“I’m not tired. We really did gather a lot today, but we only earn money when the stuff is sold. More hands make light work—we should go together,” Su Yue said.
“No need. I can handle it alone,” Di Kun insisted, glancing at her belly.
“You’re not alone now. You and the baby both need rest.”
“Give me a thousand cups of juice, and if I don’t sell them all, I won’t come back.”
That last line effectively silenced Su Yue.
“Are you serious?” she asked, surprised.
Di Kun nodded.
“Don’t worry. For you and the baby, I can do it.”
Tao Fu had already prepared a spot for him, and with the preorders in place, selling a thousand cups of juice should be easy.
“Alright then,” Su Yue agreed.
“But if you can’t sell all 1,000 cups this time, you can’t stop me from selling juice next time,” she added.
Their relationship with Di Kun was one of cooperation; she had no authority over him. It was better to work together peacefully and reach mutual agreements.
Di Kun’s eyes flickered.
“If I can sell a thousand cups, you’ll let me accompany you to your prenatal checkup tomorrow,” he said.
Su Yue was taken aback.
She realized she should have gone for her prenatal check earlier. Previously, she skipped many due to lack of money. Recently, she had been too busy, and the baby hadn’t given her trouble, so she forgot.
“Okay,” she agreed. Since it was for the baby, she should go, and having Di Kun accompany her was fine.
Of course, whether he sold a thousand cups or not didn’t affect this plan—but she couldn’t tell him that now. If he slacked off, what then?
Di Kun smiled, having Su Yue pull the juice from spatial storage and then putting it into his mech necklace.
“Wait for my good news,” he said, leaving.
Su Yue smiled and didn’t dwell on his words.
Since Di Kun wouldn’t let her go out, she decided to make something tasty at home.
Lunch had been noodles; dinner couldn’t be sloppy.
She could also prepare food and store it in spatial storage for future use. That way, if a similar day happened again, she wouldn’t need to cook everything fresh.
So Su Yue took the household robot to the kitchen to work.
Su Yi chose to continue juicing in the sunroom.
This time, his sister brought back not only oranges but also apples, pears, and mangoes—all suitable for juice.
The more he worked, the easier it would be for his sister.
Meanwhile, Di Kun rode the hover motorcycle to the administrative building to deliver juice, then the security bureau.
Finally, he reached the location Tao Fu had arranged, collected the materials from the contact, and retrieved Zhan Feng from the mech necklace to set up the juice stall.
A dazzling silver mech suddenly appeared in the busy square.
Its electronic display read: “Fresh Natural Juice, Only 50 Star Coins a Cup!”
The display scrolled messages, later switching to: “Buy juice and take a photo with me!”
The cool mech immediately drew attention from passersby. Many came over to see, and when they noticed the masked, handsome man next to it, a queue quickly formed to buy juice.
The mech was stunning, clearly at least S-class.
S-class mechs were rare—not just on DQ008, but even on more advanced planets. Only highly developed worlds would exhibit S-class mechs.
Meanwhile, Su Yue’s wrist kept vibrating with transaction notifications.
Sometimes 50 star coins, sometimes 80, occasionally 100 or more.
She was astonished, almost thinking her neural interface was malfunctioning.
Suddenly, she remembered Di Kun’s words when he left.
“No way… could he really sell that much juice?” she murmured.
“Maybe a big wave of customers came all at once… a thousand cups in just one afternoon? That seems impossible.”
“It’s okay. Maybe it’ll sell out soon,” she reassured herself and continued marinating meat.
Ten minutes later, she started to feel uneasy.
Her neural interface kept alerting her to incoming star coins.
“What’s happening over there? In just ten minutes, he must have sold over a hundred cups by now!”
Her eyes flickered.
No matter how he sold it, as long as money kept coming in, she was fine.
She calmed herself and continued working.
She had already marinated some meat, preparing to roast some in the oven.
She also simmered a pot of meat broth and was ready to render lard.
Twenty minutes later, her wrist was still vibrating constantly.
Though the frequency was lower, star coins kept arriving.
“What’s Di Kun up to? How is he selling so much juice?” Su Yue muttered.
She thought about sending more juice over, but with the mech’s neural interface unavailable, she wouldn’t easily find him.
She regretted not giving him more juice when he left. There were still over 500 cups in her spatial storage.
Wait—
Su Yue realized something.
If Di Kun sold all 1,000 cups and her storage was running low, would they have enough juice if business continued into the evening?
With that thought, Su Yue didn’t want to stay in the kitchen anymore.
She glanced at the household robot and took it down to the basement.
In the sunroom, Su Yi had packaged a large amount of juice, all mango juice, bright yellow and clearly delicious.
“Big Brother, Di Kun will probably sell the 1,000 cups soon. Our juice stock isn’t much,” she said.
“The kitchen robot isn’t needed yet. I’ll have it help you.”
“Great!” Su Yi agreed happily. He was bored working alone, and even a robot companion was fun.
“I checked earlier—the robot can play music and tell stories. Big Brother can use it to play music or stories to avoid boredom.”
“Later, when Di Kun returns, we’ll go shopping. I’ll also get some energy crystals so we don’t have to conserve power.”
Su Yi’s face lit up with a bright smile.
“Mm!”
Su Yue returned to the kitchen.
Rendering lard didn’t require high heat but was a slow process, so she prepared two large pots at once.
While waiting, she browsed the online interstellar marketplace.
Even on DQ008, an underdeveloped world, online shopping was possible—though expensive, it was still convenient.
