“Alice, you know I can’t see.

So how would I know?”

For a moment, Alice remained silent.

Then she spoke softly.

“Nameless, I brought you here tonight because there’s something you need to know.

Something I should have told you a long time ago.”

I turned my face toward her voice.

“I’m listening.”

Alice took a slow breath.

“I don’t see the future.”

Her voice was unusually serious.

“I’m a regressor.”

Her words left me stunned.

For several seconds, I couldn’t respond.

A regressor?

Someone who had returned to the past after experiencing the future?

I had heard stories about people like that, but I’d never expected to meet one in reality.

Alice continued before I could ask anything.

“I’ve experienced this world before.

I’ve seen things that haven’t happened yet.

I’ve watched people live, die, betray one another, and disappear.”

Her voice grew quieter.

“But that’s not the main reason I brought you here.”

I remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

“The main reason I’m telling you this is because I want you to trust me completely.”

She paused.

“I’m telling you my biggest secret.”

My mind went blank for a moment.

Then I finally asked, “What are you trying to tell me by saying this?”

A mysterious smile appeared at the corner of Alice’s lips.

“I’m not trying to convince you of anything.”

She slowly stood up from her chair.

“I’m only asking you to understand one thing.”

Her footsteps approached me.

“You are mine.”

Before I could respond, Alice moved closer and sat beside me.

She was so close that I could feel the warmth of her body.

I turned toward her in surprise.

“Alice…”

She smiled.

“If you remove your blindfold now, something will happen.”

My expression immediately became serious.

“I would kill anyone who tried to remove my blindfold.”

“I know.”

Her voice was strangely calm.

“That’s why I’m asking you to trust me.”

She reached toward my face.

For a moment, her fingers stopped just above my blindfold.

I could feel her breath against my cheek.

She was so close that the distance between us seemed almost nonexistent.

“Alice…”

“Tonight, you’re only mine.”

Her voice was barely more than a whisper.

“So let me do something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.”

My heart suddenly began beating faster.

An unfamiliar excitement spread through my body.

Then Alice gently removed my blindfold.

The darkness disappeared.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I saw her clearly.

Moonlight illuminated her beautiful face, while her ocean-blue eyes reflected the faint glow of the stars.

She looked different from the person I had imagined.

More beautiful.

More vulnerable.

And somehow, more real.

Alice looked directly into my eyes.

Neither of us spoke.

Then she leaned closer.

Her lips gently touched mine.

For a moment, I was completely stunned.

I hadn’t expected this.

But I didn’t pull away.

Instead, I slowly closed my eyes and returned her kiss.

The world around us seemed to disappear.

There were no enemies.

No future.

No past.

No secrets.

Only Alice and me.

When we finally separated, neither of us spoke.

Alice’s face had turned slightly red.

She looked away.

“You didn’t stop me.”

I smiled faintly.

“I didn’t want to.”

She looked back at me.

“Good.”

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you to say that.”

I caught her hand.

“Then tell me something.”

“What?”

“Why me?”

Alice’s smile disappeared.

For a moment, she turned her gaze toward the sky.

“Because in every future I’ve seen…”

She paused.

“…you were the only person who stayed.”

I stared at her.

“Even when everyone else left?”

“Yes.”

She lowered her gaze.

“Even when I became someone you could no longer recognize.”

Her voice trembled slightly.

“You still stayed.”

I didn’t know how to respond.

Alice slowly leaned against me, resting her head on my shoulder.

I could feel her warmth beside me.

“That’s why I’m afraid.”

“Afraid?”

“Of losing you.”

The words were simple.

Yet they carried more weight than anything else she had said that night.

I gently placed my hand over hers.

“You said the future isn’t fixed.”

“It isn’t.”

“Then why are you afraid?”

“Because I’ve already seen how easily things can go wrong.”

She lifted her head and looked at me.

“I’ve seen us separated.”

“By whom?”

“By fate.”

She smiled bitterly.

“And sometimes, by our own choices.”

I remained silent.

Alice moved closer again.

“But tonight…”

She looked into my eyes.

