The construction of our cottage went incredibly smoothly.
Before the sun had completely disappeared beyond the western horizon, the simple wooden house was already standing firmly and neatly.
As the finishing touch, I walked to the edge of the valley and stomped my foot against the ground.
“Barrier Magic: Invisible Boundary.”
A powerful protective magical barrier spread around our entire territory.
Anyone or anything attempting to trace the coordinates of this place would only find the illusion of an empty cliff wall.
Our home had officially become a secret utopia, completely hidden from the outside world.
As evening slowly gave way to night, the valley settled into a peaceful atmosphere.
The two of us sat side by side on the wooden chairs of our new cottage’s porch, enjoying cups of warm tea.
Charlotte rested her head against my cold shoulder, wearing the most genuine, carefree smile I had ever seen on her face. Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.
After the long and winding journey we had endured, we had finally found a place where we could call home forever.
The following morning, the valley was once again covered in the fresh scent of morning dew.
I woke up and stepped onto the porch, where I found Charlotte already standing there, staring at the vast empty yard in front of our cottage.
“Good morning, my wife. Ready to start the day?” I greeted her softly from behind.
Charlotte turned around and gave me a sweet smile.
“Morning, Ryuu. You’re already all dressed up this early.”
I leaned against the porch railing, gazing intently at her beautiful profile.
“Of course. Back on Earth, my eyes were used to staring at endless rows of lifeless numbers and cold graphs every morning. But in this new world, waking up and seeing your smile right away… it feels like I’ve found the most beautiful and genuine form of life in the entire universe.”
Charlotte froze for a moment at the unexpected poetic remark.
The next second, her beautiful face turned bright red, all the way to the tips of her pointed ears. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.
She lightly smacked my arm, clearly flustered.
“Ryuu! What kind of cheesy line is that first thing in the morning? Where did you even learn to say things like that? You’re making me embarrassed!”
She turned her face away, desperately trying to hide the smile that had already bloomed across her lips.
I could only chuckle softly at her adorable reaction.
Once the atmosphere had settled down again, Charlotte pointed toward the empty patch of land beside the cottage.
“Ryuu, I want to make a small vegetable garden over there. That way, we won’t have to go deep into the Forbidden Forest every time we need food.”
“Good idea,” I replied with a nod.
“Then you handle the garden. I’ll keep working on the fence around the yard so our home will be safer from wild animals.”
To be continued.
