Luo Yunmian’s feet felt as if they were filled with lead as she stepped heavily out of the elevator.

She followed him silently down the hallway.

Soon, they stopped in front of a hotel room door, and he raised his hand to knock lightly.Full novel: Entangled Passion: Beijing to Hong Kong — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A moment later, the door opened from the inside. It was Zhuang Bo.

Zhuang Bo turned sideways and saw Luo Yunmian behind Fu Yanchi. The corners of his mouth lifted as he raised his hand in a cheerful greeting.

“Hi, Sister Mianmian.”

This greeting made it clear that he already knew her.

She nodded slightly, suppressing her emotions, and followed them into the hotel room.

It was a beautifully decorated sea-view room with a large bed. Upon entering, her gaze was immediately drawn to the meticulously crafted black-and-white marble bathroom, elegant and refined.

Inside the room, a spacious bed stood next to a 270-degree floor-to-ceiling window.

Outside, the dazzling night view of Victoria Harbour was visible. It should have been an incredibly romantic atmosphere, but Luo Yunmian had no heart to appreciate it at the moment.

Her eyes wandered around the room, eventually settling on the table in front of the sofa, where a laptop was placed.

Zhuang Bo had already hurried over, sitting in front of the table, his fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard. As he worked, he spoke to Fu Yanchi.

“I’ve arranged everything. I had someone send them a bottle of red wine, and the hidden camera was also delivered and installed by the staff.”

Fu Yanchi nodded and turned to look at Luo Yunmian, his tone cautious.

“Sister Mianmian, everything is arranged here. I ordered some late-night snacks for you to eat later.”

Luo Yunmian nodded, took off her coat, and handed it to him. Only then did she notice that her trench coat had already been brought up and placed on the other side of the sofa.

She sat on one side of the sofa as her phone chimed with a message notification.

Unexpectedly, when she opened her phone, she saw it was from Shen Xin’er.

A blatant provocation.

A seductive selfie in a black lace camisole dress, with a man in the bathroom behind the woman, his lower half obscured.

Fu Yanchi stood beside her and naturally saw the content on her phone from above.

【Miss Luo, countless nights your boyfriend has fallen at my feet.】

Fu Yanchi instinctively looked at Luo Yunmian’s face, but she merely curled the corner of her mouth and swiped her finger across the screen, capturing a screenshot with a soft “click.”

She raised her eyes, meeting his gaze calmly.

“I’m not that fragile.”

Just then, Zhuang Bo spoke up, “They’re about to start. Do you want to watch the live stream?”

Fu Yanchi stepped forward and slapped the back of his head, a hint of anger flashing in his eyes.

“Mute it.”

With a pained “Ouch,” Zhuang Bo shot Fu Yanchi a resentful look but obediently complied.

From beginning to end, Luo Yunmian didn’t glance at the video on the laptop screen, where the man and woman were entangled.

Having evidence was enough. Her heart felt as if it had been pierced beyond repair, yet she managed to maintain her composure in front of others.

Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Fu Yanchi walked over, opened it, took a bag, and closed the door again.

“Have something to eat first.”

He had ordered three bowls of noodles. One bowl had an abundance of cilantro and no green onions. Fu Yanchi helped open the lid and placed it in front of Luo Yunmian.

She stared at him blankly. He was indeed attentive, always remembering her preferences.

It wasn’t true that she felt nothing inside, but their relationship wasn’t exactly something to be proud of either.

Her parents would probably be very disappointed if they knew she was involved in a messy situation with her boyfriend’s younger brother. The biggest issue was that he was three years younger than her, and in her mind, she had always seen him as a younger brother.

She looked at the other two bowls, both topped with scallions. Many answers seemed ready to surface, but she dared not seek confirmation, nor did she dare take a step forward.

Six years of feelings had taken root. Trying to pull away would inevitably tug at those deep-seated attachments and long-ingrained habits.

“Mianmian jie?” Fu Yanchi called out.

Luo Yunmian forced a smile, picked up her chopsticks, and said, “Thank you.”

But the distance and indifference in her tone were easily detected by Fu Yanchi.

He lowered his head, clenched his hands tightly, suppressing the turmoil in his heart, and spoke with a hint of bitterness.

“Mianmian jie, if you want to stop it, I can take someone to knock on the door.”

Luo Yunmian couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him. Hypocrite. He was probably the one who most wanted Fu Tingshen to cheat.

Luo Yunmian put down her chopsticks, propped her hand on the table, and rested her cheek on it. For a rare moment, she temporarily forgot the oppressive emotions brought on by Fu Tingshen’s betrayal.

Her eyes flickered, and she raised an eyebrow.

“Alright, Yanchi, go knock on the door now. Who knows, you might make your brother finish too soon!”

“Pfft!” Zhuang Bo instantly sprayed noodles all over the table. He choked, coughing uncontrollably, tears nearly welling up in his eyes.

Finally catching his breath, he frantically grabbed a handful of tissues, wiping the table while trying hard to hold back his laughter, though his trembling shoulders betrayed him.

“Mianmian jie, you’re just too adorable. I really couldn’t help it!”

Fu Yanchi tilted his head, shooting Zhuang Bo a dark look before turning his helpless gaze back to Luo Yunmian.

She certainly knew how to get revenge.

Killing two birds with one stone.

If he knocked on the door, his brother might actually get scared, and as for him, knowing about their affair would naturally create a rift between him and his brother.

A slight smile tugged at Fu Yanchi’s lips. He leaned forward slightly, reached out, and gently brushed through the woman’s seaweed-like hair, his peach blossom eyes filled with deep amusement.

“Mianmian jie, you’re too mischievous.”

Luo Yunmian froze, feeling the warmth of his palm, whether intentional or not, brush against the back of her neck, sending a tingling sensation through her.

His expression slightly flustered, he pretended to act naturally, his slender, well-defined fingers gently picking up the strand of hair that had slipped to her chest and carefully tucking it behind her ear.

Luo Yunmian felt like she had shot herself in the foot. Not only had she failed to tease him, but she had ended up being flirted with instead.

Flustered, she stood up, glanced around the room, and changed the subject. “Are we staying here tonight?”

Fu Yanchi nodded. “Mianmian jie, you go to sleep. We’ll keep watch.”

Luo Yunmian said nothing more and walked straight into the bedroom.

Lying in bed, Luo Yunmian kept replaying the events of the day in her mind, feeling it was all too surreal.

Everything was just too dramatic.

She had only wanted to relax at the bar, yet she had almost run into Fu Tingshen and his white moonlight by sheer coincidence.

Luo Yunmian drifted into a hazy sleep, her hand accidentally brushing against something warm. Slowly opening her eyes, her consciousness gradually returned, only to find Fu Yanchi lying beside her.

Startled, she quietly withdrew her hand from his back.

Unconsciously, she began to study the young man lying next to her.

The dim yellow light from the motion-sensor lamp on the floor seeped through, faintly illuminating his profile and outlining the sharp lines of his face. At this moment, his always affectionate peach-blossom eyes were closed, appearing exceptionally gentle, with long eyelashes casting a shadow beneath them.

How could a man have such long eyelashes? Luo Yunmian felt a twinge of envy.

Just as her thoughts wandered, Fu Yanchi suddenly opened his eyes. Their gazes met, and Luo Yunmian’s heart skipped a beat.

Before she could react, Fu Yanchi had already reached out to cover her eyes, his low and husky voice whispering in her ear.

“Yunmian-jie, if you keep looking at me like that, I won’t be able to hold back.”
