umbrella.
The woman next to me, who is also drinking milk, says in a seductive voice.
"Hello, you can call me Kuroka~nya!"
Kuroka is a beautiful, voluptuous young woman with long, black hair and split bangs, hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils.
She is wearing a black kimono with a yellow obi, a red interior, golden beads, an ornate headband, and wooden geta.
As she had turned to me to introduce herself, I clearly saw the valley from her kimono top, and held back my gulp!
But Everyone saw that my eyes were a bit enlarged.
What?
Sure Raynare has a nice chest, but this Kuroka just has a better way of showing them off!
It was too difficult for Kuroka and I to notice, and only one person in the building felt my Sacred Gear act on its own.
Telos Karma can reflect attacks, afflictions, emotions, and this also includes natural charms or intimidation of others, meaning personal skills like seduction or coercion.
I was unaware that Kuroka was sending back her own charms targeting me and my own lust for herself.
This isn't any kind of supernatural power sent back, but her intentions combined with my own feelings from her actions.
At this very moment in the restaurant downstairs, a man stopped mid bite and looked up...
"So that was what I felt yesterday in Kuoh, interesting... Longinus..."
Azazel is a tall man appearing in his twenties with black hair, a golden fringe, and a black goatee.
He is dressed lazily with a loose men's black yukata and looks frivolous.
As Kuroka felt a bit shocked at her sudden-feeling after trying to get a reaction out of me, I asked...
"Ah? What was your name again?"
"You should introduce yourselves first, but my name is Kuroka~nya."
Yeah, I was right!
With her speech and eyes, she must be a Nekomata, so I introduce us again, even though they should know us.
"I'm Freed Sellzen, and this is my boss, Raynare. We came to Vali to find the Boosted Gear in Kuoh."
The bartender Tobio came to the table and asked the both of us for our order.
"What can I get for you both?"
Raynare smiles adorably at the young man and orders.
"Warm sake please."
I grin seeing Vali and Kuroka's drinks and order.
"Give me a White Russian and some onion-rings."
Tobio nodded and left professionally...
Who knew this guy also had a Longinus!
Vali asked me seriously.
"You said weak guy before... Are you saying you know him and he is weak?"
I nodded, and before I was going to explain, Raynare said to me unhappily.
"Freed, why did you not inform me of such important news?"
I shrugged at psycho chick and said to them.
"I don't know where he lives, but I know where he goes to school, and can identify him if I see him. But Raynare, why would I need to inform you about the Boosted Gear?"
Raynare wanted to slap me, because she wants to steal the Boosted Gear for herself.
The Boosted Gear is infinitely better than a common Twilight Healing.
As we were brought our order, a man's voice carried into our ears, answering my question.
"Well, the Boosted Gear on its own isn't an issue, but if the Boosted Gear is inside a weak Human, it can destroy the Human world if provoked."
Azazel slid over a chair from the next table, and sat between Vali and Raynare after saying that.
Raynare seeing her idol sit next to her, stuttered in excitement.
"H-hello Governor General!"
I rolled my eyes at this Fallen Angel woman, and remembered seeing an anime picture of this guy, but he is really intimidating in person.
Azazel took some onion rings and Raynare's sake then continued speaking.
"If this guy is young and can't control the Boosted Gear, he could get into a fight with other kids and accidentally activate his Juggernaut Drive and destroy all of Japan before he dies and enters his own Sacred Gear as a past possessor."
"If he is strong enough to control it, that is fine to leave him alone, but if he is as weak as you say, then a swift death will save the Human world from countless lives dying unnecessarily."
"Normal Sacred Gear users don't have to be killed, because their Sacred Gears can't go out of control and cause mass destruction, but for a Longinus, those 13 top Sacred Gears can be more devastating than nuclear weapons."
"The purpose for the Grigori organization for thousands of years, is to control and suppress dangerous elements like the Longinus to the Human world."
He looked at me and asked.
"Are you aware that you have a Sacred Gear in you... You've been subconsciously using it lately?"
Raynare's hands froze hearing I had a Sacred Gear, and her thoughts grew dangerous, depending on what I had.
I remember in the first half of the anime season 1, there was no mention of me having a Sacred Gear, but then it hit me... The Ultimate Karma System!
"Yeah, but I don't know what it's called, just that it helps me in battle."
Fuck, Azazel is too sharp to lie too, but now Raynare might make me the next Asia if I'm not careful.
All four members of the Vali Team are now undressing me with their eyes, because these guys are probably like Vali and battle-junkies.
I think my life just got more dangerous... Fucking why did I have to come here?!
Azazel cast magic, and touched my shoulder and nodded.
"It was what I thought... Kid, you're damn lucky, you possess a Longinus!"
Everyone at the table was surprised, including me, but Raynare was sad.
She too touched me with her magic, and found that her Sacred Gear stealing ritual couldn't extract the power of a Longinus.
(When Issei in the anime held Yuuma's hand, she inspected the Sacred Gear to confirm she couldn't steal it, due to Juggernaut Drive activation, and she settled for Asia after that discovery.)
I asked him.
"What exactly is my Sacred Gear then?"
Everyone's ear leaned in to hear.
"History Breaker, the 13th Longinus, Telos Karma, also known by many names, like Ultimate Karma."
Then a robotic voice was heard as the air around me vibrated.
[If you try to take my Host's Sacred Gear away, the Ultimate Karma System will erase all of you from History. Have a nice day.]
Azazel couldn't close his mouth after hearing my Sacred Gear speak, as there had never been a soul inside the Telos Karma like that of Albion and Ddraig.
Raynare, the weakest one here, was sweat-dropping at the fact she could've really screwed herself trying to extract Telos Karma.
But the eyes Vali is giving me felt really creepy, like the eyes I gave Raynare and Kuroka.
After Azazel quickly accepted this new and fun puzzle of a Sacred Gear he has seen throughout Human history, he said while grinning at me.
"Wow, that makes 4 Longinus users now working for the Grigori, how fun... Raynare, look after your subordinate, his future is bright."
Then Azazel pulled out an Exorcist Light Gun made by himself, and said while handing it to me.
"I had made this for fun, but it will be perfect for you as you get stronger... The current gun you have can only effectively hurt Lower and Middle Class foes, but this one will have no upper-limit, and can even accommodate a strength of Ultimate-Class."
As I took the Light Gun, that looks like my standard Light Gun, I saw the Systems text box show again in black with silver letters...
[Ding~♪! Congratulations, flattering the Boss earned you a weapon capable of becoming a Balance Breaker, keep training, my Host!]
As the System box faded, I heard Azazel telling Raynare her mission.
"If the new host is confirmed to be weak, just swiftly kill him so the Boosted Gear can move to a new host... But if he is strong and can control his Boosted Gear, then just observe him for any emergency, got it?"
And after a few more words, Azazel pulled me to the side to explain everything he knew about my Sacred Gear, to avoid any missteps in training.
Finally Azazel told the Vali team and the Raynare team to keep my Sacred Gear a secret for now, as things are chaotic right now...