“I don’t want to think about the future.”

“Then what do you want?”

She smiled.

“I want tonight to belong only to us.”

Her words made my heart skip a beat.

I gently brushed her hair aside.

Alice closed her eyes.

For a few moments, neither of us moved.

Then she opened her eyes again.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Go ahead.”

“Do you regret removing the blindfold?”

I smiled.

“No.”

“Not even a little?”

“Not even a little.”

She smiled.

“Good.”

She leaned closer again.

This time, I was the one who closed the distance between us.

Our lips met once more.

The second kiss lasted longer than the first.

There was no hesitation now.

Alice rested one hand gently against my chest, while my arm settled around her waist.

Neither of us wanted to break the moment.

When we finally separated, Alice rested her forehead against mine.

Our breathing was quiet and slightly uneven.

“You’re making this difficult,” she whispered.

“What am I doing?”

“Making me want to stay here forever.”

I smiled.

“Then stay.”

Alice stared at me.

“You don’t know what you’re promising.”

“Maybe I don’t.”

I gently held her hand.

“But I know what I want right now.”

“What?”

“You.”

For the first time that night, Alice had no teasing answer.

She simply smiled.

A genuine smile.

Then she wrapped her arms around me and rested her head against my chest.

The wind moved softly through the trees.

Above us, countless stars filled the night sky.

“Alice.”

“Hmm?”

“If you’ve really lived through this future before…”

“Yes?”

“Do you know what happens to us?” Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

She fell silent.

I felt her arms tighten slightly around me.

“I’ve seen many possibilities.”

“And?”

“In some, we remain together.”

She paused.

“In others…”

She didn’t finish.

I didn’t ask her to.

Instead, I pulled her a little closer.

“Then we’ll create another possibility.”

Alice slowly raised her head.

“Another possibility?”

“One you haven’t seen.”

For several seconds, she simply stared at me.

Then her eyes softened.

“You really are different.”

“Different from what?”

“From everyone I’ve ever met.”

She leaned closer.

“And that’s exactly why I’m afraid of losing you.”

I gently touched her cheek.

“You won’t lose me tonight.”

Alice smiled.

“Tonight?”

“Tomorrow, I’ll say it again.”

She laughed softly.

“You’ve become quite confident.”

“Maybe it’s your fault.”

“My fault?”

“You kissed me first.”

Alice’s cheeks turned red.

“Don’t remind me.”

I laughed.

She lightly struck my shoulder.

“Stop laughing.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re embarrassing me.”

I caught her hand before she could pull it away.

She looked at me.

The playful expression slowly disappeared from her face.

Then she whispered, “I trust you.”

I squeezed her hand.

“And I trust you.”

Those words seemed to mean more to her than anything else.

Alice slowly leaned against me again.

For a long time, we simply sat there.

No words were necessary.

The silence between us had become comfortable.

Warm.

Almost peaceful.

Eventually, Alice spoke again.

“Promise me something.”

“What?”

“If the future changes…”

She paused.

“If one day I become someone you no longer recognize…”

Her voice trembled.

“Don’t abandon me immediately.”

I looked into her eyes.

“I won’t.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

She smiled.

“Then I’ll make you a promise, too.”

“What promise?”

“No matter how many times fate separates us…”

She placed her hand gently against my cheek.

“I’ll find you again.”

I smiled.

“That’s a strange promise.”

“Maybe.”

She leaned closer and whispered, “But it’s mine.”

Then she gave me one final, gentle kiss.

When she pulled away, she rested her head against my shoulder.

The night grew deeper.

The stars continued to shine above us.

Neither of us knew what tomorrow would bring.

Neither of us knew how many enemies waited beyond the darkness.

Neither of us knew how many times fate would try to tear us apart.

But none of that mattered tonight.

For the first time, Alice wasn’t running from her past.

And for the first time, I wasn’t afraid of the future.

We simply remained there together beneath the endless sky.

Two people who were never supposed to meet.

Two people who should have remained strangers.

Yet somehow…

Our meeting had already begun changing the future.
