Regarding He Shi, a man who seemed sophisticated at first glance but turned into a relentless, clingy “dog-skin plaster” upon second meeting, I would have KO’d him countless times by now if it weren’t for my future wife.

His sudden, sharp question made me turn instantly to scrutinize his expression.

He Shi stood behind me; in the dim surroundings, I couldn’t see his face clearly, but by the sudden flash of a nearby strobe light, I saw a pair of eyes that were exceptionally bright at that moment.Full novel: Every Day, I Want to Snatch Them Away from the White Moonlight — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ever since our second meeting, his shameless behavior had kept me from noticing that he actually had a rather nice pair of eyes.

Many thoughts raced through my mind before I asked with full alertness:

“What are you talking about?”

He Shi didn’t answer. He took two steps, sat down beside me, and reverted to his previous manner, draping an arm over my shoulder.

Does this guy not know how to speak without getting handsy or footy?

The tipsy sensation meant I felt his movement, and I immediately stood up from my original spot.

I turned around, gave He Shi a shove, straddled him, and grabbed him by the collar.

“Do you really have a death wish?”

Shi didn’t reply; instead, after a long silence, he let out a light chuckle.

“What are you laughing at?” I truly wanted to strangle this annoying fellow.

I attempted to intimidate him with a fierce expression, but I never expected that He Shi would burst into full laughter after hearing me.

This kind of blatant, insulting behavior made me very unhappy.

Just as I clenched my fist to let him taste the power of the You family’s punches, an uncertain yet familiar voice came from behind.

“Senior Brother?”

My movements came to an abrupt halt, solely because that voice was too familiar to me.

Had it been anyone else, I would have finished dealing with the annoying guy beneath me first.

Perhaps out of pure shock, I only managed to turn around and look at the person before me.

Even in this environment of dim lighting and flashing neon, that man’s aura remained unique.

It was as if the surroundings had nothing to do with him; just by standing there quietly, he could still draw everyone’s gaze.

Glancing around, I noticed several men and women already had their eyes fixed on him.

Before I could make any move of dissatisfaction, He Shi beneath me spoke up:

“Oh, babe, although our current situation requires some proper ‘venting,’ my little Junior Brother is here. Let’s talk later.”

How could I have been so careless? I forgot the thing beneath me wasn’t human at all.

How could anything good come out of his mouth? It’s one thing to talk nonsense normally, but what is the situation now?

I immediately turned to glare at him, ready to strike.

Shi pressed down on my hand, then suddenly leaned close to me and spoke in a lowered voice.

“Are you sure you don’t want to get off of me at a time like this?”

Only then did my brain react a beat late. My dignified future wife had just arrived, and I was still pinned on top of someone else, looking ready to brawl.

I immediately jumped off He Shi and jogged over to Mo An.

“Mo An, what you just saw was a misunderstanding, really…”

Mo An raised a hand slightly. “You don’t need to explain to me.”

I froze. Was he completely indifferent, or what was going on?

Even if I couldn’t grasp the current situation, I still wanted to tell him the truth. I couldn’t let myself be saddled with a reputation for fooling around with others; how would I pursue him after that?

“No, the fact is…”

Mo An interrupted me coldly: “There’s really no need to explain. I don’t care.”

I was instantly petrified. Fine, he didn’t care at all what I said or did.

This baby feels wronged…

The future wife is too cold and aloof, always utterly indifferent. How do I break through?

Mo An brushed past me. Before I could react, I heard his voice from behind.

“Besides, I have eyes.”

What?

Was that sentence directed at me?

In the company, Mo An was always a man of few words; unless absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t speak much, and he always hit the nail on the head when discussing issues.

He had already stopped me twice in a row. Logically, the matter should be over. So what did this “extra” sentence mean to him?

I turned to look at Mo An, who was already sitting with He Shi. His expression was as usual.

I couldn’t tell what he was thinking.

And I wasn’t sure if the pressure of the urgent explanation just now was too great, or if I had drunk too much tonight, but my stomach started feeling quite uncomfortable.

Shi looked at me with a smile, a smile so full of ill intent that I didn’t dare leave.

What if I went to the restroom to handle my vomiting issue for the sake of my “face,” and He Shi stayed here talking nonsense to Mo An?

Saying things like we “fell in love at first sight,” “were enchanted at second sight,” and “committed our lives over drinks at third sight”?

Then my future with Mo An would be completely ruined.

Before I could sort out the logic, He Shi walked over.

With my future wife sitting not far away, I definitely had to watch my every word and deed. I couldn’t let this loose-lipped person ruin my reputation. Clearly, Mo An trusted him far more than me right now.

