In Room 1888 of the Hilton Hotel, Yu Lingqian’s face had turned as black as coal.
He leaned against the bedroom doorjamb, his eyebrows knitted into a “川” shape, glancing at his wristwatch from time to time.
“Thud thud thud,” after a series of hurried footsteps, Shen Muchen rushed over with a medical kit.
He skidded to a stop in front of Yu Lingqian, looking him up and down before asking anxiously, “Boss, has the wound split open again?”
“It’s not me!” After dropping that cold remark, he turned and walked towards the master bedroom.
“Not you?
Then who is it…” Shen Muchen followed him, and upon seeing the woman lying on the bed, he stopped talking and his mouth formed an “O” shape.
Disbelieving, he rubbed his eyes, which were now so wide they could fit an egg.
He wasn’t blind nor mistaken—there indeed was a woman lying on the boss’ bed.
It seemed, it seemed to be the Little White Rabbit they had saved last night.
Only, the Little White Rabbit who would bite people last night, didn’t seem too good now.
“Keep staring and I’ll gouge out your dog eyes,” Yu Lingqian said coldly.
Shen Muchen quickly looked away, putting on a serious face as he approached the bed with the medical kit.
He touched Mu Anran’s forehead with his hand and frowned, “Why is it so hot?”
After carefully examining her, when he used the tympanic thermometer, he saw the purple bruises on Mu Anran’s neck.
She wore a loose white shirt, and on her slender clavicle, there were traces of passionate (harmonious) love.
Shen Muchen coughed lightly twice, now understanding the situation:
Even though he’d just broken his vegetarian vows, couldn’t he control himself a little?
With his strong physique, which woman could endure that?
“High fever, 39 degrees Celsius.” He turned and placed an ice pack on Mu Anran’s forehead.
Yu Lingqian’s brow furrowed, “How useless.”
Shen Muchen looked at him as if he were a monster, “Boss, do you think everyone is as tough as you?
She’s just a little girl, who drank so much alcohol and was drenched in cold water all night.
It was sad enough already, and you…
you tormented her like that, she’s lucky to still be alive.”
Yu Lingqian did not speak, just gave Shen Muchen a cold look, instantly silencing him.
Clearing his throat awkwardly, Shen Muchen began to feel a bit sorry for the Little White Rabbit.
“Well, I’ll give her a fever-reducing injection first, then prepare some oral medication.”
After doing all of this, Shen Muchen couldn’t help but add, “Boss, as a man, the least you should do is be tolerant and cherish women.
The way you’re going about this…
it’s not right!”
Yu Lingqian spoke indifferently, “If you don’t speak, nobody will take you for a mute.”
Shen Muchen waved his hand, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be off, then.
Call me immediately if there’s any problem.”
However, as he reached the door, his gossiping nature burst forth, and he stuck his head back in, holding the doorframe, “Boss, tell me the truth, are we about to have a little sister-in-law?”
Yu Lingqian turned his icy gaze toward him, and before he could speak, Shen Muchen let out a yelp and scampered off.
As soon as he got in his car, he whipped out his phone like he’d discovered a new continent, and sent a voice message to his brothers’ group: “Bombshell, bombshell, we’re getting a little sister-in-law!”
After ten minutes, the group was silent.
Doubtfully, Shen Muchen dropped another voice message, “Where is everyone?
Why is no one responding to me?”
