The shipping cost… well, it was like ordering to a remote area before the apocalypse—no free shipping.

In short, buying anything on a barren planet was more expensive than on other worlds. Other planets might include free shipping, but on a barren planet, the shipping fee could even exceed the price of the item itself.

That’s why Su Yue usually preferred shopping at physical stores before.Full novel: Exiled to a Desolate Planet I Farm and Raise Children in the Interstellar World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

However, for high-priced equipment, online shopping was still more cost-effective. Also, some items weren’t even available in the stores of Boundless City.

For instance, Su Yue was currently checking medical pods.

Indeed, she wanted to buy a medical pod for herself.

In the interstellar era, technology was highly advanced. Medical pods could perform many hospital functions—body checkups, surgeries, even assisting childbirth.

Having one at home meant she wouldn’t need to go to hospitals for prenatal checkups or childbirth.

After the baby was born, she could also use it daily to monitor health.

Hospitals in Boundless City were always crowded, and each visit wasted a lot of time—time she valued greatly.

Unfortunately, the base model of a medical pod cost at least one million star coins, far beyond what she could afford.

After browsing the product details and reviews, Su Yue felt tempted but could only close the page.

By then, both pots of lard had rendered quite a bit, and she went to scoop the oil.

Once the pot level dropped, she added more chopped pork fat.

After finishing the current task, she returned to browsing other items online.

“A basic household robot… 600,000 star coins…” Su Yue exhaled.

“That expensive? We might as well do chores ourselves…”

“Juicing isn’t difficult. Yeah… no need to buy one.”

Thinking about her home robot, she resolved to take better care of it. But she also reminded herself not to break anything the landlord owned—repairs would be costly.

Then she checked mech prices.

The results were shocking.

A D-class mech cost 5 million star coins.

Higher-class mechs were even more expensive. Online sales only went up to A-class mechs; anything above that wasn’t for sale.

Buying an A-class mech required applying to the relevant authorities and verifying qualifications.

This qualification required matching mental strength levels and proper identity.

What identity? Being part of a mercenary team or the military.

Actually, the military issued mechs to frontline soldiers, so they didn’t need to purchase one.

But those mechs weren’t personal property, so some soldiers still needed to buy mechs privately. Companies would prioritize such requests.

Learning this, Su Yue sighed.

She had once wanted to buy an S-class mech for her brother—but now, that seemed impossible.

“Eh, stop overthinking. Just save up a million star coins first. With money in hand, you won’t panic. Step by step…” she comforted herself and returned to scooping oil.

Once one container was full, she stored the lard in spatial storage, then placed it on the countertop for use, before filling a second container.

“When Di Kun returns, I’ll need to go to the supermarket for more jars.”

“Also a juicer, sealing machine, cups for juice, and rice and flour. I need to stock up.”

An hour and a half later, all storage jars were filled. Su Yue had to pause the lard-rendering.

Checking the time on her neural interface, she realized it was already 4 p.m.

It hadn’t reminded her of payments for a while.

She figured Di Kun would be back soon.

It was time to start cooking.

They already had meat and lard—tonight would be a feast.

Su Yue contacted Su Yi to have the household robot come help in the kitchen.

The robot sliced and chopped meat, while she began cooking.

Kung Pao Duck, braised pork ribs with potatoes, braised lion’s head meatballs, red-braised pork, Kung Pao chicken, and fish-flavored shredded pork.

Working with two pots simultaneously, Su Yue cooked quickly.

Soon, the kitchen was filled with enticing aromas.

Di Kun returned home and smelled the food from the yard.

He couldn’t resist the aroma and hurried inside with long strides.

“Yue Yue—” he called, heading straight for the kitchen.

Seeing Di Kun, Su Yue smiled.

“You’ve worked hard. Go downstairs and get Big Brother; we’ll start eating soon.”

Di Kun glanced at the dishes on the countertop, swallowed, and headed to the basement.

Even as he walked, he couldn’t hide his smile.

Coming home to people and delicious food felt amazing…

Su Yue finished the last dish, instructed the robot to serve and tidy up, then walked to the dining room.

Di Kun and Su Yi arrived shortly after.

Seeing the table full of food, they almost drooled.

Su Yue signaled them to sit and eat.

Neither held back; they dug in immediately.

Their chopsticks barely paused before starting again.

“Mmm—so addictive—Yue Yue, this meat is amazing!” Su Yi exclaimed, stuffing a piece of red-braised pork into his mouth.

“All the dishes are amazing! I love meat!”

Di Kun nodded in agreement.

As a military marshal, he had eaten all these dishes before—even in high-end restaurants—but none tasted as good as his wife’s.

Especially the red-braised pork—simply exquisite.

Di Kun ate slower than Su Yi but still quickly.

“This red-braised pork is really great. Next time we can hunt more pig beasts,” Di Kun said when Su Yue looked at him.

Thinking about a lifetime of delicious meals ahead, Di Kun felt a bubble of happiness.

Su Yue’s eyes flickered slightly.

“There’s still plenty of pork. Let’s finish harvesting fruits first.”

“By the way, how did you sell all that juice today? It went so fast!”

Su Yi looked at Di Kun.

Di Kun glanced at the siblings and smiled.

“I rented a spot at Boundless Square on the commercial street to sell the juice.”

“Mm… and I released Zhan Feng so buyers could take photos with him.”

Su Yue was surprised.

She hadn’t expected Di Kun to do all that.

Ordinary people rarely see mechs, let alone S-class or higher.

Zhan Feng was dual S-class and looked flashy, naturally attracting a crowd.

Buy a cup of juice and get a photo with Zhan Feng—of course people queued!

Many ideas flashed through Su Yue’s mind.

“How much was the rental?” she asked Di Kun.

“A customer introduced the spot. Only 8,000 star coins per month. I’ve signed the contract but haven’t paid yet.”