I took a step back, looking at him guardedly.

“What do you want?”

Seeing my cautious appearance, the smile on He Shi’s lips grew even wider. He didn’t try to get closer; he just spoke.

“Babe, if you’re uncomfortable, go to the restroom and settle it first.”

I really had been startled by Mo An’s sudden arrival; only now did I notice how this guy was addressing me.

Heavens, give me a gun so I can shoot this bastard.

As if pursuing my wife wasn’t hard enough already.

“He Shi, speak properly. Who is your ‘babe’?”

Faced with my angry rebuke, He Shi laughed instead of getting angry: “Babe, don’t be shy. Mo An is my Junior Brother; he’s one of us.”

I looked very guiltily at Mo An sitting nearby.

He sat upright on the sofa, holding a glass, watching us indifferently.

Normally his aura was cold enough, but contrasted with this noisy environment, he seemed even colder.

A shiver went through my heart. One hand forcefully grabbed He Shi while the other reached around his neck to cover his mouth.

I turned and spoke urgently to Mo An, “Mo An, sit here for a moment. I have something to say to He Shi.”

I dragged He Shi toward the restroom. Fortunately, He Shi didn’t struggle during the process; he just went along with my actions.

Even though my head was dizzy and heavy, I could see the blatant mirth in his eyes.

I was determined to give him a good lesson, almost roaring the words in my heart at him:

“What the hell are you laughing at? Is it that funny to see me suffer?”

As soon as we entered the restroom, before I could do anything to He Shi…

The churning discomfort in my stomach surged up like a long-lost son seeing his mother.

I glanced at He Shi, who was raising an eyebrow in defiance. Weighing my options, I turned and locked the restroom door.

Then I ducked into a stall. I really shouldn’t drink when I’m in a bad mood; how could my usual tolerance let me get this drunk?

After a bout of heavy vomiting into the toilet, I turned and walked out.

Shi was leaning against the door, just standing there watching me.

“Feel better?”

I took two steps, turned on the water, washed my face, and looked at myself in the mirror.

How embarrassing. Not only was I played by someone else’s scheme, but I also came out to drown my sorrows.

And forget the drinking I got tangled up with a man who has no bottom line, and most importantly, I lost face in front of Mo An.

I washed my face with cold water again and turned to look at He Shi.

“What exactly do you want?”

He Shi looked me up and down without answering my question directly.

“What are you planning to do by Xiao An’s side?”

Tsk. What am I planning?

Lingering by his side, I obviously have an agenda if it’s not the person, it’s the money.

With my “nouveau riche second generation” aura, do I really need to rob Mo An?

“In what capacity are you asking that?”

I didn’t intend to go in circles with He Shi anymore. For someone whose skin is this thick, circling around has no effect at all.

Better to cut straight to the point.

Shi retracted the smile from his face and paused, appearing to think about something before speaking.

“You Quan, don’t bother. You don’t have a chance.”

That serious tone made my heart tighten. I observed He Shi carefully.

Even with the alcohol hitting my head, I could tell He Shi wasn’t joking with me.

His words seemed to convey a message. Mo An had always given me a mysterious, untouchable feeling; since there was an opportunity here, I certainly wasn’t going to let it go.

I leaned against the sink, relaxed my body, and asked him:

“Do you know what I want to do?”

Shi sneered.

“I’ve been with Mo An for several years. So many people have come and gone by his side men and women alike. There are too many who show him favor openly or cast secret glances. What kind of person haven’t I seen?”

It’s not good for a future wife to be too attractive. I was deeply impressed by Mo An from the first meeting.

I didn’t expect so many people to have come and gone around him.

Suddenly, I realized: could the He Shi speaking so seriously now have been one of them?

“Wait, He Shi, don’t tell me you like Mo An too?”

The corners of He Shi’s mouth curled up slightly. “Too?”

The strange intonation made me realize I had accidentally revealed my feelings just now.

Fine. Since my goal has been seen through, hiding it wouldn’t be manly.

Without even needing to psych myself up, I stated my feelings.

“That’s right. I’ve set my sights on him. I like him…”

Hearing this, He Shi stroked his chin with the hand that was previously crossing his chest.

“Mhm?”

I stepped forward and grabbed his collar, speaking fiercely:

“I’m telling you, He Shi: you’d better not have any ideas about him. Otherwise, I’ll teach you how to behave.”

…

He Shi: Can’t you not talk in the restroom? Aren’t you a rich second generation?

Rich Guy: Didn’t you follow me in yourself?
