“Babe, those are the reporters who came to the gym earlier,” Vincent said quietly, after peeking through the crack in the door.
Aurelie bit the inside of her cheek, embarrassed every time Vincent lightly called her by the pet names baby, babe, or honey.
It sounded so sweet.
“Yes, that’s them,” Aurelie said, holding back laughter.
The reporters went straight to suite 1804, the door of which was wide open.
When they left, Aurelie had asked Vincent to open it wide and prop it open with something heavy.
In suite 1806, Vincent turned to Aurelie.
“Are we going there now?”
“In a minute,” Aurelie said, listening intently.
“We need to check the situation.”
The reporters were stunned by the scene inside the suite.
Their cameras were working furiously, taking photos and videos of the extraordinary sight, Mathew in his underwear, among scantily clad young women and men.
“Wow, this is great news!”
“Tsk tsk tsk, so Mr.
Mathew Damon likes parties like this?”
“How’s your game going, Mr.
Damon?
Is it fun?”
“Wow, you’re going to make my website a hit, Mr.
Damon.”
Matthew was so shocked that his blood ran cold for a moment.
After realizing the situation, he rushed to find a blanket to cover himself, but the women and men playfully snatched it away.
“Oh, Mr.
Damon, you told me to get naked earlier, but now so many people are watching, I’m embarrassed.”
“Find your own blanket, Mathew!”
Matthew was helpless.
Without any clothes or covering, he fled in shame and locked himself in the bathroom.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Fiora asked, confused.
“Where did you guys come from?”
The reporters paid no attention to Fiora.
They chased after Mathew.
Some of the reporters chased after Mathew.
They stood in front of the bathroom and banged on it.
Several others tried to pry information from the women and men present.
However, they didn’t really answer.
They simply joked around, carefree and relaxed, enjoying the snacks and fruit available.
Fiora stood in the midst of the chaos, desperate, watching how everything had fallen apart in an instant.
“Hey, hey, get out!” Fiora shouted, trying to shoo the reporters away.
“Get out, everyone!
There’s nothing to see here.
Get out!”
However, the reporters paid no attention.
They pushed their way in, and some accidentally bumped into Fiora, causing her to fall to the floor.
She was crying, but no one noticed.
Aurelie and Vincent had been watching the entire scene inside the suite, standing silently in the corridor.
Aurelie tugged at the hem of Vincent’s shirt, motioning him to return to their own suite next door.
“You’re amazing, honey,” Vincent praised.
“You turned the tables so cleverly.
You’re a brilliant war planner.”
Aurelie just smiled.
“It’s nothing as long as you have people you can rely on and people you can use.”
“Matthew’s reputation as a good man will be ruined now, when those reporters spread the news.
Especially with all those photos and videos,” Vincent said.
“That’s good.
That was my goal,” Aurelie said flatly.
Vincent stared at Aurelie, wondering if she meant what she said.
“Aurie, will you regret being the cause of Mathew’s downfall, when those reporters spread the news?” Vincent asked cautiously.
Aurelie shook her head.
“If I were going to regret it, I wouldn’t have done anything in the first place.
I did all this because it was what he deserved.
He needs to know that his betrayal and mistreatment of me are unforgivable.
He needs to face the consequences.”
For some reason, Vincent felt immense relief at Aurelie’s calm and straight answer.
Now he was certain that Aurelie truly no longer had any feelings for Mathew.
The pain of Mathew’s betrayal had eroded any feelings Aurelie had ever had.
Vincent took Aurelie’s hand and kissed the back of it gently.
“This isn’t over yet,” Vincent said.
“Now, let me handle the rest for you, okay?”
Aurelie nodded obediently, much to Vincent’s delight.
He put his arm around her waist and opened the door.
“Let’s act,” Vincent said, kissing the side of Aurelie’s head.
In suite 1804, one of the reporters finally recognized Fiora as Mathew’s girlfriend.
The reporters saw an opportunity for big money, so they demanded 50 million Rupiah from Fiora if she didn’t want news of Mathew’s behavior to be spread.
Fiora objected.
Her family was nearly bankrupt, and she couldn’t possibly ask her parents for that much money just to cover up Mathew’s depraved behavior.
She didn’t have that kind of money herself.
“Hey, why are you making so much noise in here!” Vincent snapped, entering the suite with Aurelie in his arms.
“You’re interrupting my time with my wife, my goodness!”
Seeing Aurelie, Fiora became furious.
“Y-you!
You must have planned everything from the start to destroy Mathew and me, right?”
Aurelie was confused.
She leaned closer to Vincent.
“W-what happened?
Why are you accusing me for no reason?
My husband and I were getting ready to cook together when we heard a commotion in here, and it disturbed me.
I heard there were reporters here, so I came to thank them for making my husband and me a trending topic.
Grandpa Aston Keagan was very happy.”
Even though he was locked in the bathroom, Mathew heard what had happened outside.
He heard Aurelie and Vincent’s voices and finally realized he had fallen into their trap.
However, his current situation was extremely embarrassing, and he couldn’t go out to face the reporters.
They were news-hungry people who would do anything for a good story.
He was trapped half-naked in the bathroom, and it was impossible to show his face.
“Don’t pretend, Aurelie,” Fiora snapped, annoyed.
“You’re so cunning and so good at acting.
I bet you’ve set a trap for Mathew and called these damn reporters here to catch him!”
“Oh my, honey,” Aurelie said to Vincent, in an adorable, spoiled tone.
“Did you hear what Fiora said?
I heard your family also owns an entertainment company.
Can I apply there as an actress?
Fiora thinks I’m good at acting.”
Vincent bent down and kissed the top of Aurelie’s head gently and stroked her cheek.
“I can even win you an Oscar if you want, baby bunny,” Vincent said softly.
“Just tell me what you want, and I’ll make it happen right away.”
Fiora was surprised by Aurelie’s interaction with Vincent.
She was amazed at how close Aurelie seemed to have become to Vincent, even how intimate and affectionate they were.
“Ms.
Lyman, what about our deal?” asked a reporter.
“My hands are itching to write a story.”
Fiora’s face turned pale.
She couldn’t imagine how she was going to get 50 million to silence the reporters.
“50 million is too much,” Fiora protested.
“20 million, I’ll pay it right now.”
Several reporters sneered and jeered.
“Let’s just get the news out now,” said a female reporter.
“My website has been dormant for a while, and this will bring it back to life.”
Vincent smirked and cleared his throat.
“What are you asking Lyman for?”
Fiora blushed, because Vincent wouldn’t even mention her name or add any embellishment of status to it.
“50 million as a guarantee that we won’t cause this embarrassing incident to the public,” said one reporter.
“Hm,” Vincent said arrogantly.
“You only need 50 million?”
The reporters whispered in confusion.
They didn’t know what Vincent was talking about, but they were also afraid to answer.
Fiora was confused by Vincent’s words.
“Hey, what do you mean, only 50 million?
They’ll make—”
“I’ll give you 100 million,” Vincent said, cutting Fiora off.
“Do you hear me, Lyman?
They want 50 million, but I’ll give them 100 million!”
Fiora froze in shock, but then she became elated that Vincent would help her.
Vincent turned to the reporters.
“100 million, on the condition—”
